Sage let out a light hum of amusement in response to her comment, giving her a grin. "You started it," he noted with a laugh. "I think you're the distraction," he added, a laugh still in his voice. Of course they'd moved on by then, as their minds had both turned towards the potential of a good dessert. "Well, I can't say I've had any of those things, besides maybe cake once as a kid," he msued after a moment. "Make whatever you think you want most," he added with a shrug, rolling onto his back and stretching slightly. He had to admit he was a little sore...he hadn't slept with anyone in a while, so it was safe to say twice in the last 24 hours was a lot more than he was used to. He didn't mind, it was just rather funny. "I think we both deserve a cake," he agreed lightly. Then he wrinkled his nose. "I'm not sure I trust myself baking though," he admitted with a sheepish chuckle. "I'm terrible in the kitchen."

Jora raised an eyebrow at Sage's words, a small smile playing at the corner of her lips. "Distraction, huh?" she teased, crossing her arms over her chest. "Maybe you're just trying to blame me for your lack of focus." She watched as he stretched out, his expression shifting slightly—probably from the same kind of exhaustion she was feeling. Not that she’d say anything about it. When he mentioned cake, her mind flickered to all the possibilities. Cake *was* tempting. She didn’t have a huge sweet tooth, but it was hard to deny the allure of something fresh from the oven. She could practically taste it already. "I think you’re probably right. A cake sounds perfect," she said, uncrossing her arms and sitting up a little straighter. "And hey, baking is an art, not a science, right? If you're bad in the kitchen, I can at least teach you the basics. We'll make it together—no pressure." She shot him a wink, amused by his self-deprecating humor. "And trust me, you’re not the only one who’d rather be good at cooking than actually be good at cooking." She glanced over at him, lips curling into a smirk. "But if you’re serious about that cake, I’ll take the lead."

Sage wrinkled his nose slightly in response to her comment, an amused look crossing his face. "That was more than a normal, regular distraction," he protested with a laugh. "If I came nuzzling up to you like that you wouldn't know what to do with yourself either," he added, rolling over so he could stand up and go find his clothes, which she'd tossed across the room, flicking his hair behind his shoulder so he could actually see when he bent over to grab them. His hair was down to his waist...something that caught him off guard for a moment before he shrugged it off. He supposed he just wasn't sued to wearing it down...it was hard to fight with. And yet he'd never wanted to cut it shorter. It was rather odd, but he didn't care too much. "That's fine," he hummed lightly. It would be a good way to spend their time together. She could try and teach him to at least not screw it up completely. "I can decorate it after fine, but I wouldn't expect too much before that though," he mused lightly, wandering over towards the kitchen to peer into the ingredients they had.

Jora watched him as he moved to gather his clothes, a soft smirk tugging at her lips. He was always so confident, but there was a hint of playfulness in his eyes that she appreciated. She shook her head, turning back to the counter where she had already begun to prepare the ingredients for the cake. “Don’t worry, Sage. You won’t screw it up completely,” she teased, voice light and easy. “At least, I’ll make sure you don’t. Just… follow the steps, alright? No improvising.” She could tell he wasn’t exactly *thrilled* about the whole cake-baking business. He was probably more used to fighting demons or sparring, not whisking eggs and mixing flour. But that’s what made it fun—getting him to step out of his comfort zone. It was an odd sort of bonding, but she liked it. As he wandered over, peering into the ingredients, Jora gestured to the bowls in front of her. “Alright, first step: flour, sugar, baking powder. These are your base. Don’t try to skip any, even if it seems boring. You mess with the foundation, and the whole thing will collapse. Literally.” She glanced at him, lifting an eyebrow. “Now, I’ve got the dry ingredients ready to mix. I want you to grab the eggs and the butter. Don’t go cracking the eggs on the counter like some people—use the edge of the bowl.” She gave him a pointed look. “We’re aiming for a cake, not scrambled eggs, Sage.” Jora leaned back slightly, hands on her hips, waiting to see if he’d follow her instructions or try to wing it. She’d already anticipated he’d want to go off script, but she wasn’t going to let him get away with it—not this time.

Sage chuckled softly in response to her comment, wandering over and peering at what she already had there and grunting when she mentioned getting the eggs. "Long as it gets in the flour stuff its all the same, isn't it," he sort of muttered, eyeing the mixture warily. He knew enough to pull his hair back though...neither of them would particularly fancy hair in the cake, no matter how much she liked him. He sighed though, and moved to grab the eggs, holding the carton on one end and tossing it onto the counter. It was a gentle toss, but still a toss. Most of them would probably be fine. He reached for the butter then, wandering back over to her and whatever she already had put together. Though, then he heasitated, glancing between the eggs and butter. "Which one first," he askes after a moment, clearly trying to process everything in front of him. He'd never baked anything....hardly ever cooked anything. The one time he'd been in a kitchen he'd accidently set the soup on fire, somehow, so he really did know nothing about cooking. Or baking. Or kitchens, to be completely honest.

