Sage slept through the night pretty well, thanks to the combination of medicine and whatever the doctor had used to knock him out. When he woke up, though, the pain hit him, almost like a horse barreling into him at full speed. His breath hitched, though nothing was wrong with it per say, and he kind of tensed up a bit, a sort of hiss coming from his lips. He was no stranger to pain..he could bear it, if he really had to, but man those painkillers...they were pretty great. He did notice the doctor still up though, and he had to respect the man for staying up all night. He was sick too, and Sage was just the tavern boy Anya had drug back to the palace about a gazillion times by now. The man never had a break when Sage was around. He did notice the food, though he felt nauseous even thinking about eating...everything hurt and he really just felt horrible, so he wasn't sure why the doctor had even tried. He'd put up with a lot from the doctor...eating right then he would be stubborn about.

The man did notice the boy look from the food then make a slight face. Well, he wasn't expecting the boy to eat, but it was there if he needed it. If he didn't want it, then he'd have to starve until he could get some food down a tube for him. "Aspirin?" The man asked, though kept his voice low encase his head was still hurting. He waited for an answer before wandering off to pick up a couple of pills for him anyway. He assumed the boy would be in a might lot of pain, even if his pain tolerance was a lot better than others... being cut open normally hurt, especially paired with everything else that was going on in his body. Sage would have laughed at the doctor's comment if he'd had the breath...he doubted an aspirin would do much, as it wasn't the most...potent painkiller. It was normally used for a headache...not whatever the heck had happened to him the past few days. Or hours, even. But really, what did he care? He was alive, and he'd deal with it the same way he always had. He'd wait a bit, force himself to eat something, and if he threw up then he'd wait until tomorrow to try anything else. He'd have to try water at some point to..he'd kept almost nothing down the past few days, and the human body can only go so long without it. He was awake now, though, and tried to run his brain to distract himself from the pain, even though it was still foggy. He was trying to figure out who he'd heard before...hopefully, it was Charlotte's parents coming back home. That thought twisted his stomach and his eyes snapped open again. He looked over at where the doctor came in and out, and when the man came back with a tray, he managed to wheeze out a worried "Charlotte?" in hope that the girl had been healing and was alright.

In all fairness, aspirin would have done something for the boy. He just wasn't too sure just how much chemicals he was willing to put into the boy after all he'd just been through. He reappeared and offered the boy a couple of pills before shrugging. "Charlottes alright. Anya took your place as a pillow once you started to go down hill." The man shrugged before putting tge little tray on the side. "Her parents came back yesterday morning. I suppose they'll be wanting to sat hi to you. Apparently Charlottes been saying good things about you... I can't imagine why," he chuckled quietly .

A small smile curled up at the corner of Sage's mouth at the doctor's use of calling him a pillow for the young girl. He was glad that she was alright, and even gladder her parents were back and well enough to be with the girl and talk to her. He was also glad that Anya had kept the girl company in the meantime, as she was a pretty social kid, and it was good for her to take her mind off of her missing parents and the obvious fact that he wasn't doing too hot himself. And if Anya was up and about, that meant she was feeling fine too, which was good. "I suppose I can find the time to say hello," he half joked, as he had nothing to do, so as long as they kept their voices down and didn't stay to talk for a long time, he'd be fine. He did want to see the girl, anyway. Once the pain meds kicked in, he'd be fine to meet them...it seemed almost odd he'd never met them when he was so close to the girl herself. He just hoped they'd be more civil than the queen.....he really didn't have the energy for any bias or negativity from them. He did take note that the doctor seemed like he agreed with the good things the girl has said about him..which was a bit surprising considering all the trouble Sage had put the man through.

The doctor shrugged a little at his comment but gave a nod. "Leave it a day or so. You're still carrying... something and it doesn't need to be passed around my wards." The man warned with a slight nod before slipping out the curtain. It would be a good thing, though. Charlotte's parents seemed to be a lot... not kinder, but amenable than Anya's. They'd probably want to say thank you to Sage for keeping their daughter entertained while they were having their own little ordeal. The poor people seemed to be used to the whole getting kidnapped and whatnot, so they weren't too dishevelled, just cold and a bit sniffly. Nothing worse than a kidnapping, which was fortunate for them. The doctor would have expected something worse to have gone along, especially considering the circumstances they were taken under. But no, not even battering. A thought did cross the doctor's mind, so he poked his head back through the curtains again. "Oh, and you're on bed rest. No getting up and running out in the middle of the night for you, Sage." He warned, though there was a slight sense of amusement hidden in his tone.

Sage shrugged at the doctors first comment, settling down again to go back to sleep. Though, when the doctor poked his head back in and told him he was on bed rest, he wrinkled his nose slightly, though he was pretty amused at the mini joke. "I didn't intend to end up in the gardens," he grumbled, though not upset at the doctor of course, he only meant well. "Tell that to my brain and we'll be good if it decides to listen," he sighed wearily before settling down again, eyes already closing. He still hurt, but he was exhausted. (I'm out and about today so I won't be on much)

(Dw about it :) The man chuckled before disappearing again. Well, he'd make sure that the boy didn't leave. He'd have the guards hold him there if he had to, but he was not going outside if he could help it. He didn't expect that he'd try that again, though... not if he really wanted to get better. He supposed the boy might get a little lonely, but it wouldn't be long until the boy was well enough to see people again. Maybe a couple of days, just until the man was sure he wouldn't get anyone else sick. Well, the boy could probably see Anya, but she most likely was buried deep in work to keep her mind off him.

Sage pretty much fell back asleep after the man left again, gladly slipping back into a deep sleep where he didn't feel anything. He probably wouldn't take off again ...he was pretty sure that was a one time thing. Well, not one time, but it wasn't often that happened. He slept for quite a while, only waking up once or twice. The second time it was dark, so he assumed it was night, but he soon fell back asleep again, so it didn't really matter.

Anya sat bored in her room, really just kicking her feet around like an impatient five-year-old. Well, she wasn't a five-year-old, but she was impatient. Not just to get out of her room again and, well do something. Go see Sage, help her mother with her crazy antics or even just chill out with Luther for a little while. She'd just done this to herself. The doctor said she couldn't leave her room until he gave the go-ahead, because she might have 'Sage germs'. She'd been warned, but she was also just quite stupid. She did eventually go get showered, though and got changed into something more comfortable before going to grab a book and a few little blankets and went to go sit outside to read... mainly because it was nice to see the lights of the village at night, but also because the cold was a kind of refresher for her, even if the season was starting to warm up.
