Luca slept peacefully, warm and happy in her arms.

Laurel slept the best that she had in a long time while holding him. She knew he needed her right then, and she'd needed him just as bad.

Luca actually slept in that morning, sleeping peacefully in her arms.

Laurel woke up early as she always did, but she didn't get up. She stayed there, watching his sleeping face and holding him close. She felt so strongly for him, especially after seeing him so raw. A part of her wanted to be there always to comfort him on days like yesterday. To hold him every night as they fell asleep...

Luca woke a little while later. He poked his head up and scooting away to stretch and then lie there on his own with some distance between them. He wanted to cuddle, but he had to remember that she was his woman and nothing more. "Hey," he said casually.
Laurel smiled faintly when she realized he was waking up, but as he scooted away and put distance between them her smile slowly fell into a neutral expression. No matter what we do, we will never be anything... "Good morning," she replied quietly before sitting up and stretching.

"Morning," Luca replied, watching her. "How'd you sleep?"
Laurel ran a hand through her slightly messy hair before glancing towards him, her heart thumping a little heavier in her chest. "Quite well.. I don't sleep that good often. What about you?" She asked, leaning back onto one of his pillows.

Luca watched her, she was gorgeous, even when she just rolled out of bed. "Actually, I slept well too," he replied. "Thanks for yesterday, by the way. You didn't need to do that,"
"I'm glad to hear it." Laurel looked at him and smiled gently before shaking her head. "I know I didn't need to, but I wanted to. You needed someone, and I know what that's like," she told him pausing for a moment as she relaxed in his bed. "Anytime you just want to be held or cuddled, I'll be there, if you want me."
