Ella furrowed her brow as she took in Sages words, a little confused at first, though the frown was gone as she finally figured out what he was saying. "I've never heard of then o something like that before, especially with someone living on the streets. I don't mean to be rude but they hardly want to make contact with people who have houses let alone people that don't" she said, reading her thoughts. "Though I'll admit i'm glad you're here. I doubt i'd get by being the queen at all without you, it seems so boring and repetitive. And dangerous" she said, the words stumbling out her mouth in a rather caring tone.

Sage chuckled slightly and shrugged. "That's why they said I should be grateful," he grunted. Then he rolled his eyes. "oh please, you'd do fine. You're great at this," he told her. "Though I'm quite glad you came along when you did," he admitted, flashing her his normal grin. He closed his eyes then, sighing contentedly, just happy to be here and feel the warm sun on his face.

"I don't think so, I hate it much more than I knew i would. It's hardly bearable at this point, it's all so..boring" Ella said, stretching out the last word of her sentence to put emphasis on it. She smiled at his compliment nonetheless, looking him in the eye before he shut them. "How long are you planning on staying? It's quite nice weather, but I know the guards will get slightly agitated if we stay away for too long" she said, rethinking the already annoyed faces of the guards after they were told they had to accompany them to the house in the first place.

Sage chuckled in response to her comment, humming lightly. "Could be worse," he teased her lightly before grunting in response to her next comments, glancing over his shoulder in the direction on the guards. "they can suck it up I think," he snorted, not caring too much if they got annoyed. Unless they hit him. Then he cared a bit more. But, he was also getting hungry, so he sighed slightly in thought. "We can go back whenever," he decided with a shrug.

Ella nodded in response to Sages comments, kicking up the tiniest bit of water in the lake that her feet could reach in thought. "We could walk back now then? We've been here for a while" she smiled, lifting her legs from the edge to stand up, waiting for Sage to do the same before she spoke again. "But we could do this more often, it's fun" she added, smiling softly.

Sage nodded in agreement, sitting up with a grunt and then using the railing on the end of the dock to haul himself to his feet. He brushed his clothes off and then nodded happily in response to her comment. "It was nice," he chirped. Then he grinned. "I am ready for lunch though," he admitted with a sort of chuckle. He followed her back to the cabin happily, completely ignoring the guards' grumbling when they noticed them come back.

Ella nodded in agreement, happy to start their walk back. As they got to the door, she let Sage go through first, catching the eye of the same guard that had been staring at her before, tearing her gaze away rather quickly. She was aware they were meant to be watching over them, but this closely? Probably not. She shook off the strong state of the guard and shut the door, ignoring the grumbles as she headed into the kitchen. "I'm guessing we just grab whatever food?" she asked with a smile, leaning against the counter.

Sage couldn't help but snicker at how annoyed the guards seemed when they slid back into the house. He plopped down on a kitchen chair with a grunt, pausing for a moment to catch his breath before getting up to get food ready. He nodded in response to her comment though, humming in thought. "We could make some kind of sandwich or something," he suggested, trying to think of what was in the fridge and pantry. "I'm not sure what all's in there," he admitted with a slight chuckle.

"We could. I had no say in what food they threw in this house, it could be literally anything" she smiled, heading over to the cupboards to search. It was mostly what she was used to being given: bread, meat, a lot of fruit. She hauled the fruit basket down from on top of the cupboard and retrieved a couple things from it, standing back. "I'll just find something later" she sighed, picking at the apple she had in her hand tentatively.

Sage chuckled slightly at her comment, which admittedly sounded slightly annoyed. "We could send the guards shopping," he noted with amusement. "See how they manage," he added with a sort of a snicker. He couldn't see them trying to shop, especially not with eachother. But he grunted and nodded in response to her comment, holding his hands out so she could toss him an apple. "That's fine with me," he chirped, easily catching the fruit.
