"Thank you. Yours is lovely too." Adne answered, offering him a small smile at the compliment. She watched him nock his arrow and release, raising her eyebrows as it hit dead center. She whistled quietly as she studied the target, then nodded. "Impressive." She grinned, taking an arrow from her quiver and moving to nock it. She aimed for the target next to his, the third closest. She exhaled and let it fly, landing it about a centimeter from the bullseye. She leaned back against a tree behind her and watched him expectantly. She wasn't quite as good as him, but she felt close. Edited at June 6, 2024 12:45 PM by Widow Valley Farms

Tadhg brought the bow down. With a close target, he wasn't really surprised but still looked back, smiling. He crossed his arms losely, feeling quite warm even in the shade. He tented his shirt, looking for air. It didn't really help. She proved a distraction with a very good mark. His brows raised. "Quite a hit." He murmured, reaching down for another arrow. His eyes switched between targets, then he raised the bow. This arrow hit just a tiny bit over to the right of hers. Dead center. He smiled at her, this look looked something like 'god I'm good.' When she turned back around, he picked up the corner of his shirt and took it off.

Adne dipped her head in a nod. She wasn't in love with it, and the compliment felt more like a snipe than anything. Then again, most compliments felt more like a snipe than anything. She nodded as his arrow pierced the center of her target, glancing at him and about to make a positive comment when she saw the arrogance on his face. She blew out a breath. "Cocky, aren't you?" She mocked, moving to nock another volley. She pulled back to full draw, making the mistake of glancing at him when she heard movement. Her hand fell to about three-quarters draw, her bow dipping slightly as her fingers slipped from the string. She was too busy keeping her mouth closed to care for the moment. She was staring directly at his abdominal muscles, bow slack at her side. There were about zero rational thoughts in her brain at that moment as she draw her eyes up to stop gawking. And then, she saw more muscle, and then more, and then his arms, and promptly decided death was the best choice in this situation. Her eyes were trained directly on his chest, absolutely nothing going on behind her eyes.

Normally, T would be ashamed to be prideful. In truth he didn't want to be humble. He should be sucking up to her or something of that form but some spite he'd buried came up and he definitely blamed her. It's not like she made it easy either. Instead, he smiled at her. He looked up from the shirt he had in his hands to watch her take the shot. His eyes watched the arrow head straight for the dirt with no movement of his head. He stared for a second, then his eyes popped back the the absent woman. "..Adne," he said after a moment. Pausing partly to see if she would respond. "You missed." Fighting to stifle his grin as he dropped his shirt a couple feet away, and grab another arrow. "And you are staring at me. Maybe you should look where you are shooting. You might hit it. Try again." He snickered. Unabashedly.

Ariadne blinked in blatant surprise as he said her name, her gaze finally snapping to his face. "What?" She asked softly, eyes a little wide as she got her bearings back. She blinked at him for the comment, her brain moving awfully slowly. She turned to look at where her arrow hit the ground a few feet in front of the target, clearing her throat. "Good to know." She nodded, glancing back at him and fighting to look solely at his face. She rolled her eyes at his comment, setting her bow on the ground and holding it steady between her legs as she reached up to smooth a stray lock of hair back into the arrangement. She glared at him, raising her eyebrows with what felt like a challenge. "Would you like me to casually strip off my shirt a moment before you release? Then, maybe, you could talk to me about looking at my target." She sniped, picking up her bow and another arrow, clearing her throat again. She turned toward the closest target, knocking her arrow and drawing back. It was a struggle to keep her eyes forward, but she managed, while also being inwardly flustered. She let her arrow fly and managed to hit an inner ring on the target- not a near bullseye, in the slightest. She blew out a breath and leaned back against her tree, tilting her head back and up to take a breath and close her eyes.

Safe to say he definitely enjoyed the struggle she seemed to be having when looking in his general direction. Especially since it seemed he had gotten her back for that courting tradition she didn't even warn him about not a half hour ago. "I would not complain." He cocked an eyebrow. "However I am just cooling off, it is warm out today. No breeze." He smiled innocently while she tried again. "Good effort." He commented, less competition on his mind. Less, not all. He brought another arrow up, it hit the fourth furthest target out of six. Bullseye number three. He turned slightly to expectantly stare at her, since it was her turn.

Ariadne gave a small snort of amusement at his response, rolling her eyes. "And here I was, thinking you were humble and shy." She snickered, rolling her shoulders. "Yes, of course. I would do the same, but it's generally frowned upon to walk around half-naked." She shrugged, rubbing her eyes a little as she remained settled against the tree. The delegation meeting that morning had run from the wee hours of the morning until eight, and she was still running on nocturnal hours. She was in about her eighteenth hour of waking, at that point, and feeling just a little of the care-free sense. She opened one eye to peer at him and find him staring at her. She didn't need to look at his target to know he hit a bullseye. "I would compliment you, but I'm afraid if I do your head will grow big enough to carry you into the clouds." She scoffed, nocking another arrow and straightening. His presence was grating against her competitive streak in a nasty way, which didn't help her performance at all. She loosed another arrow and cursed as it found its mark on the inner ring again.

He glared at her. "I was before I met you." Sarcasm. "I will keep that in mind. Maybe." T rolled his shoulders after his shot. He paused, noticing she looked exhausted. Watching for a moment before he looked down to grab another arrow. "Only fair." He murmured as she refused to praise him, yeah he deserved that. He shuffled slightly, observing her form. "Your elbow is very low." He mentioned after she remained at a steady not bullseye. He crossed his arms again.

Ariadne scoffed at him, stretching slightly. She glared at him from the corner of her eye, crossing her arms. "Is it? Thanks a whole lot. Now shoot your damned arrow." She snapped, settling back against the tree with a huff. She didn't care fi he was right. She didn't want him to be right, which meant if she didn't analyze it, he wouldn't be.

If you wanna have her snap a string go ahead) T smiled a little but didn't move. She went from extremely attracted to him to completely hateful very fast. He wondered if this was normal. "Do you want to try my bow?" Holding it out by the end, offering it to her.
