(It's all good lol) Sage smiled sheepishly and patted the girls hand that was in his face. He supposed she knew he was going to fall asleep whether she said to or not, but he did like the fact that she paid enough attention to how tired he was getting. He shifted slightly so the girls hand was still on his face and closed his eyes. Admittedly, he fell asleep almost immediately.

Anya's thumb gently ran across his cheek as the boy drifted off, but once she was sure he was asleep, and gently pulled away again. He needed some piece... just to get some solid sleep. She could probably go read a book or something... or maybe she'd see to Charlotte and entertain her a little. Her parents were still there, but they were still pretty exhausted. And Sage didn't seem too ill anymore, nor had the doctor said she needed to retreat to her room this time. She did go pick up a book, something a little more adventurey than the previous ones before wandering back to the ward and peering over to Charlotte with a grin. She knew she wasn't exactly the girl's favourite person, but she could keep her entertained for a little while. Charlotte was probably bored anyway, all she did was play around with her teddy. And she looked almost excited to see the girl. She softly sat on the side of the girl's bed with a smile. "I thought you'd want to read a story," Anya shrugged lightly, to which the girl cocked her head before nodding. "If you read it!" the girl replied before patting the bed signalling for the girl to get comfortable... Anya was happy to read to the girl. She had nothing better to do, anyway, and it would mean the girl could use her imagination a little, too. Edited at November 13, 2022 11:09 AM by Belle

Sage slept well, having used all of his energy up he was in a relatively deep sleep pretty much right off the bat. He woke up once more, briefly, before closing his eyes again and drifting back off again. When he woke up again it was dark out, so he allowed himself to sleep more, figuring it had gotten later while he was asleep. He didn't have a clock or anything in his little room, so really he didn't know what time it was or how long he'd been asleep, he really had no idea how long he'd even been sick or behind these curtains. Really, until it was light out, he couldn't do anything but sleep even if he wanted to anyway. Maybe the doctor would let him see Charlotte and her parents the next day...he felt fine in terms of being sick by then, and he'd allowed Anya in. Besides, he was getting really bored.

Anya pretty much got comfortable and read to the girl until she fell asleep... which, unfortunately, was on Anya's chest. She didn't exactly have the heart to move the girl, so she just ended up laying there with a book in her hand until she fell asleep herself. It was dark, though, so it had to be decently late... she could probably sleep through the night. She did wonder if the doctor would let Sage out of his little makeshift room... it'd been about a week and a half, maybe longer and knowing the boy was probably driving himself completely mad. Or perhaps he'd just get rid of the curtains so he could at very least see everyone else. Charlotte's parents wanted to talk to the boy, so she was sure something like that would happen before he left.

When sage woke up again it was morning, and he felt a good deal better than the day before. No one else seemed to be up yet, so he grabbed a pencil and some paper that Anya had brought and decided to sketch Charlotte. He'd grown quite close to the little girl, and he'd missed her, so he kind of subconsciously started drawing her. After a bit he added Lizzie in, so that the two girls were playing together. They'd have gotten along so well, and it did help to draw Liz like she was still alive and well.

When Anya woke up, it was only due to the squeaking of the wheels from the apprentice's medicine trolly. It was the most god-awful sound... like nails on a chalkboard. Though, it did seem like she was one of the last awake... everyone else in the ward was stirring. Charlotte, too. The girl was sitting at her side now and seemed to be reading the book they were the night before. Well, she was trying, it looked like she was reading the same line over and over again. Anya blinked a couple of times before slowly sitting up, a slight pout on her face. "You're reading without me," she complained jokingly. She only got a wrinkled nose and a nod in reply, though. Anya stuck her tongue out at Charlotte before climbing out of bed. Maybe she'd see if Sage wanted some proper food... not whatever the ward would give him, that was all the things that no one else wanted. He might not be up to it yet, but she could bring something along for him anyway for him to pick at.

Sage had sketched out a base and had decided to add color to the drawing, since he'd decided that the graphite grey's just wouldn't do the young girls justice. The blush of the cheeks or tiny freckles or bounce of the hair ....they were things that couldn't truly be shown to the fullest in black and white. Of course, if he drew it in gray it would be fine, but he hadn't used color in a while and it would work well. Eventually, he got to the point where he was just adding in some details and it was starting to actually look like something real when Anya slipped into the curtains and a smile lit up his face.

Anya's face lit up in return when she saw Sage's smile. She'd seen him the day before, but he was somehow a little... brighter now. He was doing something too, so it was good to see. The girl wandered over and perched on the side of the bed before leaning over and pressing a lingering kiss to his lips. "Morning," she chirped before looking towards his little drawings... it was only in monochrome, but they still seemed so real. She'd always liked seeing his art... it was a little bit about him you wouldn't have expected, not from his appearance, but it somehow made him a little more... human, nearly. "Is that Liz?" she asked quietly before glancing back at him. It looked like Charlotte was there, too... she supposed the boy would have wanted the two to meet at some point. He seemed to treat Charlotte similarly to the way he did with Liz... like a sister, almost, so it seemed to fit for the both of them to be in a drawing together.

Sage felt his smile spread when the girl leaned over and kissed him ...it seemed like forever since she'd done that and they'd had time to be like that. He hummed softly and nodded in response to the girls question. "It helps to draw her like she's still here," he admitted. Drawing was definitely an outlet...a stress reliever if you will. Whenever his feelings were crazy or confusing, drawing helped calm him. Out his feelings on paper instead of keeping them cooped up in his head. "I thought that they'd love eachother so this happened."

The girl let out a soft type of chuckle. "They definitely would have gotten along," she hummed gently and shifted a little to get a better look at the drawing. "You got them both perfectly, Sage," the girl gave another smile and pecked him on the cheek. The drawing really was perfect... even Lizzie, after so long of not seeing her... every little detail was just right. Like she had been right in front of him. "You hungry? I was going to pick up something to eat for breakfast if you want anything." Maybe there'd be something he was after... he hadn't really eaten anything in a while, so there had to be something the boy was craving.
