Kayla heard him shift and wake, making her nearly leap up from fear before she sighed and sat back down again in the same defensive position as before

Gale popped his neck, it sounding like you were tapping a wood bowl.

Kayla kept her eyes on the floor, still fearful and silent

Gale got lost in thought, staring at the wall. He thought back to her flinching, was she, was she scared of him? It broke the man at the thought, he missed her, now she was scared of him.

Kayla stayed where she was, not syaing anything. Was she really ever that fearless woman in the forest, running alongside this man and sleeping with him under the stars? Maybe it was all just a long-gone dream...

Gale eventually looked over at her, brows pinched softly. He surveyed her for a moment, shaking his head before looking away in defeat. It was a while before the man spoke again, staring out the window at the stars. "Kayla you're not...you're not scared of me," Gale looked at her eyes, into them, face worried and a hint of betrayel. "right?"

"I don't know...." She said after a long moment. "I'm trying to remember if when you told me you loved me....if....that was real or a dream...." She muttered, eyebrows pinched together in concentration. "I don't want to be scared, but....Recent life has told me i'm not allowed to have opinions without getting hit...or worse..." It was the most she'd said since she was first taken and tagged along with him. She wanted to trust him- she really did -but it would take a bit for her to trust anyone again after what felt like an eternity of hurt

Gale's expression fell more and more until it was just sorrow and brokeness. He took his gaze to the floor, eyes a ocean as he went to the door. The man stopped right at it, hand on the knob as he glanced back over his shoulder. "I....I need to go proccess a few things." Gale explained, walking out as he felt broken, and guilty for god knows what. But he knew one thing, He was going to get her to trust him. Otherwise, why was he still here?

Kayla was silent as she took the liberty of grabbing one of the many blankets once he stepped out. She sighed and curled up in the corner, squeezing her eyes shut and hoping sleep would come before he did

Gale went outside the tavern and sat at one of the tables, denying drinks and rooms offered to him by women. His lover, his reason he was still alive, was scared of him. Actually scared of him. Petrified, maybe. He couldn't beleive it, he wouldn't, it wasn't real. None of it was real, he was sleeping with her not even a hour ago, but that was more then a year ago. Gale had been alone and afraid for a year, and now, when he finally thought releif would come, turns out, things can change, Very, very, quickly.
