Axel shifted slightly to look at him, surprise showing on his face when he admitted it was true. He was glad, of course ...very glad, but he didn't know what would come next. "It won't be easy. By all rights I shouldn't even be here," he murmured. "But....I'd like to try and figure it all out with you," he added softly, meeting Duncan's gaze.

Duncan bit the inside of his cheek nervously and nodded, smiling sheepishly and flaming red.

Axel nodded when Duncan agreed, giving him a grin and laughing when he felt that his cheeks were still hot. "Look at us," he noted with a sheepish laugh. They were both rather bad at this.

Duncan blushed. "Sorry... I just... I don't know what I'm doing and that makes me nervous and scared and I and I..." he trailed off, flaming red.

Axel chuckled softly and rose, moving towards Duncan and taking his hands. "I'm scared too," he admitted, just keeping his gaze on their hands. "But...we can take it slow. Figure it out together," he murmured.

Duncans heart pounded even faster as Axel took his hands. Stiffly, he nodded, but he was unable to move. He felt frozen in place.

Axel caught his nod, eyes searching Duncan's face. He felt his shoulders relax slightly, but then realize Duncan was frozen there, so he quickly let him go and stepped back, murmuring a soft apology and turning, moving to walk over to look out the window. He did wish Duncan was able to hold hands, or maybe hug him ...he'd always longed for a gentle touch. But he wouldn't push. He'd let Duncan set the pace. He could wait, and one day, maybe ...maybe he'd finally be able to rest in someone's arms.

Duncan was even more embarrassed now. "Axel, I'm sorry, I just... I can't- I dunno how to do this..."
| |

Axel just shook his head slowly, turning to offer Duncan a smile. "It's alright," he noted gently. "I dont either. Take your time....I didn't mind," he added, turning to look back out the window. "Just knowing someone's there for me is enough."
