Camery's brows knit together as her thoughts swirled, the weight of everything they couldn’t say or do pressing down on her. She shifted closer, resting her head gently under his chin, finding a fragile sense of comfort in his warmth. His words about someday lingered in her mind, tugging at her emotions in ways she didn’t quite know how to process. Someday? That wasn’t supposed to be an option for her. Not in her world. A soft, bittersweet laugh escaped her lips as she tilted her head slightly to look up at him. "Someday?" she murmured, her voice tinged with quiet disbelief. "Someday I'm going to get married to some rich old dude, have a stupid amount of children, and play the role of a queen," she mused, her tone light but her words heavy with resignation. Her lips quirked up in a small smile, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. She leaned up to press a soft kiss to his lips, the gesture filled with a tenderness that contradicted her words. "As much as I wish you could be there, babe, I doubt it," she whispered against his lips, her voice quiet and pained. The truth of her situation clashed with the longing in her heart, leaving her caught between what she wanted and what she knew would never be hers. |

Camery Valatieri - Camery gazed at him, her lips curving into a faint smile, though her brow remained slightly furrowed. She let out a quiet sigh, leaning into his chest with a soft hum, the warmth of his embrace offering her momentary comfort. "I’m certain this won’t last long," she murmured, the words slipping from her lips with a trace of reluctance, her smile slowly fading. The truth was, she did love him. She wanted him beside her, wanted to build a life with him. The thought lingered, but there was a deeper, unspoken reality they both understood all too well. Her eyes lingered on his face for a beat longer, the smile returning briefly before it faded again, replaced by the weight of truth. "Babe, I love you more than anything," she said, her voice low but sincere. "But we both know where this is headed. In a few years, you're going to want a family, and I can't be the one you build that with. You'll stop working for me, and I'll be forced to marry, to protect the kingdom. And that... that’s where it all ends." With a final sigh, she stood, the moment slipping away as she moved to clean up and prepare for the approaching nightfall. The sky outside had already started to darken, and they should probably get back to the castle. |

"What?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, disbelief laced into every syllable. Her brows knit tightly together, the corners of her mouth pulling downward as her emotions began to swirl. "You're leaving?" she repeated, the crack in her voice betraying her attempt to stay composed. Her arms instinctively crossed over her chest, as though trying to shield herself from the impact of his words. She blinked rapidly, her gaze dropping to the floor for a moment before snapping back to him, searching for answers. "How long have you known?" she asked, her voice quieter now but filled with a quiet urgency, the betrayal seeping into her tone. |

The space between them grew, and she quickly turned her back to him, her movements swift as she pulled her dress on and tossed his shirt toward him. "So you've known since last night, and you waited until now to say anything?" Her voice was barely a whisper, heavy with a mix of sadness and confusion. It came out quieter than she’d intended, a hint of frustration creeping in despite herself. She stared at him when she turned back, the silence stretching between them. He looked at her, his face etched with something that tugged at her heart. It almost looked like he was going to cry, and the thought of it made her chest tighten. She didn’t want him to cry, didn’t want him to feel like this. She wasn’t angry—not really. Just... surprised, and maybe a little hurt. The sadness in her heart twisted, and she hated the way it felt. "Why would you wait until right now?" she muttered, her voice barely audible, as she focused on fixing her hair, the motions mechanical as she tried to steady herself. She turned toward the door, stopping just before she stepped out, waiting for him to follow. "Let’s just go," she whispered, the words falling quietly into the space between them, her heart heavy with the unspoken weight of everything that lingered in the air. |

Camery wandered back towards the castle, her mind wandering. He was leaving in just two weeks and he thought mot to tell her? What? Because they could have one good day? Fuck. She settled in her room, her eyes wide as she watched him say goodbye to her. She shook her head and wandered over to him, wrapping her arms firmly around him. "Goodnight," she whispered. "Love you,"'she muttered softly, her eyes soft as she moved to shut the door and wander off to get ready for bed. She didn't want to leave him upset, and she did still love him. |
