The doctor shook his head slightly. "If it gives you peace of mind, I could give her something to make her feel a bit better. Though, I don't want to give her anything she doesn't need," he mused before humming thoughtfully at his offer. He always had things that needed doing... so an extra set of hands would definitely be helpful. "I suppose you could go around and hand out doses if you really wanted to. They're already in numbered cups. All you have to do is make sure everyone gets what they need and fill up some cups of water," he noted lightly before cocking his head curiously.

Sage shook his head at the doctor's first comment. "It's nothing bad, and she's asleep. Just figured i'd tell you," he informed the man. WHen the doctor told him what needed to be done, he nodded eagerly and slipped away to fill up some of the small cups with water and gave anyone who needed it their medicine as well as the water. It didn't take him very long...maybe ten minutes, tops, he put the cart back and sighed before wandering out of the ward. He checked in on Att, who was still asleep, and he stood there staring at the baby, shifting his weight before deciding to go back to check in on Anya. He would bring Att, but he didn't want to boy to get sick.

The doctor gave a slight nod and a wave of thanks when the boy left. It had definitely been helpful, and it meant he could get some notes down, too. If he was lucky, then hopefully the boy would come down and give him a hand in future. He did have his Apprentice, he supposed, but she rather liked to talk than do her job. (super short, sorry!)

(it's all good!) Sage wandered down the hallways rather quickly, not really paying attention to anyone around him as he went back to Anya's room. He slipped in quietly, because he assumed the girl would still be asleep, and slid into the bed next to the girl after replacing the rag on her forehead with fresh (and cool) water. Once he sat down, he realized how tired he was, so he lay down next to the girl, though he didn't want to fall asleep. He knew Anya was alright, and she wasn't going to die like Lizzie, but he still couldn't allow himself to fall asleep. What if she woke up and needed something? Or what if she got worse and he didn't realize? Eventually, he sighed and got a pencil and paper, and a hardcover book so he could draw, and sat down next to the girl again with a quiet sigh.

Anya felt the bed shift slightly when Sage slipped into the bed. She was in that weird half awake half asleep stage, where she was only dimly aware of what was going on around her. She felt the cool rag, and she was thankful that he was trying to help, but she was just kind of... cold. Not overly so, because she was wrapped up in blankets and duvet's, but she just had a bit of a chill in her. After a little while, she did wake up properly, but only after about ten minutes. She still wasn't sure why Sage wanted to stay, she'd just end up getting him sick, but she wasn't going to complain. She shifted slightly so that she was sat up next to him and leaned against his shoulder as she watched him draw.

Sage glanced over at the girl when she shifted, and gave her a warm smile, more than happy to be the head rest for a while. It was good to see the girl sit up and be a little bit more awake than earlier. "Feel better," he asked, though kept drawing since the girl seemed to enjoy watching him. He'd ended up drawing Att again, and he wasn't really sure why, but it was just the boy crawling around, his usual smile plastered across his pudgy baby cheeks.

Anya shook her head slightly before giving small type of smile. "Just a bit," she murmured quietly. Perhaps a bit of sleep had done a bit of good, but she was definitely coming down with something. Maybe that just meant she'd spend more time in bed and get out of her mothers chores for a little while. She looked at the drawing with a fond smile before looping her hands around his arm. "How is he, Att? He's feeling alright?" Edited at December 13, 2022 02:03 PM by Belle

Sage smiled and nodded, looking down at the picture fondly. "He's asleep right now. I asked the doctor and he said he was doing well. We'd have to start weaning him in a few weeks, so we may not get to that before he leaves," he thought out loud, before sighing and resting his head on top of Anyas gently. He was tired, really tired, but he didn't want to fall asleep and have Anya take a turn for the worst while he was out. He didn't want a repeat of Lizzie, even if his brain told him there was really no way that would happen.

Anya gave a small nod. It'd be nice to see the boy through to actual food... or maybe that was just what she was thinking because she would have to deal with a very upset baby who had his milk taken off of him. Anya reached an arm around to place a gentle hand on his cheek as he rested his head on hers. "I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not," she whispered quietly before giving a small smile - or trying to give him a smile, at least. "I suppose it'd give his family a nice start if they didn't have to wean him, though... all the crying..." she trailed off slightly before closing her eyes again. She was a bit weary still, but not as much as before... though, her head did hurt a bit... and she supposed that it was just a cold setting in.

Sage grunted and nodded. "That's what I was thinking. It would be easier as they got to know him if it wasn't weaning right away...I want him to like his family, not have the first experience with them being that," he murmured. And really, he wanted to hold onto the boy for as long as he possibly could...he loved the boy, he really did, and he didn't want to give him away. But it would be better for the boy, and who was he to ruin the boys life by bringing him to the slums and then dying and leaving him to starve in a few years? He closed his eyes, not wanting to think about giving the boy up. Besides, he was, admittedly, exhausted. And he was nice and warm now, and felt safe, though he still hesitated..what if Anya needed him? What if something happened? And he'd need to go check in on Att soon...
