Duncan watched on, slowly trailing after him, smiling softly.

Axel scurried around happily, clearly back in his element. That was, outside. He could figure out pretty much any terrain, as long as he could do what he wanted out there. He did glance back to make sure Duncan didn't mind him scrambling around like that fairly often, but the other boy had a smile on his face, so he continued to do that for hours, until he'd gotten his energy out and has slowed down, staying more at Duncan's pace.

Duncan smiled, now walking beside him. "Had fun?" he asked softly.

Axel chuckled softly and nodded. "It was nice to get out of your room, as much as I enjoy being there with you," he noted, a faint smile lingering on his face as he wandered beside Duncan, close enough for their shoulders to sometimes brush together. "Thanks," he added, just peering up to look at the stars that were visible over the tree tops.

Duncan smiled, blushing a little. "Of course, anything for you," he murmured.

Axel felt his own cheeks heat up at Duncan's comment, turning to face him after a moment. "Well....it meant a lot," he murmured. Then, "how long can we stay out here before someone notices anyway," he asked curiously, knowing they'd been out for a while now.

Duncan smiled and chuckled. "Sure, lets do that,"
| |

Axel just chuckled and nodded, walking alongside Duncan until he started to slow down, his energy having been used up. It felt good, of course, but it was also nearing sunrise and he was exhausted so he hummed softly, noting a "we should head back before we can't just fly back in through the window with empty streets," to Duncan, chuckling softly.

Duncan nodded, harnessing up. When they both were ready they took to the skies, flying back to the palace and straight into his room via his window. He climbed out of the harness and collapsed onto the bed, exhausted.

Axel waited for Duncan to get his harness on before stepping into his part of the harness and letting Duncan lift off. He nearly fell asleep on the way back, and sort of just stumbled onto the bed and collapsed there, passing out as Duncan flipped into it next to him. He was exhausted, but it had been a good night.
