Kayla, shaking, sat there in his arms. Her voices quieted enough to be ignored and she opened her eyes. "Sorry...." She said quietly, her eyes down
| |

"It's fine," He assured her softly, taking his time with her.
| |

"No, really...If I become...annoying or something, just....." She muttered, pausing and thinking. "Send me away....."
| |

"Kayla," Gale said softly, squeezing her shoulder gently. "I don't think you could ever even annoy me. And i'm never going to send you back to that kingdom, for all I can tell, they made you worse then what you already were."

Kayla nodded and gently flinched from his hands
| |

He remain where he was, letting the silence wrap around them.
| |

Kayla was silent, her eyes still down and waiting- for the next command, I suppose
| |

Gale sat with her, watching the sun rise
| |

Kayla sat there for a while, noticing the little things. They way he slightly relaxed around her, the warmth of his hand, his soft smiles at her, the promise of safety...
| |

Gale finished off his flask, setting it aside as the edges of his mind softened.
