Sage chuckled and nodded. "Yeah," he murmured. "You go have fun for both of us." He knew the girl was probably busy and had things to do...and so did the queen, who he hadn't seen but assumed was fine since nothing else had happened. At least, not that he knew of. He let go of the girl and half rolled away, flopping onto his back and grinning over at the girl. He was glad they'd had a little bit of time to cuddle up and relax...though all he'd done was relax, but it was different somehow with Anya. "Tell Charlotte high for me," told the girl. "She's probably been bored out of her mind too," he chuckled, thinking of the girl.

Anya gave a small smile, shifting so that she was half leaning over him and resting on her forearms. "I'll tell her you miss her," she promised with a smile before slipping him another, slightly longer kiss. "See you in a bit," she hummed softly before slipping away again... she'd get some food and then maybe tend to her mother... she was still stressed out about everything, so perhaps Anya could lighten her load a little. Even if it was just the little jobs, it would give Anya something to do rather than sitting around being bored all day. She wouldn't let herself become lazy with her duties, she still had a title, and that would always come before having time to relax.

Sage hummed quietly in response to the girl, the dumb grin on his face widening when she kissed him. He reached up and patted the girl gently on the cheek before she got up and watched as she slipped out of sight before realizing how tired he'd gotten. He yawned and curled up under the covers again with a slight shiver, since he still had a slight fever. It was better though, and almost unnoticeable. He was out pretty much as soon as he closed his eyes, which surprised him a bit, though he supposed he did need the rest to heal, especially since he wasn't eating anything. He did briefly wonder why the doctor hadn't made his rounds yet, though he didn't put much thought into it.

Anya wandered off to get some food, like she'd said she would... though, she didn't manage to sit down and eat, instead, she had a couple of mouthfuls before being dragged off by her mother, who wanted to do her rounds of the castle with the girl. Normally, in the winter, she'd hate this sort of thing, but it was starting to get warmer now... not freezing, and she got to talk with the castle guards... well, a few of them, and surprisingly they'd managed to ask her about how Sage was doing. She couldn't help but feel a little bit of pride for the boy... not long ago, they would have asked her when the boy was leaving. She was proud that he'd managed to make himself some sort of friends, or at least get a few people to like and respect him a bit better. She did see the doctor running about and handing the guards that were well enough to train some form of painkiller. He looked a lot better, too, so she was glad about that. It meant he could take better care of everyone else. He briefly mentioned going to check on his wards, but he definitely looked a lot brighter in himself.

Sage slept for a while before he stirred and contented himself to drawing the horse he'd named Chaos...it was something fun to do, and he was, admittedly bored. He was warm and cozy under the blankets, though when he wriggled out he found he wasn't cold, which meant the fever had finally broken. He supposed drinking had helped with that, though he still wasn't up for eating anything. The doctor might not be super happy, but he was used to not eating much even when he was healthy, and being sick he just didn't feel up for it. Water had gotten to the point where he didn't feel like throwing it all up when he sipped a little at a time, but even the sight of the biscuits on the counter made his stomach churn dangerously. He did wonder what all was going on outside of his little bubble...there was a whole castle of activity, and he was cooped up in here. He wasn't sick anymore, so the doctor could allow some visitors. Charlotte, maybe...and her parents, who seemed to want to talk to him. Of course, he didn't really know why, but he did want to meet the girl's parents. Or at the very least see the girl herself. He missed her, he really did...he'd kind of accidentally made a strong relationship with the girl, and while he definitely didn't regret it, he wished he wouldn't have to eventually leave another sister-like figure. At least this one would be alive, though.

