Sage chuckled lightly and released the girl once she'd admitted defeat. "I got lucky," he hummed in a rather amused manner. "But you were slowing down," he pointed out, nudging her slightly in a teasing manner. He nodded and waved her on and came out of the water, shaking and settling in the sun. He noticed Sahara looking at him and he snorted, saying "I don't have to speak horse to know what you're thinking and it's not true," to the mare, closing his eyes and catching a breather. He just had to figure out what he wanted Quinn to do.

Sahara whinnied, the horse laugh. She nickered, showing her teeth in a kind of smile. Quinn glanced at her. "Stop it." She groaned, squeezing water out of her dripping hair. She glanced at Sage, wondering what he was going to ask her to do. "If only I hadn't have slowed down...." she mused, a small smile prominent on her face

Sage lay there for a while, wondering what to have the girl do. Eventually he chuckled and glanced over at Quinn with a grin. "Tell me what my horse is saying. Like...overall," he hummed. "That's what I want." He wanted to know what chaos was saying...and Quinn could tell him that. He knew the horse well, but it would still be nice to know what he was actually saying.

"That's a silly thing to ask." Quinn snorted. "You know you could've asked that at any time, contest or not and I would've said yes! I'll do that as a favor, but if you want another thing just think harder. Right now he's..." Quinn chuckled. "He's saying he agreed with me, and he's laughing along with Sahara. Your horse has a sense of humor..." she snickered, sitting up and turning her head so her hair didn't drip on her clothes. Edited at April 4, 2023 12:40 PM by Wild Warmbloods

Sage shrugged and chuckled. "It was all I could think of," he admitted. Then he wrinkled his nose slightly. "Yeah I know....his sense of humor also includes sneezing in my face or bucking when I least expect it," he grumbled, though in a fond manner.

"Think harder!" Quinn laughed. "Ya know sometimes you need to use that thing on in your head." She teased, looking at Chaos. "Of, now he's mad. He says that he only bucks when something goes wrong or something hurts, and he says he sneezes in your face when he disagrees with you." Quinn laughed. "Thank you, Chaos. I love how you use your brain." She joked, looking at Sage

Sage rolled his eyes and gave the horse a look. "I've seen your face, mister...you enjoy scaring the shit out of me sometimes too," he huffed with a light chuckle. "The sneezing is valid though," he mused lightly with a shrug. That was fair, he thought....he wasn't super easy to get along with. He knew that. But he and chaos and grown up together, and they were pretty close.

Quinn laughed. "He says he really does love you, under all your layers of steel." She snorted. "Anyway, it's getting late. Maybe by the morning you can actually think of a GOOD thing. I owe it to you, considering I thought , and challenged, that I could evade you for five minutes, and I couldn't." Quinn smiled slightly before nodding at him and ducking into the tent. She took a blanket and hoped it didn't get too cold tonight, considering she was still a little damp.

Sage hummed and shrugged. "We'll see," he murmured with a yawn. "If I ask you to let me curl up next to you at night since you're warm would that be too much," he called over to her with a slight chuckle. "Also, it might be a good idea to get some other outfits...whether we stop at the castle of in town somewhere," he pointed out.

"You do that anyway." Quinn pointed out, rolling her eyes. "And yes, it would be. We will see when we go, considering you sleep late enough for me to wake up, go get supplies, come back, and you would STILL be asleep." She teased, rolling her shoulders and getting ready to fall asleep.
