Jaden hadn't heard her, staring off into nothing with his jaw clenched so tight you could hear his teeth squeak.

Charlotte excused herself, dragging Jaden along as they walked into a corner. "I can tell she was making you nervous." She gently kissed his nose. "I'll never be like her."
She looked back and saw she had finished as they shuffled back.

"Nervous?" He asked slowly, gaze foggy as lights danced infront of him. His ears rang for a moment, eventually settling to none anymore and his vision focusing back in. "Not really, I just wasn't paying attention."

"Ok..." She murmured, looking back up at the jockey that was now talking and as he finished everything, everyone went to eat as steaks, potatoes, and other various dishes got uncovered at the catering table. Charlotte waited until the huge rush was over before following Jaden, hand in hand.

Jaden went and made his plate, grabbing a steak, some potatoes, some asparagus, and an Old Fashioned before sitting back down.

Charlotte made a small plate of food, finding some of her favorites, and got a whiskey glass before sitting back down beside Jaden. She rubbed his arm in cirles without thinking. "Hey." She said for no reason. Edited at November 18, 2025 07:10 PM by VeryCharlotte

He sat as well, the table all eating.

Charlotte ate in scilence, still rubbing his arm softly. She finished off her plate and leaned back facing Jaden.

Jaden had finished, Loki being discussed and his chances of winning. "Looks to be about 25% of making it to round three, doubt he'll place higher than eighth." The man stilled, jaw tightening as he looked up at the announcer on stage with a glare.

Charlotte noticed, scooting slightly closer. She was already tired, and done for the day. The blouse was itching around her neck, and the ring was now digging into her other finger.
