I nodded, taking the keys before getting in and starting to car, pulling out of the garage and starting down the driveway, looking in the rearview mirror of the now fading image of the mansion, smiling slightly at my past dreams, now my living reality.

I glanced down at her phone, reading the text swiftly before tearing my gaze away, blanking for a moment as I gnawed on the inside of my cheek, an alternative to saying some bullshit i'd regret. Right, because I would get tired of her. Right, because I hadn't already memorized her ring size, favorite gem, what caret size she'd like, and if she like gold or silver better. Right. Right...
