Regan stayed awake a little bit longer, a bit cautious of the space for a while before swinging onto the bed and settling down. She curled up into the bed with the blankets, burying in there like a little mouse before falling into her sleep, finally deeply for the first time in ages. She curled up again, looking much like a sleepy child as she slept.

Tyler woke up, wincing. He pushed himself out of the chair, staggering over to the counter. He felt dizzy.. and didn't know why. Tyler drank a sip of water, walking outside to get some fresh air. The world swam in his vision and he frowned, alarmed. He didn't understand why all of a sudden he would feel sick and dizzy. He knew that Regan would kill him if she found him up, so he pretty much fell back into the house and collapsed in the chair, his breathing shallow and fast. He tried slowing it to help with the dizziness, but then he felt as if he wasn't getting enough oxygen... which just made him more dizzy.

Regan groaned quietly when she heard footsteps padding around, curling up even more and hiding under her covers when she realised she could hear rasping heavily. She poked her head up to see Tyler, clearly struggling. She widened her eyes a little and went to crawl over to him, gently running her hand along his back in a way she hoped would be comforting. "Deep breaths, Tyler," she whispered, clearly still exhausted... she didn't know what was wrong with him... but she wanted to help somehow. He was trying, she knew that... but was he just having a panic attack, or was he in pain? She didn't have a clue. All she knew is that she wanted to help the poor boy.

Tyler shook his head. He didn't understand.. he was dizzy, his vision blurred, and suddenly it got hard to breath? The only thing that might do that... he didn't even know. He calmed his breathing slightly, trying to take deep breaths through the pain. "I'm fine ... just a little... hard on breathing..." he murmured, closing his eyes and concentrating. He had no idea why this was happening.. nothing like this had ever happened before.

Regan just tried to be a comforting presence to the boy... she didn't know what else to do. She gently rubbed and petted his back, just to try and get oxygen moving... moving. She was a little bit nervous when he started to close his eyes... but he needed to concentrate. He needed to open his lungs up a little bit... but she thought having him put his hands behind his head might hurt his ribs a little bit. She looked at the bed, humming thoughtfully before gently taking a hand of his. "Can you go over there? If you lay on your back breathing might be easier," she didn't know if it was his throat or... what, really. She didn't have a single clue... she just wanted to be able to help him.

He took another deep, shuddering breath. It's going away, really." He murmured. It was, he wasn't telling a lie. His breathing had gotten a little bit easier, and he wasn't as dizzy. He opened his eyes and sniffed the air a little. Tyler suddenly got super dizzy again. His vision swam and he almost doubled over, wheezing and coughing. "...smoke..." he managed to squeeze out. His ribs hurt SO BAD from the coughing and wheezing ... so bad he couldn't even try to explain.

Regan looked around after a moment, the heel of her palm still drawing circles on the boy's back as she tried to help him breathe... it wasn't working well. She sniffed the air when he did... there was no smoke. Was he seeing things? She looked around, but nothing... he said he was more comfortable outside, so maybe he was a bit claustrophobic. She sighed and looked out the door. "Yes, there's smoke.... let's go and sit outside for a while, yea?" she asked quietly.

Tyler shook his head. He focused intently just to get out a sentence. "No... there's smoke... I promise..." He coughed once before staggering out of the chair and limping outside. Now that they were outside he could hear... a very quiet crackle. His eyes widened, and even though he felt like he couldn't breath and his chest was being torn apart he RAN to find a shovel, seeing one leaning up against the building. He took it, but then taking out a machete and cutting down all the near undergrowth. He took down his traps, packed them up, and cleared a space around the cabin. The smoke was getting worse for him by the minute, and he was sure now Regan could smell it. He hacked out probably a thirty foot circle of clear grass around the cabin, then in the middle of the he dug a trench with the shovel. He worked as hard as he could while not being able to breath. Tyler was sure this would come back and kick him in the butt... but he kept digging. After it was done he raced to pour buckets of water in, and once that was done he sprayed the side of the house till it was completely soaked. After that... he kind of just collapsed, coughing and wheezing. He glanced up at Regan. "Fire... there is a forest fire coming this way... I have asthma so I'm very.. sensitive.. to smoke.." he coughed again. His ribs were probably cracking more with each cough, the pain almost unbearable. His vision swam and he wanted to black out, but knew they needed to leave.

Regan helped him outside, but soon enough she managed to follow him out. The scent of smoke finally hit her... she panicked a little bit, but Tyler out seemed to just jump into action, despite his injury. She wanted to help, but she didn't know how... it was scary. "Tyler, just hang on a minute," she yelped to him as he rushed about, knowing he was going to make his injuries worse. But he wasn't stopping... she eventually scooted over to him when he collapsed, trying to help him stay awake... he looked like he was about to black out in any minute. "Alright... alright, come on. There's a river not far... if we can get across it you can sit down," she whispered hurriedly to him. She needed to get him somewhere that he could breathe better.

Tyler, hacking and coughing, struggled to his feet and stumbled along the ground. He followed the faint sound of rushing water and splashed into the shallow stream. After wetting his face, hair... and anything else he could get to with the water he heaved a sigh because he could.. kind of breath again. He limped out of the water on the other bank, falling into the sand and sitting up, staring at the sky and trying to.. breath
