Ella had been awake for a little while early in the morning, and she watched as Sages eyes fluttered open for a couple seconds. Once he had drifted back off to sleep, she let a small smile break out onto her lips, and drifted off too. A couple hours later, she was awoken by a loud banging on the door, and it took a good five minutes for the girl to haul herself out of bed after she had untangled herself from Sage and open the door. It was just one of the guards checking on her, though that wasn't exactly his job, and she did well in shooing him away with quick conversation, then just heading back to the wdge of the bed.

Sage sort of groaned when he heard the guard at the door, and rolled over onto his back once he felt Ella slip out of bed with a sigh, rubbing his eyes and then looking over at her once she closed the door again. "Are they always that loud," he grumbled, though they both knew the answer to that was yes. Though, a quick glance at the clock told him it wasn't super early or anything, so they should probably get up anyway. So, he sort of sat up, though Ella had come back by then so he was admittedly rather reluctant to actually get up.

Ella nodded, an almost apologetic smile on her lips as she looked at Sage. "I'll just tell them to quit doing that so early next time" she said, rubbing the corner of her eye. She picked at the fabric on her clothes gently, looking down at her knees. "So did you sleep well?" she asked, a slight blush on her cheeks as she asked. It felt strangely nice waking up with Sage so close to her, and she could only hope he felt somehow the same else it would be a little awkward. A couple months or so ago Ella would have dreaded being so close to any man, so this feeling was as scary as it was strange.

Sage sort of grunted and then nodded with a sort of yawn. "We needed to get up at some point anyway," he admitted with a shrug. His cheeks colored a bit too when she asked how he felt ....his love life had really always been as bad as it could get , he supposed, so it was definitely strange to sleep curled up with her like that. But....he felt safe around her, so it was honestly pretty nice. He bobbed his head up and down in a nod and offered her a grin. "You make a pretty good heater for poor old me," he joked lightly, figuring she'd be a bit nervous about it, just as he was. Maybe that would help.

"I'm honoured" Ella smiled, going along with his joke absentmindedly. In all honesty the more he joked, the less nervous she always seemed to become, and she was grateful for that. "As nice as it is, we're basically stuck by ourselves for god knows how long. I have no idea if we're even allowed to leave without a guard" she sighed, looking out the window she had been catching the eye of the guards yesterday, though he seemed to have finally settled somewhere else. The air outside looked crisp and cold though it was fairly warm, and she scanned the forest a little bit away from the house.

Sage chuckled slightly when she carried the joke on a little bit, and then grunted with a nod. "Well, I can't say there's many places I could manage to go to," he admitted. "At least not for a while." Though....sneaking off into the woods for a bit might be fun, after a bit of time. "If we don't get caught we can do anything," he mused with a sort of grin. Then he shrugged. "Also, you're the queen so if you tell them we're going on a walk and not to come they can't say no," he pointed out with a sort of shrug. It did seem nice outside....even if all they could do was go sit in the back porch.

Ella traced patterns on the windowsill in thought, listening to Sage speak. He wasn't wrong, they couldn't exactly say no to someone who was meant to be ruling the country, she just hated confrontation. Her gaze caught onto a small white bird flying through the trees into the forest, then looked back at Sage, giving a warm smile. "After we're both changed i reckon we should. I'm not sure what exactly we'd do, but it's better than being cooped up in here all day" she spoke, her tone at the end of her sentence rising to indicate the sentence being more of an offer.

Sage grunted in agreement to her comments and nodded, wandering over to peer out the window. "It seems nice enough out," he mused. "Maybe we could go down to the lake. I could probably make it down there alright," he chirped, pointing towards the corner of the lake he saw a little bit off. It was close enough that he could walk there without hurting too much by now though, so he figured it would be alright. He'd just have to be careful not to get sand in the wound somehow ...but he wasn't too worried about it. "If it's warm enough we could swim," he absentmindedly commented.

Ella was happy with his suggestion until she remembered the wound Sage had, and her expression quickly turned to that of some concern for a couple of seconds. "If you're sure you'll be okay" she smiled quietly, standing up after she had finished speaking. "We could, as long as it stays warm enough. I can't image the lake itself will be too warm, and relying on the sun in spring is sometimes not the best idea" she said, her tone soft as the words left her mouth.

Sage hummed in agreement and then chuckled. "I didn't come all the way here to lay around all day," he pointed out, moving to sort of bounce to the kitchen best he could to look for breakfast. "It's a big if," he admitted, sort of calling over to her. "We could always dip our feet in the water off the dock if it's not too warm to swim," he said with a shrug, closing the fridge to look in the pantry.
