She shot him a fake, warm smile before turning back to cooking silently

I smiled back at her, face falling as I chewed on the inside of my cheek, washing the dishes a bit too hard before putting them down, turning the water off as I started drying them.

she flinched slightly as she dropped a plate in the sink. It didn't break, but her eyes shot to Caden. She started apologizing and tripping over her words as she continued dishes

"It's fine,"
I assured softly, keeping my hands still before reaching for the dish, washing it in silence as dread filled the air.

"um...do you check my phone often?" She asked quietly
| |
| |

"Never have, it's an invasion of privacy." I murmured, carrying on drying the dishes before starting on putting them up.
| |
| |

She nodded, chewing her lip in worried thought

"I have glanced at a few when they've popped up, though." I said suddenly, pausing to let it sink in before chuckling, grinning as I carried on. "They're funny, it'll be your friends and it's like 'oh does this dress look good or does this one look good?' 'How much Tito's is too much Tito's?' and honeslty, it makes me laugh." I mused, the smile seeming fake while on the inside I screamed, being torn apart by the minute without anything seeming wrong on the outside.

She fake laughed softly. "Yeah they have opinions about everything"
| |
| |

"I can tell," I mused, noting the way her smile didn't reach her eyes as I adored her features, hoping it wasn't the last time I did so.
