He grinned at her exit, nestling into the pillow. Which over the next hour ish maybe he was tossing and turning around the bed. Under the covers, without a pillow, with two pillows, with background noise. He got up and splashed water on his face at some point but to no avail. He was just laying there staring up at the ceiling defeatedly.

Eventually, Tempe came rocketing back down to Earth. Quite literally, rocketing, because she ended up crashing into the pavement from the lack of brakes in midair. Flying was hard sometimes. She shook it off and brushed the gravel off, trying not to look to embarrassed as she slipped back into the motel room, gently shutting the door behind her. She turned and blinked when she saw his eyes simply staring at the ceiling, tilting her head. "That popcorn ceiling is really interesting, huh?" She teased softly, making her way over to the edge of his bed with her head cocked.

Nate sat up slightly as the door opened, quiet or not. And tired or not he was still quite on edge. He laid back down. "Apparently more interesting than sleeping. Usually if I stare long enough I'll fall asleep." He rubbed his face with both hands. He was back out from under the covers, the leather jacket had been over his top half but was fallen over to the side when she walked in.

"That's an interesting theory. Doesnt seem like it works very well, though." Tempe smiled, sitting gently on the side of his bed and reaching over to tug the leather jacket on top of him more. "Not a blanket person, either?" She teased, gesturing to the covers beneath him.

"More boring than counting sheep." Nate said sarcastically. He looked down as she pulled the jacket over him. He looked slightly confused, pulling it up himself as well. "At least I'm not sleeping on the floor." He teased.

"Could be worse, I guess." Tempe teased, giving a slightly tired sigh. "Do you want some help going to sleep?" She asked lightly, tilting her head down at him.

He laid his head back, crossing his ankles. "I mean I wouldn't mind falling asleep." He said with a slight smile, amused tone, he wasn't really expecting that she could do anything for him.

"Consider it done." Tempe said lightly, simply reaching forward and pressing the tip of her index finger to his forehead, gently running her finger tip down his nose and then pulling her hand away. The effect was immiediate, with an overwhelming feeling of heaviness that just forced his brain to shut down. She waited for a moment to make sure he was asleep. He lifted his head slightly and watched her hand for a moment, crossing his eyes. Then he looked at her face quite confused. He very honestly didn't have enough time to react as soon as she touched him. His head loosely and hesitantly dropped back onto the pillow, and his eyes shut, his head angled away from the other bed.

Tempe watched him for a moment, waving her hand in front of his face before accepting that he was asleep. She stood quietly and crawled into her own bed, giving a small sigh and staring at the ceiling for a few moments before she closed her eyes.
