He nodded off her apology, flicking his tail, nervous. She asked a question, he hoped she wouldn't have asked, his ears turned into a more relaxed position. "Truth is, I didn't mean to kill.. well. The first one was meant to be a hit to the hip, but I didn't realize how quick I was going." He explained, talking coolly and calm, though he was panicking. "The second one.. I have no explanation for him." He looked around, making sure nothing was around, before continuing. "The third.. he was suffering and would've died anyway, after that blow to the shoulder." Quieting his tone, "I spared the fourth Bachelor's life." He cocked his ears back, tilting one, the sunset looked oddly pretty to him, he could barely see the color in it, yet it looked magical, he motioned for her to look at it, a glimmer of some not quite terrible part of him.

He glanced back at her, knowing this would be one awkward trip either way. Her presence was weird, yet calming, he reasoned with himself, it was probably because he wasn't alone now that he had company, yet she made him anxious, or nervous, and paranoid.

He wasn't use to having to protect someone other then himself.

Luna | Herd Mare | Mentions: Lukos.

Luna would be listening to his answers, seemingly pleased. She noticed that he motioned to something, turning her head to look over to see the sunset. The beauty of its colors memorized her as she halted, just watching the sunset "Oh wow, I've never really realized how magical the sunset looks til now.." The Paint mare said to herself, a gentle breeze blew her black & white mane and her fully black tail a bit.

She wasn't sure of why she felt so comfortable in Lukos's presence but catching notice of a glimmer of some not quite terrible part of him. Luna noticed that she wasn't moving before looking away from the sunset, quickly following after the stud to catch up with him again so she doesn't get left behind.

His eyes crossed her muzzle, she looked content with his answers, then got distracted, he slowed down since she stopped to stare. Her coat, shimmering, illuminating, he felt like he was caught in a trance when he looked at her, he tore his eyes off her, shaking his head. "The sunset is always pretty, one just needs to take the time to see it." He could ruin their moment, knowing that this was just the center, and that this was a dip that separated the valley midway, and that they couldn't see, because the valley walls were to high.

But it seemed to magical, the way she stared off into nothing. His ears perked, trying to get himself to not stare, it wasn't that he was interested in her, she just drew him to her.

The stream was now more then a trickle and had become of splashable depth. Though it was tiny and could hardly be called a water source. Some luck to find her out here.., I wonder why she is sticking with me. He gave thought to it, but mostly ignored it, the sun crept lower, and the walls higher, the cool air chilled the Arabian who seemed to be skin and bones.

Luna continues to follow behind the Arabian stallion. She realized that she never asked his name but...something about this stallion just drawed her in. She shook her head a bit then looked over to see the stream that Lokus was looking then she turned her gaze back over to him. "We could stop to get a drink." She suggested then adds "If you don't mind me asking, I've never really asked for your name."

Once he helps me find the herd...I'll be out of his hair. She thought to herself but for now, she just has to get use to traveling with another horse that isn't from her herd. The Paint was quite pleased that he isn't like the other bachelor stallions that she has experienced throughout growing up as a Herd mare.

Lukos tipped his head back and looked to the darkening sky, the sunset was now trickling away, orange splayed the entirety of the Western horizon. He turned to get closer to the stream that they were walking along to get home, nodding that she could drink.

It was tempting to ignore her question all together and not respond to her trying to be friendly. But he was kind of new to traveling with someone and had a feeling that he should try to be nice. "Lukos. My name is Lukos." He head, turning his head away. "What is your name?" He returned the question and leaned down to drink, silently.

His eyes traced her legs and body, she looked so comfortable, like she liked having company. He couldn't wrap his head around it, traveling, eating and being with someone, it made one feel lonelier once they're alone.

Then it hit him. She likes having company, because she feels safe, something she got use to all her life. His ears perked, he lifted his head to look at her, finally understanding, he felt stupid now, after all it was something a foal could've figured out.

She looked at Lokus again when he returned the question. "Luna. My name is Luna. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lukos." The mare politely said before leaning her head down, drinking the stream's water in silence as she quenching her thirst from all the running she has done today from the events.

