Sage slept for a few hours, until he woke up from hearing the little one wake up and start whimpering. He dragged himself out of the bed so he wouldn't start crying and wake up Anya, who was still sound asleep. He gave the boy his bottle and then decided to stay there sitting next to the crib so he wouldn't wake up Anya at any point through the night. He really didn't sleep much...any time he drifted off the boy would wake up again and want a bottle. He ended up passing out with a bottle in his hand, sitting up and leaning against the crib with his head resting on his arms, which were over the side of the crib. One hand held the bottle, the other was dangling near the boy. He'd passed out arounz six in the morning...no doubt Anya would find him like this, but he didn't really care...he just wanted to sleep for more than half an hour at a time.

Anya slept pretty soundly through the night and woke up at around eight in the morning. She shifted to wrap an arm around him, but when she couldn't feel him there all she could do was groan and wait for herself to wake up a bit more. Soon enough, though, the girl had her eyes set on Sage, who was passed out hanging over the crib. The girl let herself wake up a bit more before crawling out of bed and gently patting the boy on the side. "Get to bed, I can watch him for a bit," she murmured, really not too sure if the boy could even hear her. But he did need the sleep, and it couldn't be comfortable hanging over the crib like that. Well, she did want to help out a bit. Once the boy had crawled to bed again, she gently rocked the crib with a small yawn as she got her bearings before resuming Sage's position with the bottle in one hand. She gave a small smile as the child grabbed a hold of the bottle, his small hands grabbing a hold of hers, which were still wrapped around the little bottle. Sage blearily looked over at Anya when she spoke, only really noticing she was talking to him because she patted him. He muttered some form of an unintelligible "love you" before flopping back onto the bed and passing out again. He did trust Anya to care for the boy, and he supposed it wouldn't be awful to let the two of them spend some time together.. a maybe the girl would learn to like the little guy some more. Or, at all. He knew she wasn't too keen on having him brought the child back, though he did hope she'd get over it. He understood what she was thinking, he did, but he supposed he was just the more reckless of the two. More prone to dumb, in the moment ideas...like bringing a baby back to the castle with him. He was grateful for the rest though, more than he could express right then.

Anya nodded to Sage before murmuring something similar to the boy and looking back to the child, who was still trying to grab her fingers. Anya just stared down at the boy before giving a bit of a smile... she still didn't agree with the whole baby thing, but she could admit that the little man was cute. After about a minute of the child clawing her, she scooped him up in her arms before wandering over to the little couch in the corner and sat herself down with the boy cradled on her lap, gently holding his head up and he downed a few mouthfuls of milk. Anya couldn't help the small smile on her face as the little person curled against her to get comfortable. The baby was still so small... he couldn't be more than a couple of weeks old, so it was surprising he'd lasted so long without anyone taking care of him.

Sage didn't let himself sleep for more than a few hours, though he had to admit he did sleep well while he was passed out on the bed. But, he also knew the baby would have to get burped and would need a diaper change eventually, and it didn't seem fair to Anya to have her put up with all of that while he slept. So he eventually dragged himself out of the bed to go sit with Anya and the baby ....which he still had to come up with a name for. "Looks like you're getting along better today," he murmured in a sort of teasing way once he plopped down next to Anya, before yawning with a groan. "I love kids, but I don't miss the sleepless nights," he sighed wearily, giving some sort of a chuckle. The baby, though, heard his voice and turned to him, cooing happily as a grin spilt his face. He kicked his legs around a little bit too, which was a good sign. He seemed much better than when he first went to bed ... apparently some love could definitely help a person.

Anya hummed softly before going to lean on Sage's side, still holding the little boy before closing her own eyes. "Well, I suppose he is sweet," she murmured before shaking her head, "But I still think what this is a bad idea... he needs to be with people who know what they're doing, Sage. Don't go getting yourself attached, alright?" She asked quietly as she gently played with the child's little tufts of hair. She smiled at the child's excited manner... he seemed delighted by the sight of the boy. She handed the boy back to him after a little while and just kind of pulled her legs up to curl into the boy's side. "I will help you with him, though, you know. I may not like the whole thing, but I do love you, and I don't particularly like it when you're walking around on your last legs. If you get tired, or you've had enough, I can always take over." The girl promised gently before pressing a light kiss to his cheek.

Sage have the girl a weary smile and hugged the little boy tighter as he reached for him. Don't get attached...he'd tried, but he was definitely attached. Really, he'd been attached since he first touched the boy. But he supposed it would just help make sure the boy went somewhere good. "I know," he sighed. "But thanks. I'd forgotten how much work a new baby was," he admitted sheepishly. He leaned into the girl with a slight yawn. "I have to bring him back to the doctor later today," he murmured thoughtfully. "I'll do that after breakfast," he finally mused.

Anya hummed in agreement before resting her head on his shoulder. "You did this to yourself," she giggled lightly before looking down at the baby, who by now was happily curled up next to Sage. It was definitely a rather sweet sight... she'd seen Sage with kids before, and how good he was with them, but this was just a bit different. The baby had been quiet with Anya, but he seemed happier with Sage. Anya wasn't exactly a fan of small children, but Sage seemed happy, and so did the little boy, so the girl was more than content. "You figured out a name for the little man yet? We can't keep on calling him 'the baby,'" she hummed with a small chuckle.

Sage groaned, though not in any I'll manner. "Yeah, I know," he half chuckled. Then he smiled down at the baby and poked him lightly, and the baby, in response, squealed and grabbed his finger to chew on it. Sage wrinkled his nose slightly in thought when Anya brought up a name. "I was thinking Atticus ....Att for short." He looked down at the baby and grinned. "The big A," he said in a funny voice, which sent the little boy off in another fit of squealing giggles. Sage couldn't help but laugh at the sight, already deeply in love with the little guy. Hopefully, he could find him a good home. He looked back over at Anya with a huge grin...it almost seemed like he was their child, though he knew it wasn't possible.

Anya hummed when Sage threw a name out, a bright grin crossing her face as she thought the name over and looked over at the small child. "Atticus," she repeated before reaching out and gently stroking the baby's head. "That's perfect," she chirped to Sage before pecking him on the cheek. She'd promised herself that she wasn't going to have much to do with the child, but he just seemed so... bubbly, despite being so young. His delighted squeals and giggles sounded something like music to her ears, and seeing Sage so... enchanted with the child with the little guy, admittedly brought a warm, fuzzy feeling to her chest... like her heart was lifting ever so slightly. If you didn't know any better then you'd probably think they were all a little family, despite that simply not being possible. Her eyes softened at the sight before looking away again, refusing to let herself get absorbed in this all, despite how good it all seemed. "You want to go and grab some food? I can talk to my mother about him if you'd like," she murmured quietly.