The doctor scooted up to the ward and picked up a couple of things for his patients. Strangely, he was excited to see people who weren't Sage. The boy was alright, but he was just about the only person he'd seen over the last few days, and the man was happy to be elsewhere, running around and starting to go back to his usual little duties. When he walked into the ward, past the little curtain tent, he was met with a grin and a huge hug from little Charlotte. The man greeted her with a smile and a soft laugh before telling her to go wait on her bed. The girl's parents were very awake now, too, sitting up and chatting away. They could leave now if they so pleased, but the doctor did want them to come in every few days so he could make sure any little deficiencies they'd picked up had stayed at bay. He saw all the worse-off guards and maids before coming back to Charlotte. "You could go see Sage now if you wanted. Take your parents along, too." He murmured lightly, to which the little girl jumped up and ran over to their beds and tugged on her father's arm, telling them to hurry up and come along.

Sage kept drawing for a while, really even past while the doctor poked his head in to check in on him. He didn't need medicine or anything, and he was pretty focused on the sketch. He was half surprised when he saw motion by the curtain, though his face lit up when he saw Charlotte come running in, yelling for her parents to follow her. She climbed up on his bed and practically threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck. He barely had time to toss his drawing to the side before she was on top of him, though he didn't mind at all. He chuckled and wrapped his good arm around the girl, glad to see her again. "How's it going, kiddo," he asked, and in response, the girl bombarded him with chatter, half of which he understood, but he really just enjoyed having the girl back with him. He was amused by how annoyed the girl seemed to be at "how very slow" her parents were in coming in to meet him.

The two slowly walked in behind the girl, seemingly a little stiff. Well, it was going to happen, they'd been stuck in bed for ages and they weren't exactly young enough to spring right up again. The woman gave a type of weary chuckle and shook her head, while the man hobbled over to the chair and pretty much collapsed into it. Welp, they'd be better soon enough, they really just had to get moving again, it shouldn't take so long. Of course, they'd med the boy - not directly, but they'd probably passed in the halls or met at Christmas and New Year. "She's been talking about you none stop," the man groaned, running his hand over his face tiredly. The woman wandered behind the chair and leaned on the back of it with a weak smile. "She says you're her best friend." A small chuckle escaped the woman, and the man nodded along. "I don't think we've met formally. Jasper and this is Edith," he pointed to his wife before sighing. "Thank you for looking after her while we were away. I know she can be a lot." The last bit was more of a jokey jab towards his daughter, though there was a small smile on his worn face.

Sage chuckled slightly when the two adults dragged themselves into the little room made by the curtains. He kind of half struggled to sit up, though when his side protested, he kind of ended up just laying down on his side in a way he could see the adults. "Really, it hasn't been a problem. She reminds me of my sister," he half chuckled. "It's nice to have the tiny child attached to me at all times," he added, giving Charlotte a slight nudge and wink. The girl, in return, huffed and crossed her arms, giving Sage a look. "Well, you can't hug me if you're dead. So maybe don't almost die next time," she told him in the way he'd come to treasure. He gave the girl a mock gasp and put his hand to his heart in mock offense. "I wasn't planning on it! I just have horrible luck!" The girl gave a disappointed shake of her head. "Then get better luck," she simply stated. "I don't think it works that way," he chuckled, patting the girl when she curled up against him again.

Something seemed to click when the girl mentioned that he needed to quit almost dying on him, at least for who was now known as Jasper. He wasn't sure if it was the same person whom the doctor had been complaining about for constantly needing his care, but it sounded like it. Besides, the boy didn't look like he'd been sheltered forever... he was covered in scars, and if he was being honest it wasn't exactly a welcoming sight. He knew that Anya had insisted on him coming back when they'd finally escaped after being trapped for so long, and while the boy seemed nice enough, he couldn't wrap his head around it. Or maybe it was because his only daughter was curled up around some strange teen, and while he was happy she was happy, he couldn't help but be a little protective of her. Charlotte was still so young, and a little... nieve, to say it nicely, so she wouldn't know bad from good if they had signs attached to them. His wife at some point had noticed the man becoming a little stiff, though, and placed one of her hands on his shoulder in a comforting way. Edith only really saw it as sweet, though she could understand the man's slight concern around it. But, Charlotte had no siblings, and it was nice to see her getting on with someone other than the snarky mini-royals that prowled the halls.