Jora gave a small, amused smile at Sage's careful movements, watching him eye the mixture like it was about to bite him. She had to give him credit for trying, though. He wasn’t *completely* clueless. "Eggs go in first," she said, not quite laughing but her tone soft with amusement. “You don’t wanna add the butter until the eggs are mixed in, or it’ll be all clumpy. Trust me, I’ve learned that the hard way." She motioned to the bowl with the mixture, but not in a bossy way. She wasn’t about to lecture him—he was trying, and that was enough. When he hesitated, looking back and forth between the eggs and the butter, Jora leaned in just a little closer, her hands casually resting on the counter. "Don’t worry, we’ll get it. Just... crack 'em in. I’ll show you how to beat 'em after." She kept her voice light, a quiet reassurance in her tone. She was actually kind of enjoying this—the fact that he was making an effort, even if it was a little clumsy. It made her feel oddly protective over this weird little kitchen experiment they were doing. "Hey, don’t stress too much," she added, glancing at him with a teasing grin. "The worst thing that could happen is it tastes like... well, like whatever we messed up." She let the comment hang there, not sure how he'd take it. But she wasn’t exactly worried.

Sage sort of blinked at her as she told him which went in first, and he looked down at the butter in confusion. "how's this gonna get mixed up in that," he asked, setting it to the side and reaching for the egg carton, sort of heasitating as he tried to figure out which egg he should be grabbing, eventually just grabbing one from the middle of the carton. Of course, he hadn't expected to be that...fragile....so when he picked it up it sort of jsut broke in his hand and he let out a yelp of surprise, dropping it like it was hot or something, letting out a wild string of curses as he lept backwards. It was rather dramatic, but for one, that had definitely surprised him, and for two...it just felt weird. Slimy and cold and just...not what he had expected at all. Jora was laughing, and he couldn't help but chuckle along, a slightly embarrassed blush forming on his face. He wiped the egg off his hands, onto his pants, heasitantly reaching for another one, this time grabbing it with his thumb and forefinger, trying rather hard not to break this one. He sort of just slowly moved it over to the bowl, then looking back over at her in defeat. He really had no clue what he was doing, though he was sure that was probably obvious. But how was he supposed to crack it where it got in the bowl and not on him? Or without eggshells in the batter? That wouldn't taste good, right?

Jora couldn't help but let out another laugh as Sage stood there, staring at the broken egg like it had just betrayed him. It was so...endearing, watching him try to figure out something so simple, yet so foreign to him. She leaned against the counter, arms crossed, still smiling as he fumbled with the second egg. His hesitance was almost cute—like he was a little nervous about cracking it open and unleashing another disaster. She stepped forward just a bit, close enough to reach out and guide his hand if needed. “Alright, alright, calm down," she teased, her voice light with amusement. "First off, you're holding it like it's a grenade or something.” She laughed again, her voice softening. "Just give it a tap, not a crush. On the edge of the bowl, not in your hand." She watched him carefully, both amused and a bit proud. He was trying. "You gotta crack it in half, like a shell... not destroy it." Jora wasn’t exactly an expert, but she knew enough to help him out. “And as for the eggshells? You just have to be careful when you crack it. If some get in, it’s no big deal—you just fish 'em out. But don't stress about it. Cooking's not a science experiment." She raised an eyebrow at him, trying to make him feel less like he was failing. "Besides, I doubt anyone's gonna care if your eggs have a little extra 'flavor' in them."

Sage sort of heasitated as she reached over to guide his hand slightly, sort of eyeing the egg as she mentioned not being so nervous about it. "It kind of is a grenade," he grumbled, though his voice wasn't upset at all. He moved to tap the egg on the edge of the bowel after a moment, knowing on the lip ring. He was probably concentrating much harder than he needed to....but he did want to figure this out, at least a little bit. It cracked, barely split in half, but he managed to fumble the egg insides into the bowl. It definitely wasn't pretty, but it was in the bowl, and the shell was outside the bowl. He tossed the leftover shell into the sink with a huff of air. "How many of these do we need to do," he asked, turning back to her, wiping his hands on his pants, eyeing the open egg carton. He couldn't say he particularly enjoyed cracking eggs, but he didn't dislike it either. His brain just hurt a little bit. It was slightly amusing though, and he was enjoying spending the time with Jora. He was very giving her some entertainment.

Jora watched the way Sage hesitated, his hand hovering over the egg like it was a live bomb about to go off. She couldn’t help the soft smile that tugged at her lips as he grumbled about it being a grenade. She’d heard that analogy before, but it was cute hearing him say it out loud. Still, it was clear he was giving it his full attention, which was probably more than the task required. She could tell he didn’t want to mess it up, but she knew he was overthinking it a little. She stayed quiet as he tapped the egg against the bowl, almost holding her breath, watching the crack form. It wasn’t the cleanest break, but he got it in. The shell went into the sink with a huff, and she snorted a little, amused by the whole thing. “Just one more,” she said, trying not to laugh too much. She leaned against the counter, arms crossed, but her eyes soft with fondness. "Don’t worry. You’ve got this." It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough, and the way Sage was fidgeting, trying to figure it out... well, it was charming in its own way. He might not love cracking eggs, but the fact that he was putting in the effort made her appreciate the moment even more.
