Nate went up to the woodland trails,

Dakota waited anxiously after she put Hunter down for a nap
| |

Nate came back a little bit later, turning Jackie out and then going back into the house.

Dakota watched him wondering where she went wrong
| |

Nate came in, seeing her, and making eye contact before looking away. He made himself some food, sitting at the counter and eating.

dakota sighed, walking away to mindlessly tidy their room
| |

Nate ate, did the dishes, and then Hunter woke up, so he went to go play with him for a while.

Dakota laid down and fell asleep
| |

(I have an idea so timeskipping to the next day. If you don't wanna, lemme know,) Nate was making breakfast the next morning when his phone pinged. He checked it, seeing a notification, 'Hunters Birthday'. Not his baby Hunter, his deceased brother Hunter. Nate sucked in a breath. He dropped everything, wrote out a note saying, 'Running an errand, be back later', and left.

Dakota woke and saw the note a bit later, curious as to where he was going. She texted him. You okay?
