"I can't imagine what i would have done if it did open to be honest, i think we're both lucky here" Ella smiled, her tone joking. She looked into the bedroom at around the same time Sage did, raising her eyebrows slightly. She had expected just one bed, they were obviously both used to that, but the bed was quite small, and she was sure there was no bathroom- which only obviously meant changing in front of him. She didn't care, but he could. "You don't have to, I don't mind. It'll probably be a lot colder out here than in there, anyway" she smiled, looking him in the eye for a second.

Sage hummed lightly in agreement to her first comment before chuckling slightly. "If you don't care I'm sliding in the bed," he mused lightly. "It's definitely more comfortable. And I have to admit that I may fall off the couch and I doubt I'd keep all my stitches together after the wagon if that happened," he commented after a moment. He didn't care too much....he knew she wouldn't try anything with him, so he was ok with changing in front of her and all the rest. It wasn't too bad....it could definitely be worse. He had plenty of scars, new and old, from so many places. Whip marks on his back and shoulders, from multiple beatings, scars from the things her aunt had done....scars from his old life on the streets. But he didn't mind telling her about them if she asked, he thought. Besides,he filled out now that he could get food when he wanted, so he wasn't skin and bones. He wasn't necessarily healthy, but he was definitely the strongest he'd ever been. Edited at November 5, 2023 11:50 AM by NightClan

"As much as I obviously would rather you didn't get hurt again, you falling off the couch would be somewhat amusing" Ella said, letting a small smile break onto her lips as she spoke. She looked away from the window hurriedly as she made multiple counts of eye contact with a guard who settled round under the porch, instead looking Sage in the eye. "I'm sure we'll get used to it eventually though. Sharing a bed that's a little smaller, I mean. Are you still tired?" she asked, her tone cheery. As much as she didn't like being away from the horses and such, she definitely liked that it was less crowded and more peaceful.

Sage couldn't help but chuckle at her comment, giving her his normal crooked grin. "I'd have to agree with you on that one," he mused lightly. "though I must say if it was you falling it would be slightly funnier since youre wearing a big old dress," he teased her lightly. Really, her dresses weren't nearly as big or ornate as her aunt's, or even as most of the people in the castle. He sort of appreciated that about her. But even so, falling off something in a dress was funnier than falling off that seems thing in a t-shirt and sweatpants. He hummed in agreement at her next comment, then Yawned when she mentioned if he was still tired. "I could sleep," he admitted with a shrug. "do you want to eat first though?" He didn't really care...he was sort of still getting used to eating three meals a day, so he wasn't exceptionally hungry, but if she was it would probably be good to eat something quick before going to sleep, because he probably would sleep through the night at that point.

"Ah thanks" Ella laughed, happy she was finally relaxed enough to actually openly joke with Sage. When they had first met she definitely wouldn't have thought she'd even be able to talk to him without it being too serious, about food or the events of the day. She adjusted her dress as he mentioned it, pulling the frills over her knees though it was hard to stretch the dress so far. She definitely wasn't the type to want to wear incredibly long puffy dresses everywhere, they seemed so unappealing to her. Ones that were a little above the knees, with material that fit itself neatly around her waist pleased her. She nodded at his question, putting her chin in the palm of her hand to rest her head. "Maybe we should. I'm pretty sure we just have to settle with food the guards transport so i'm afraid you can't choose" she said, smiling weakly.

Sage chuckeldy lightly at her next comments and then shrugged with a nod. "That's fine," he mused in response. "I'm not picky." It was true...he'd eat pretty much anything, and she knew that. He supposed he was just lucky enough to be eating three meals a day. He didn't care too much what he was eating he wasn't hungry, and that was enough for him. He forced himself up and over to the kitchen, sort of poking around to see what all they had in there. (Short, I'm at camp lol)

all good- think i'll be fairly busy this week anyway lol) - Soon enough Ella has found food she thought looked even slightly appealing-which wasn't much- and she settled herself back down on the sofa to eat, picking at the crumbs on the bread she had picked up gently. She wasn't incredibly hungry purely down to the fact she was incredibly tired still, now that the journey and the insanely early morning had finally caught up with her, so she made sure to eventually finish the small portion of food she had gotten, and waited for Sage to do the same.

Sage admittedly had to force most of his food down, knowing he'd never heal if he didn't eat. He hadn't even taken much...just a small sandwich and some grapes. Soon enough though, he'd finished and was more than ready for bed. A glance at Ella told him she was too, so he wandered into the bedroom, flopping onto the bed and almost immediately passing out. He'd meant to stay up and make sure she had enough room but...that obviously wasn't going to happen.

Ella had yet again taken a while to fall asleep, she was too busy just..staring at the ceiling. Soon enough though she too fell asleep, after around an hour or so of purely just thinking about the past events of the last couple of weeks, from when she first came to, well..now. - v busy sorry)

(it's all good!) Sage had slept rather well. He was surprisingly warm and cozy, for whatever reason. More so than normal. It all made sense when he sort of woke up in the morning to find himself cuddled up with Ella. His back was to her, but their legs were tangled together and her arm was sort of flipped over his side. And they were pressed up against each other too. He sort of blushed once he figured that out, though soon enough decided it was comfortable and he didn't mind it at all, so he just drifted back off to sleep.
