She took his hand and pulled herself up onto her feet, her legs still trembling. Florida didnt let go of his hand for a moment but eventually she ley her arm fall to her side, her other hand holding onto the bouquet of wildflowers as she walked beside him. She had to take a few more steps than he had to just to get the same distance. Her mind was sinnig as she walked. Why had he kissed her? Did he like her? Was it impulse? She shook her head

Sage didn't talk until they got back to the hospital, where he murmured "all the ashes are in here," to her, gesturing with his head to where the bottles were at. He kept his gaze averted too, figuring she'd be mad or upset or....maybe all of it. He shouldn't have done that, she probably hated him now. And he probably deserved it. But these people still deserved to be buried. So that's what they'd do.

She stopped at the ashes, taking a jar in her free hand. "Where are we putting them?" she asked quietly. she put the flowers down and lifted a singular flower from the bunch

Sage scooped up the rest of the bottle, biting his lips as he thought. "along the wall, outside of the hospital," he decided after a moment. "That way they won't be dug up by bombs or anything," he added softly. Hopefully this all worked.

She nodded and gathered the flowers, folowing him to the new burial grounds. She took a bottle from his arms and placed it in a spot, giving each bottle about a foot of space. "So they each have their own makeshift grave" she looked over at Sage for a split second, her cheeks turning red again. she hid her face, setting a flower by each bottle. "When you start making holes I'll plant each of these flowers since they still have roots"

Sage wandered out of the hospital with a nod, showing her the line where they'd bury the ashes. "right," he murmured with a nod, moving to make the holes they needed, though not really concentrating on it. He was still thinking about how the girl felt about the kiss. If she'd leave the safety of the hospital because of it. What if it was his fault?

She slowly placed the bottles in their holes, covering them with dirt. The silence was uncomfortable, but she dealt with it. What was going through Sage's head? Was he freaking out like she was? She took a flower and gently placed it in a tiny hold over each grave, covering the roots with dirt. She cleared her throat and looked over at him for a second before returning to her work

Sage finished the last hole and then sat back, letting her plant the last of the flowers before moving to stand up with a sigh, though all of a sudden pain laced through his torso and he fell to his knees again with a grunt. Shit. Had he been hit? How long had it been that he'd been bleeding? Was he even bleeding? He wasn't sure, and now his mind was too sluggish to really think about it

Florida brushed her hands off on her pants then stood a fraction of a second before Sage. As soon as he fell she was by his side, prying his hands away and scanning his body. She found the spot on his shoulder first that was still bleeding. Flo put pressure on it. "Shhh" she eased, placing one hand on the back of his shoulder so she could keep the pressure. "Where else is it?" She asked suddenly

Sage took a few shaky breaths, trying to focus his words enough to form a scentence. Man, either he'd been hit in the head pretty good or he'd been bleeding more than he'd thought. At her comment, he sort of just sook his head with a wheeze. "Dunno. Am I bleeding anywhere else," he got out, suddently worried that if he'd gotten hit with something in the chest, he could be bleeding internally. He could have collapsed a lung. There were lots of things that could be making drawing a breath so hard and hurt so much.