The Paint mare noticed that the stallion was looking at her with his ears perked which confused her a bit as she lifted her head, looking at Lukos once more. "Is something the matter?" She asked with a puzzled expression on her face. Luna flicked her tail as her muscles twitched a bit, feeling like a fly was trying to land on her like usual. Her ears turn backwards then perked kinda forward, just casually listening to their surroundings.

Her eyes curiously traced his legs and body, her thoughts pulling her back into thinking. He looks like he isn't use to traveling with another horse. I'm guessing he's quite use to being on his own since he acts quite...uncomfortable in my presence? Wait... of course he would act like that you idiot since he's a bachelor stallion, some of them tend to travel by themselves unlike the other ones. Ugh, Luna why do you gotta be an idiot at times like this!

Lukos' ears perked, he nodded. "Luna means.. moon, I believe." He said, nipping at burrs attached to his ankle. "Does that mean you like the darkness of night?" He asked, a humorous tone, though it was a dry joke.

Casting a stoic eye to her, the air spread with awkwardness, the question came in a strange tone to his ears. "Well. Seeing as I am rather unaccustomed to having company throughout my travels, it seems to be bothering me." He said in a serious, steel tone, as he answered. Fetching a dim memory, -a sentence of wisdom, signifying his will to be alone- that he had recently remembered. "When you aren't alone, it fills that place of your mind, where your social system works, it is awakened when you speak to someone, or when you are nearby someone for an extended amount of time." He explained from his point of view, the way he had learned to focus on it, and understand it. "And once that someone leaves, it makes you feel empty and lonely, when you miss having that.. social part, of your mind, filled." He turned away from her, looking down, then to the sun that set ever so slowly, his skinny neck curved, leaving his head to hang uselessly. "I travel alone for the simple reason, that when someone fills that piece of my mind, they get taken from me." He looked up, then to Luna, once more. "Whether that be greed, strength.. or simply, natural selection." He meant that all, having once had a mare that he fancied, the Bachelors were the cause of him losing her. He had always promised to himself to make any bachelor who he had seen separating a mare from her herd, regret it.

He didn't like killing, but some of them had it coming, and he would protect a mare of maybe a stallion in need. After ten years, you'd have thought maybe he would have reasoned with himself and forgotten his regrets for killing. But he never did, he saw it how he thought was right, and tried not to make any connection to animals he came across. He'd already made a mistake telling the Paint mare his name.

Shaking the thoughts from his head, he looked to her, seeming stressed but calm.

The mare softly giggled at the stallion's dry but humorous joke. "Oh yes, I'm totally a night Owl since I love the darkness of the night oh so much." Luna jokingly said this in reply.

The Paint mare would be listening the whole time to Lukos, she felt quite guilty for asking him what was the matter but Luna stayed quiet while the stallion spoke. The mare got a little lost in her thoughts as she flicks her tail, twisting her ears back and forth before they go into a relaxed position.

She lightly shook her head a bit, turning her attention back on the Arabian stallion. She wouldn't get to comfortable around him just yet. "We should probably get going before night fall." Luna softly said this to the stallion, waiting for him to lead the way once more.

Lukos listened to her happy reasoning for liking night with her response. "Sleep is hard, I often look at the moon." A soft look came into his reflective golden eyes as he looked at her.

The response to his words was as expected, with a nod he spoke up through the awkward silence. "We've got a little over a half hour till dark, let's see how much land we can cover." He said, soothingly, as he looked away, motioning for her to follow again, as he walked North, up the creek.

15 minutes of silence past, he hadn't looked to Luna, a cool breeze made him shiver.

It had gotten dark faster then he had expected. It'll be dark soon.. I'll have to find a soft spot of grass. He scanned the area, the grass still looked dead. "We'll stay here, I'll find somewhere comfortable to lay." He said, not realizing it sounded like he wanted her to be comfortable around him, or something along those lines.

He stepped off the Sandy soil. He slid into the dense bushes, clearing a little path. "In here." He said, poking his head out before backing in again.

He had formed a path to a green and brown cave of interlocked leaves, the ground was covered in short brown soft grass, it was still mostly green though. It was very wide, he stomped around and ripped out little growing trees that could hurt while they lay. Although he wasn't planning laying, he wanted her to not mind being near him.
