(Sure lol. We could have Anya getting better but Sage isn't? We could always have Charlotte's parents come back or something happen there too)

Sage was relieved when the doctor left, though he did appreciate the man. He made a mental note to actually thank the guy once he was well enough to do so. Though, he did throw up the water after a few minutes. If anything, it had soothed his throat, which was incredibly dry. He didn't really know how much time had passed....he slept most of the day and night. The doctor came back every now and then ...he supposed the guy knew sage was fighting to get better, though not much was working.

(Yeah I was thinking something similar lol)

The doctor found the next couple of days just... tiring. Charlotte seemed all alright, she was being brave for a little kid, but Sage had only seemed to have gotten worse. He hadn't seen Anya all too much until she was plenty better, but there was a point where things with her had gotten a little bit tense, too. It was mainly just the whole throwing up think that caused her issues, and it still was, but all the other symptoms had left her. She had lingered around the doctors office one he'd deemed the girl safe to be around, that she wasn't going to pass anything on to his more... feeble patients, but he'd made a rule that she wasn't allowed past the curtains. He'd heard the girl trying to talk to Sage once or twice, but she shut herself up when she got no reply. The doctor did find it rather sweet, but he was more worried about the boy than anything else. Well, him and Charlottes parents... but the girl seemed content with Anya, most of the time. She spent her days curled up on the girls chest, or latched onto her side like a little child would to their mother.

Sage had pretty much been out of it for quite some time. He'd heard the echo of Anyas voice a few times, though it seemed like he was underwater, and he couldn't really understand what the girl was saying, he just heard her. He was glad to hear her voice, too, even if he really couldn't respond and her voice hurt his head a bit. He'd lost weight by then, and his face was definitely pale. At some point he'd moved around so much the pillows holding him up had fallen off the bed, which of course didn't make him feel any better. He ended up just coughing, and twisting around, and that movement make him gag up bile, which also wasn't helping him at all. Man, his body really wasn't doing him any favors.

Anya kind of ended up curling up around Charlotte when the sound of Sage gagging up rang through the room. It was awful to hear... and she felt for him, she really did. You'd only know Anya was ill through her throwing up, but she'd quickly pieced together that Sage maybe wasn't feeling as amazing as the doctor had said. All she wanted was to go and sit with him and make sure he was comfortable and happy, but it just didn't seem like that was going to happen. She'd pretty much been banned from seeing him at this point, and if she couldn't even talk to him, she couldn't imagine the state he was in. The doctor had come down with something, too, so one of his apprentices had stepped in to treat the more injured patients while he saw to Sage. He was ill anyway, so he couldn't risk it passing through the castle and losing some of the lower-down maids. This apprentice, though, was pretty good at her job... she wasn't all that much older than Anya - probably more Luther age, tending to the still-injured guards and maids quickly, cracking her jokes and making a laugh chime through the otherwise dead ward. It was nice to see, especially considering the doctor himself wasn't overly excitable. The man only came out again to see Sage... clear up for him and set his bed up a little better so that he was comfortable. He dropped a buckeT by the boy's bed before kicking it, a little, just to make a sound. "Bucket. If you feel sick, it goes in there," he murmured tiredly, obviously not feeling amazing in himself. Still, the man sat down, topped up his water, and cooled down his cloth again... pretty much all he could do, at this point. Sage was past swallowing his pills now, so the doctor had leaned on an injection for pain killers, and a little something to give his immune system a little... boost.

Sage barely heard the doctor, though the dull ping of the bucket did enter his head. He wheezed as a sort of response, trying to catch his breath. He kind of felt bad for bothering the doctor when he was sick, but really it was better for the doctor to play with him than the apprentice, who was still new and hadn't seen much yet in terms of bad things. Or worse things, he supposed. He hadn't seen the girl yet, obviously, but she seemed...cheerful, based off of her tone. The shots the doctor had been giving him helped a bit, though they really only dulled the pain, not take it away. Things continued the same way for few days, forcing what they could into his body and hoping for the best. He wasn't really sure what that best was, but he supposed he'd be fine either way this sickness went. A few days later, after he managed to cough up half of his lungs, he found that breathing was getting easier. It wasn't fine by any means, but it was easier, so hopefully that meant he was getting better and not that he was just...dying.

