Duncan watched the boy sleeping, slowly inching his hand out towards his and wrapping his pinky around his. His heart immediately began to race and he pulled away fast, afraid he was going to mess things up...

Axel was out cold by the time Duncan had reached for him, but even then the physical touch caused him to shift slightly towards the other boy, still asleep but a little closer to his warmth.

Duncan scooted away, letting him have his space. He was nearly falling off the bed, but he'd be fine... he curled up there and drifted off.

Axel didn't wake the rest of the night, and when he did wake the next morning Duncan was already up. He could hear him in the bathroom as he woke, eyes opening and focusing as he stretched with a soft groan before settling back down into the blankets. He was still groggy, but the sun was warm and he was comfortable and they'd had a lot of fun the night before, so he was in no rush to get up.

Duncan hadn't really slept well that night. He had been rather uncomfortable on the edge of the bed so he'd gotten up to shower. Duncan washed up and eventually got out, but he realized he forgot his clothes in the other room. So he wrapped a towel around his waist and wandered into the other room, but quickly realized Axel was awake. Embarrassed, he jumped, accidentally dropping his towel for a split second before yanking it back up quickly and surrounding himself with his wings, scurrying back into the bathroom. He blushed furiously, tears welling in his eyes before spilling over. Duncan sank to the floor in one of the corners and hid.

Axel hadn't really noticed Duncan come out of the bathroom....he'd been about to say good morning but by then Duncan had scurried back into the bathroom. He was a little confused, but he'd caught the gist of what had happened, so he got out of the bed and gathering the clothes Duncan needed. He set them outside the bathroom door with a sigh. "I didn't see anything," he noted softly to Duncan. "It's alright." Then, "I'm leaving some clothes outside the door, so you don't need to come out again if it's uncomfortable." He felt a bit bad about making him feel that way.

Duncan hid for a while, but eventually he crawled to the door, snatching the clothes quickly through the small crack he allowed in the door. Quickly, he put them on quickly and wandered back out shyly.

Axel had retreated after talking, moving back to the rest of the room and sitting down at the desk to sketch while he waited. When he heard Duncan come out, he did turn to offer him a smile. "Alright," he asked, not really sure how to comfort him...but he wanted to.

Duncan nodded silently, still extremely embarrassed. "..I'm going down for breakfast," he mumbled, wandering down to the dining hall.

Axel nodded, a soft sigh escaping him when Duncan left. He wished there was some way to help him out, but it seemed like just not talking about it was best. He hoped that was the right decision.
