Celeste smiled, glancing up at him. "She's not like everyone else either. She was changed by the Empress' son, Malakai Meadows. He's an awful person. He took advantage of her and bit her while doing so, ruined her life,"

Sage let out a soft breath and shook his head. "That's terrible," he murmured softly. "At least she seems happy now," he noted, thinking of the house and Xander.
| |

Celeste nodded, "Yeah, she is," she hummed. "She failed her final test to become an assassin, but she's been moving around the world ever since. She met Xander a few weeks ago. I'm happy they found each other. Odessa seems a lot happier with him,"

Sage hummed with a sort of nod. "I suppose it's hard to ally yourself with the family of someone who hurt you so badly," he reasoned. Then he nodded. "They're good people," he noted softly. "I do feel bad about barging in unannounced though," he admitted

"She doesn't mind," she reassured him. "She and Xander want kids, but she can't have any. She's glad to have the kiddos around. And she's happy to help, she know how awful it is to be manipulated by the Empress and her family,"

Sage hummed softly with a small nod. "If they get hurt..." He sort of trailed off and but his lip. "I can't just sit around and wait for them to find us," he groaned, raking a hand through his hair. Celeste and the kids were vulnerable....and he didn't want to leave them or anything....but he needed to do something about all this.
| |

"What do we do?" she whispered. "These kids are gonna come soon, I don't want you to miss it," she ran a hand over her belly.

Sage frowned softly and nodded. "I don't want to miss it either," he noted. "And I can't just ...leave you alone to fend for yourselves," he added with a frustrated growl. He wasn't frustrated at anyone but their situation....not that they could control it. "Are we even near a hospital," he asked after a moment, suddenly panicking. He didn't know where they were ...he wasn't sure he could get them to a doctor
| |

"20 minutes away from the hospital," she replied reassuring him. She wasn't nervous about the birth, she was worried about everything else.

Sage chewed on his bottom lip until he tasted blood, then moved to just fidgeting with his hands. "Good," he noted. At least that was one thing off his plate...there was a doctor nearby if needed. He knew she couldn't die giving birth but ....still, it made him nervous.