Despite her room being all clear, Anya found it a little more... comforting in the doctor's office. How strange. Normally, you were meant to be scared to go there, worry that something awful was going to happen and you'd never be the same, but Anya was finding that rather than being scared of it, it brought a sense of almost safety to her. The doctor was almost like the father that her own just couldn't be, and she trusted him, she really did, despite his... grumpy appearance. She trusted him to look after Sage the best he could, and shout from a distance what everyone else needed. At some point, a guard had rushed in to shout something to the doctor, but by then his apprentice had already run out the door. Soon, though, two very rough people walked through the door, and before Anya could say anything Charlotte jumped from her side and ran at them. She watched for a moment before it finally clicked. Though, her heart did drop a little when the apprentice told the girl to go sit back down while the doctor saw to them. Surely nothing so awful that the little girl couldn't be with her parents had happened? The doctor was all wrapped up with masks and gloves before taking them around the corner... Anya didn't have a clue what was going on, but she was sure that soon enough she'd find out.

Sage did hear the brief scuttle though he couldn't really tell what was going on. Not only was his vision whirling and head screwed up, but the curtains around him were closed. Of course, after hearing it, he pretty much passed out again after thinking for a few minutes of thinking with a crazy headache. His breathing was limited again, and as he tried to force himself to breathe, a wave of pain shot up his body as he shifted around slightly, and he turned, gagging up some sort of liquid. Dimly the thought that looked suspiciously like blood, but he fell asleep before he could put much thought into it. The doctor would figure someone out no matter what had happened or what it was.

(What if Charlotte's mom ends up finding Sage and insists on helping him? Idk what you were planning to do but it might be sweet if they kind of half adopt the kid since he's so close with Charlotte lol)

Aw, yeah, we could definitely have something like that happen. I was planning on having Charlottes parents a bit more amenable than the queen so would be a bit easier lol)

The little girl frowned and wandered back over to Anya when the two disappeared again, sitting at the girls side and leaning on her hips as she waited for her parents. She looked very obviously worried, and she had every right to be, these were her parents and they'd been missing for god knows how long. Anya sighed and sat up a little, giving the girl a kind of comforting hug, though loose enough that she wouldn't hurt the girls bruised ribs. Little Charlotte wrapped her arms around Anya in return. "They'll be fine," Anya murmured reassuringly before shifting a little so her legs were crossed on the bed. She reached out a little and started messing with the girls hair, putting it in two braids to try and entertain the girl.

Sage kind of drifted in and out of consciousness, trying to stay in one zone or the other, but it wasn't working really well. The pain from his stomach was increasingly worse now, and he had the suspicion this wasn't just an illness...at least not a cold type of illness, not if his stomach was tying itself in knots. Or if he was throwing up blood, which he wouldn't be surprised if what he'd gagged up was blood. He couldn't really see it, but it definitely looked like that. He was kind of writhing around on the bed, trying to stay in a position he could breathe, though all he wanted to do was curl up. Not that the wet bed was really comfortable to stay in, and it definitely wasn't doing much to help him, but curling up helped a bit, though then he couldn't breathe, and coughing hurt...he really was just a complete mess. The doctor was quite obviously busy if he hadn't come over when he'd thrown up, and he knew the other patients were his first priority, so he'd manage until something happened.

Soon enough, the two people appeared from behind the wall, looking not at all better, but less... frazzled. Charlotte ran towards them again, already yelling at them for being away. Anya just gave a shy smile and waved, though she was biting the inside of her lip in a kind of nervous manner. The two went to sit down on a separate bed each, but as soon as their heads hit the pillow they were both out for the count. Charlotte just stood there for a moment before sighing and wandering back over to Anya, The girl gave a kind of comforting word, just saying that they'd probably had a rough few days and needed the rest. The younger girl seemed to understand, but there was a slight sense of upset about her. The apprentice came around again, checking up on everyone and trying to make a little laugh come from the guards... she did briefly check on Charlotte, but the girl was more than stable enough to be leaving now, but Anya doubted that'd be happening if her parents were around. She heard the doctor scuttle into Sages, too, but all she heard was an almost disappointed grunt before scuttling away again to pick some... stuff up, then he wandered back over to the boy. Man, all Anya wanted was to go and sit with the boy, but it didn't seem all too likely that'd happen. Especially when the doctor reappeared with all sorts of stuff all over him... hell, was that blood? Anya wasn't too sure she wanted to know.
