Kitty blinked at him incredulously and then laughed. "You're kidding." She said dismissively, her face slowly becoming more shocked as he seemed serious. "You're... not kidding." She recoiled as if he had burned her, her eyes wide with betrayal, stumbling back. "No. You're... you..." She stuttured a few things out before the shock turned to outrage. "You didn't know? We've been flirting with each other since the day we met! You're- You're engaged, and you invited another woman to your PARENTS. BALL!" She hissed, giving him a betrayed look. "You- you led me on this whole time, and you- you have the NERVE to say you didn't expect me to kiss you? You brought me out here, to a secluded, romantic garden away from everyone else... and you didn't expect to kiss me?" She said, bitterly sarcastic at this point. "No wonder those knights didn't bat an eye, you must do this all the time. I can't believe I let this happen.." she said, shaking her head with angry tears in her eyes.

It was safe to say he was shooketh and really honestly ashamed. He really couldn't defend himself at all, he knew the whole time. He felt bad. He couldn't bare looking at her. He glanced up at her after her antagonizing rant. "I- I meant mostly that I didn't know it was going to be so good," He murmured, stepping away from her. "It was arranged. I don't love her." He wanted to continue giving excuses, along with the fact that he really didn't bring anyone else. But she'd probably find him to be a liar there too.

Kitty let out a scoff, pressing her head into her hands and squeezing her eyes shut, willing herself not to cry. It... it didn't work very well. She lifted her head, trembling slightly. "Oh, right, it was arranged and you don't love her. So that makes it perfectly fine for you to waltz off and find someone else until you have to- what? Be shackled to her?" She snapped in disgust, holding herself as though she felt overexposed. "I really, really like you, Alistair. Liked you, might be the proper term now. I thought you were something special. Different. Unique. Why didn't- why didn't you tell me? I would've understood." She ended softly, quickly swiping a tear off her face and looking at the hedges.

He glanced down. "I'm not sure what I was thinking..you kinda came out of the blue." He murmured. He looked back down. It felt so much worse being degraded as he was. She was right. "I know, you're right, and there is no reason I kept it to myself." He said, finally looking back at her. "I'm sorry."

"When do you get married?" She asked softly, staring at her feet. She felt... used. But really, what right did she have to be upset? She had no claim over him in any way. She glanced up at him anxiously and then back at her feet.

He took a deep breath. "On my birthday, in August(Leo baby- like a month away probably)." He said quietly. "You're invited if you want." Probably the wrong time to invite someone to your wedding but he wanted her to know she was welcome.

Kitty nodded, raising her eyebrows at him with a slightly insulted expression. "Well. Happy early birthday, and... congratulations." She murmured, standing awkwardly for a second. "I don't think your wife would like that very much. Or me." She added siftly, taking a hesitant step toward the exit. "I should go. I don't- I don't think it's wise we see each other again. Have a nice wedding." She added softly, slowly turning on her heel and walking toward the exit of the garden a bit fast, mainly because she didn't want him to see her really cry.

He lowered his head, letting it hang slightly. He stayed quiet. "Thank you," was all he could muster as she brushed past. He watched her leave, then looked back at the floor. Collecting his thoughts to keep himself composed. He had a party to attend, right? Wasn't that supposed to be fun?. skipPER))
