Jericho - haha. I have someone I know, at least. Who I get along with. That's what I'm concerned about. If I don't do the housing now will it drop my priority selection down and I don't get a room with the not annoying person?

I'm taking everything online and its going very nicely. I'm also taking accelerated classes so my degree is taking about 3 instead of 4 years. Also, don't be afraid to get a job instead of college straight away. That's what I did because I didnt know what I wanted to do. So I worked a few a years before finally deciding on a major. And now I have savings to pay for school, I'm not doubting if this is what I want and I also feel it helped me mature a bit more and treat college more professionally than I did high school

Seconded. Do not get a random roommate if you can avoid it.. worst year of my life.

I'm just nervous I'm gonna end up wasting time taking gen eds when I could be making $$ or getting new skills, but equally nervous that if I went straight into something else, later on I'd be losing $$ and be unable to meet my goals. WHY is it so complicated.

-HEE Click- Gotta love when every WWW you breed for the month is a filly 😂 from multiple accounts, but I think 6 in one month is a record for me.

Oh I didn’t even think about that. I’ve only heard from state schools so far and my state doesn’t really have a flagship or anything so I don’t think we have housing problems like some really big schools do.

Quiet Valley - that's the thing, since I applied EA to a school with housing issues and housing opens Feb 9, now I'm stuck.

Room and board is stupid expensive but you get the traditional student experience living on or near campus, which I really enjoyed. The school I work for now has zero housing, we don't even offer any housing support, and is fully commuter. You save a lot of money if family is still allowing you to live at home

Zrek, you still have a few months to decide, right? I’m also applying this cycle and most places don’t require a deposit until May 1

I'm trying to make sure I keep my options open and since I already applied to colleges I'm not sure if I should accept and then defer a semester to try trades or go straight into it in the summer, or what. The whole housing thing complicates it so much more and it's driving me nuts.

The downside was he had to travel out of state frequently for months at a time

My former stepfather was an orbital welder who did contract work and made absolute bank. The work was hard on him though. I don't know where he's at now, but he was still working into his 60s

Trades are in dire need of people I will say. I was a certified MAG welder for the company I worked for and it was fun and paid very well
