Sage grunted and nodded, following Anya back to the castle, hugging the little one close to his chest along the way. The baby was still whimpering....no doubt he was starving, as his mother had been dead for quite some time. But hearing Sage's heartbeat seemed to calm the child, so if that's what helped them so be it. Once he got the boy cleaned up and fed, and happy, then he could work on finding a good home for the lad. He wished desperately he could keep him already ...but that wouldn't be giving him a good life. Besides, he himself would be gone in a few years, and the boy would be met with the exact same fate. Hopefully, he could give the boy to a household a bit higher up than the slums, where he'd be loved and cared for properly. He briefly wondered if Charlotte's parents would help him out. People would listen more to a royal family than a tavern boy....be more willing to help out. Maybe Charlotte's parents would even adopt the lad...but no, they had a child, and he didn't want to ask them. He barely knew them...and while he knew they loved Charlotte, he couldn't just walk over and offer up a baby. Whatever, he'd take care of that later.... right now he just needed to get the child cleaned up and fed, and probably rested as well.

Anya pretty much got back to the castle without speaking a word to the boy... she wasn't angry, not at all, but to be honest, she didn't think this was a good idea... she didn't want the child to starve, but in truth, she didn't want it in the castle either. It wasn't a particularly nice place to be as a child, but it was safer than the slums so she wasn't going to turn around and tell him to leave the child to die. She wasn't going to have anything to do with it though, she'd promised herself that. "Have fun with that," she grunted once she got back, splitting up with the boy, leaving him in the courtyard before going off to the kitchen to drop the basket and the little boxes.

Sage grunted when Anya spoke, already heading off to care for the child. He headed straight for the kitchen, giving the cooks a sheepish grin as they all turned to glare at him. He deserved that one, as often as he raised the kitchen. "Uhh.. you don't have milk by any chance do you? And a bottle or two?" He held the baby up. The cooks started at him for a few moments before grabbing a thing of milk. Sage waited though alibet a bit impatienly. He muttered a thanks when they gave him a tray full of warm milk and bottles and then bolted back to his room, where he set the baby in the tub and cleaned him up before wrapping him up in a clean blanket and sitting down to feed the boy. Once that had all been done, the lad fell asleep quickly, and Sage was really content just to hold him, stroking his little tufts of hair gently.

Anya made her way to her room to get showered and changed... she was still exhausted, and she didn't exactly have the energy to do much else. She was hungry, though, so she made her way to the dining hall to pick up a plate or so for dinner. It wasn't late, exactly, but she was starving and tied, so a bit of food would be good for her. She did pick up another plate, though, for Sage. She didn't expect he'd be leaving the baby too much, and she did want him to eat. Even if it wasn't straight away, he could pick at it later on. She quietly wandered over to his room and knocked on the door with her foot before gently pushing it open. "Hey," she murmured lightly before placing a plate on his side table, then wandering over to his side to place a peck on his forehead. "He looks comfortable," she regarded with a light smile.

Sage gave the girl a weary smile when she came in. He'd expected her to just go to her room, so it was nice to see her. "He's better, but he needs to eat more before falling asleep," he half complained. He realized that Anya had the same complaint about him and his tiny appetite. He looked over at the plate and sighed before picking up a small grape cluster and nibbling at the grapes. "Thanks," he sighed, exhausted but not willing to fall asleep just yet. "I'll bring him to the doctors in a bit, while he's asleep. Make sure he's alright." He didn't really have the energy but it needed to get done.

The girl nodded slightly before cocking her head at the child and then looking at the milk bottles. "Is the milk warm?" She asked quietly before picking up a bottle. "He might drink more if it is," she shrugged before placing it back down again. The little boy would probably do with being seen to by the doctor, but she didn't expect the man would do too much. He couldn't really, not unless the boy was healthy enough. "When I want you to eat I normally just force-feed you, but I don't suppose it'd work for this guy," she hummed with a chuckle.

Sage nodded and stifled a yawn. "The cooks were nice enough to warm it up," he told her before chuckling at her next comment. "I think he's just not used to eating very much. It'll get better with time," he murmured, looking down at the boy who looked peaceful in his arms. His face softened slightly...he probably shouldn't be getting so attached, but he couldn't help but fall madly in love with the little guy. "We'll work at it. He needs a name though."

The girl nodded and gave a slight smile to the boy before pouting at the baby. "Maybe he's just like you, stubborn and won't eat," she teased before looking around the room. It was still a tip, and she had to admit it was stressing her out. She wrinkled her nose before going over to the little pile of clothes on the floor and starting to fold them up and put them on a chair to take them away later. "If you name him you'll want to keep him," the girl noted with a teasing grin. But, she did suppose he couldn't keep on calling the child 'him' or 'it.' "Pick something, he's your kid." she shrugged before going back over to sit with him.

Sage chuckled at Anyas little tease and then watched her head over at start cleaning. He was fine with things being a mess, but he supposed he didn't mind it cleaner either. He grinned tiredly and shrugged. "I'll think of something eventually," he said, words broken by a type of yawn. Any other time he'd have leaned into Anya for a cuddle, but he didn't really want to fall asleep right then, so he settled for a peck on the cheek. "I'll stop by the doctors quick and then I'll be back. You can always stay if you want," he told the girl, standing up and heading to the door. Hopefully, the boy would be fine. He needed to find clothes for him too, as he couldn't always be wrapped up in a blanket. He wandered down to the doctor's tiredly before poking his head into the office and knocking on the door with a knuckle to alert the doctor of his presence. He was just writing things down, so hopefully he wasn't too busy.

The girl smiled and gave a small nod. "I'll wait," she murmured quietly before giving a small wave and flopping back on the bed, attempting to get comfortable on the bed, though every one of her muscled screamed at the movement. She did wonder what the doctor would say about the whole baby thing... but maybe the man might know a couple who needed someone to finish off their little family. Anyone he would know would give the child a good life, she was sure of it. When the man heard the knock on the door, he gave a slight grunt for whoever it was to come in before looking over his chair, only seeing Sage at a first glance. "What on earth do you need now?" the man asked with a slight chuckle before taking another look back at the boy, spotting the baby wriggling a little in his arms. His eyes widened before giving the boy a questioning look. "What've you done?" He asked with furrowed brows.
