Eventually sleep overtook me, and I drifted off with my arms crossed atop my desk, my head plopped on top.

| |

Emily couldn't sleep, tossing and turning all night before getting up the next morning to make them both breakfast
| |
| |

I stayed asleep, far off in it.
| |
| |

Emily took a plate of breakfast and a coffee and silently put it on Caden's desk in front of him before she went to go eat her own plate in the kitchen
| |
| |

Eventually I awoke, glad for the coffee as I sipped on it, eating as well before standing, slipping into the kitchen before taking care of my dishes, turning to head upstairs, pausing at the stairwell. "Hey um, i'm sorry---about last night, I shouldn't of said anything."
I murmured, heading up to go shower.

| |

Emily just listened, watched him go upstairs, and headed out to work on the cars
| |
| |

I slipped into the shower, turning the water as hot as it could go and feeling it burn across my skin, finally feeling something for the first time in what felt like ages.
| |
| |

Emily worked before eventually heading to the couch and taking a nap and giving Caden space
| |
| |

Eventually I got out, slipping into a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, seeing her asleep and staying quiet.
| |
| |

She got up a bit later and noticed Caden but didn't talk
