I walked to the [insert people at the desk title here] at the small check in desk, the usual 'charm' as people liked to call it---slipping in gear as I talked to them. "Last name on that was Ortiz, and before you ask, it's a z, not an s." The woman looked up at me, somewhat bewildered. "I was just about to ask that!" I chuckled, smiling softly. "What can I say? Guess i'm just good at reading people." With that she grabbed our menus and ushered us to follow her.

Eventually they got seated, and I ordered a glass of whiskey.

Emily asked for a bit of red wine but she made sure to get the cheap kind

I flicked my gaze up at her, tossing her a quizzed look as I sipped my drink, setting it down once more as I overlooked the menu.
