Luther rolled his eyes slightly before giving at type of giggle. "Well, you should have let me be the knight in shining armour... I need to start winning her over," the boy pointed out before giving a bit of a nod. He didn't have much else to do so he didn't mind going to see Att. Plus, the baby was rather entertaining. Though, he didn't want to leave the warm room... it was definitely set up to keep them calm, though their light competition had sort of ruined that, he supposed. "I'll come with... it's not like I have much better to do," the boy shrugged slightly.

Sage chuckled before standing up. "You were too scared of her to go picker her up," he protested in a way that was really just teasing the boy. Then he grinned down at him teasingly. "You almost got taken out by a girl," he cackled, talking about the book that had almost cleaved his head. Anya could probably kick both their butts if she really wanted to, though she wasn't much of a fighter. Either way, it was fun to tease Luther, because they were both (in all honesty) a little bit afraid of the girl. Not in a bad way...but they definitely respected her, and neither of them wanted to step out of line. Well, except for a joke here or there. He was fine with that. He started walking back to the room once Luther got up, waiting at the door for the boy before striding off again. Edited at December 12, 2022 12:35 PM by NightClan

Luther gave a bit of a gasp as he teased him about the girl. Really, it was strange to think that either of them were scared of the girl to some extent. "Was not! I just needed a moment to top up the courage," he complained before walking out the door behind him. It was a bit of a weird concept... the girl was conventionally pretty, and really rather sweet looking, and yet the two boys, both rather intimidating, where a bit cautious of being around her. Well, he did suppose cautious was a good word. To say they were scared of her was a bit of a stretch, but she was definitely respected by them.

Sage grinned back at the boy. "Still means you were scared," he chuckled, mischief dancing in his eyes. Really, it was fun to tease, but he let it go after a bit as they walked along....they'd had their fun and now he was getting a bit worried about Att. His walking sped up the closer they got to his room, and he practically ran into the room, shoulders relaxing when he heard Atts sleepy coo from the crib. Relieved, he strode over and scooped the baby up, the boys features lighting up as he looked up at Sage and reached out to grab a hold of his shirt and curl up more.

Luther stood at the door as he watched Sage see to the child before starting to fiddle around with his nails. The a baby did seem so happy... he hadn't actually heard him cry yet. He supposed that was why the queen was still letting the child stay. If he made a racket then he'd have a whole lot more trouble on his hands. And maybe that was why Anya had something to do with the child too. "He's very quiet," he observed with a slightly tilted head. "With him being out on the streets, I would have thought that he'd be more vocal," he shrugged slightly with a slightly cocked head.

Sage glanced over at Luther when he spoke before chuckling and shrugging. "Most street kids learn to be quiet and care for themselves," he admitted. "Parents don't put up with much crying," he explained, giving Att a finger, which the boy promptly bit down on. Sage made a slight face but let the boy chew on his finger, as his little baby teeth weren't sharp enough to really hurt him yet, and it probably felt nice for Att. He already had drool on him anyway, and it would help the boy...he had to find something he could safely teethe on soon or his finger would be broken.

The boy gave a bit of a nod at his response. He supposed it made sense... not only was it annoying, but it was probably dangerous for both the child and the parents of the child was just screaming all the time. "That sounds about right," he hummed lightly. He wrinkled his nose as the boy bit down on Sages finger... it definitely wasn't something that would be good if it became a habit, but he didn't expect that Sage would let it become bad. If he did start with it, it'd just turn into him biting everyone when he got older. "Want me to go grab something other than your flesh to chew on?"

Sage nodded and grinned sheepishly. "I haven't had much time to find a good thing for him to chew on," he admitted. "He's been keeping me up all night so through the day my brain isn't well functioning very often," he chuckled. "I'll go with you...maybe he can pick something out." Then he wrinkled his nose slightly. "I should probably check in with the doctor as to when I should start weaning him, too. And if he's growing normally." He was already bigger than when he'd first arrived...he looked like any other baby of his age by now, pudgy cheeks and all. But, Sage had taken care of Lizzie, and that was in a very different environment than this one. She'd been weaned early, and was much smaller with stunted growth compared to Att, mostly because of the little food he could find for them. He started for the doors, nodding his head to wave Luther on since his arms were full of baby.

"Sounds smart," the boy chirped lightly before opening the doors for Sage towards the nursery. He did think it was a good idea to check in with the doctors to make sure the child was growing properly... though, Att was about as big as Luther was when he was his age, if not then bigger. Perhaps the boy was slightly older than they'd first thought, or maybe some good food had just done him a world of good. As it would for anybody, he supposed. Once they got to the nursery, which was almost eerie the way that it was so still, he went off to find a small box of rubber toys that weren't likely to cause the boy issues when he was older. "He might like some of these," he shrugged slightly. "The castle is normally full of infants so we always have a bunch of chew toys that are new and unused," he prompted lightly.

Sage nodded and followed Luther around and back to the nursery, where he set Att down and put the pile of toys down by him so he could pick out something he liked. The boy let out a happy coo and reached for the pile, examining each toy thoroughly before finding one he liked, a small blue rubber hippo-like animal that he seemed to enjoy chewing on. Of course, it looked a bit odd to have the baby chewing on an animal's head, but the boy seemed happy, and it wasn't his finger, so who was he to judge? Sage nodded and scooped the boy up, who held onto his toy tightly with a happy coo as he nestled into Sage's chest and blinked up at Luther with a somewhat curious expression. Sage sighed and nodded. "Right. I suppose I may as well stop by the doctor's now, while I have time," he thought out loud. "You're welcome to join me," he added, for Luther's benefit.
