Duncan fidgeted with his hands, staring down at them, disappointed in himself.

Axel just looked out the window, watching the people move about the town below them. He missed it...that freedom. He wasnt kept here but...he still wasn't completely free. Well, he could leave if he wanted but there was no where to go, and he would miss Duncan.

The clock ticked and Duncan stayed quiet, standing, hyperventilating, overthinking... Axel was too good for Duncan. He stayed there until the clock chimed for noon. "Um... I'm going down for lunch..." he mumbled, making his way to the door. Edited at January 31, 2026 10:46 PM by Burning Rose Equine

Axel broke out of his thoughts when the clock chimed, and he turned to glance at Duncan, who hadn't moved. He nodded and offered him a smile when he mentioned lunch, waving him off. "Go on," he mused lightly. "I'll...be here," he added. Rather lamely, too....where else would he go? Once Duncan was gone, he just sunk down onto the bed with a sigh. He really, really wanted this to work out ...so he was terrified it wouldn't. Or that something would go wrong. What if he pushed Duncan too far? What if Duncan decided romance just wasn't his thing? Or, heck, he could be caught. Locked up somewhere, maybe killed. He didn't know.

Duncan wandered down for lunch, sitting with his family and eating quietly.

Axel just lay on the bed, mind whirling with thoughts again. He wasn't sure what all was going to happen. He just hoped it all turned out ok.

Duncan brought back food for Axel and placed it on the table quietly.

Axel opened his eyes when he heard the door open, and sat up so he could shift to take the plate. "Thanks," he noted softly. He wasn't sure what it was ..but it looked good.

Duncan smiled shyly. "Yeah, of course," he smiled. Later that night, after dinner, Duncan came back with more food for him. He let Axel take his time eating before he spoke. "Want to go outside for a walk or something?" he offered.

Axel had spent the rest of his day just trying not to get too bored. When Duncan suggested a walk, he perked up with a nod. "Well have to be careful," he murmured. "Do you have a jacket with a hood I could use or something," he asked. He had pretty identify-able traits, so they'd need to be cautious. But he was interested in getting out and doing something.
