Sage felt a soft smile flicker onto his face when he felt her fingers brush against his hand slightly, and he curled his fingers around hers slightly, just appreciating the comfort she brought with her. It was odd how just being around her made him feel so much safer, even when she was simply asleep next to him. But he'd deiced that he liked this much more than his previous life. There were things he'd miss of course...but they still had the sea, and the boats, and the wildness and uncertainty that came with living off the land. Not quite knowing what was next. When Jora seemed to drift off again next to him, he opened his eyes, jusst...watching her. It almost seemed like a dream, seeing here there, resting peacefully, emmersed in the sun's glow. He made a mental note of the image, wanting to draw or paint it later, hoping he could do it justice....it certainly was a mesmerizing sight. She really was the most beautiful woman he'd ever laid eyes on. He moved to brush a strand of hair out of her face gently, just watching her for a while before her steady breathing pulled him into a light sleep again.

Jora felt a soft flutter in her chest as she felt Sage's fingers wrap around hers, a small, comforting gesture that seemed to anchor her in the present. The warmth of his hand was grounding, and even as she fought off sleep, a part of her wanted to linger in that quiet moment, feeling the steady rise and fall of his breath beside her. It was so much easier to find peace when he was close, a part of her she'd never thought she'd need until now. Her mind was hazy, but the feeling of being watched tugged at her consciousness. She could feel his gaze, even with her eyes closed, like a weight of affection that made her want to curl closer into him. Sage was often so quiet with his thoughts, but she could tell—he was the sort of person who saw more than most, even in stillness. As she felt him brush a strand of hair from her face, she couldn't help the soft smile that tugged at the corner of her lips. She didn't open her eyes, though, knowing he’d just go back to sleep once he was satisfied. Sage had this way of making everything feel simple, like the world didn't need to be complicated when you had moments like these. So much of her old life had been filled with constant noise and the pull of survival. Now, though, it was different. This—*he*—was different. In the warmth of the sun, she finally let herself drift back into a lighter sleep, content to let the quiet settle around them. This was enough.

Sage smiled when he noticed her slight smile as he brushed her hair away, glad he made her feel happy, even in the small things. It was good to know she appreciated him even in times like now, when life was pretty much perfect. He settled down again soon enough, drifting back off to sleep. By the time he woke up again, it was nearing noon though, and he had to admit he was slightly hungry. He sort of shifted around for a bit, trying to settle back down but eventually he was hungry enough he slid out of bed with a sigh, wandering over to the kitchen and grabbing an apple before moving to flop back down in the bed. (Short I gotta run)

Jora felt the shift in the air as Sage moved beside her, the bed dipping slightly when he slipped out. She smiled to herself, half asleep, as she listened to him rustling in the kitchen, and then the soft thud of him flopping back down. She could feel his presence beside her again, his warmth a comforting reminder of the simple peace they had together. Her eyes fluttered open as he took a bite of his apple, and she stretched slowly, watching him for a moment. “You’re up early for someone who was just getting comfortable,” she teased softly, her voice still thick with sleep. She propped herself up on one elbow, studying him as he chewed. He always looked so peaceful in these quiet moments. It was easy to forget the world outside when it was just the two of them, cocooned in this little bubble of contentment. "Did you sleep okay?" she added, her voice quieter now, as her hand instinctively reached for his.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her comment, giving her a still somewhat groggy grin. "I got hungry," he noted lightly, sort of leaning against the headboard and settling in next to her. The sound of her voice, crackly with sleep, sent a sort of spark jumping around in his chest. He nibbled at the Apple as he sat there, squeezing her hand when she moved to grab it, nodding lightly with a sort of hum. "I was out pretty quickly," he noted with amusement, lips tugging upwards in a sort of sleepy smile. He was coming more awake with food, though he still didn't want to do much anyway. It was a lazy day....maybe they'd walk a round the island a little bit, explore some stuff. But mostly just have fun. That sounded really, really nice.

Jora tilted her head slightly, watching him with a soft smile as he took another bite of the apple. She could feel the warmth of his hand around hers, and something about the sleepy, contented way he looked made her heart flutter a little. "You always get hungry at the weirdest times," she teased gently, her voice still thick with sleep, though the teasing note was light and affectionate. She stretched a bit, the day’s laziness wrapping around her like a cozy blanket, and squeezed his hand back. The thought of wandering around the island did sound nice—especially if it meant more time together. But she could tell he wasn’t fully awake yet, and she didn’t mind that. There was something nice about this slow, comfortable pace. "I’m glad you’re awake enough to enjoy it," she murmured, her eyes soft, "but I think I could stay here all day with you." She leaned back against the pillows, content, and let the silence settle for a moment. "Lazy days are the best," she added after a beat, her fingers tracing lightly over his hand as she relaxed into the moment.

Sage rolled his eyes in response to her comment, glancing over at the clock. "It's lunch time, that's not weird," he protested with a laugh, shaking his head slightly. He was finished with the apple by then though, so he tossed the core in the garbage can next to the table next to the bed, scooting back down into the covers with Jora, retangling their legs together. "I can't remember the last time I've gotten to sleep in, let alone do nothing all day," he mused lightly. "I must say the idea is quite tempting," he added with a chuckle. "What, exactly, does your lazy day include," he asked lightly, tone slightly teasing. He was mostly just messing around, but she could take it how she wanted. He didn't mind either way. And if he got a kiss or something out of it, that would be great too....though he'd enver admit that to anyone.

Jora smiled as Sage settled back into the bed, pulling the covers up around them both. His teasing made her laugh softly, her fingers idly tracing small circles on his chest as she considered his question. "A lazy day?" she echoed, her voice light but with a hint of playful mischief. "Well, it involves a lot of lounging, probably some mindless TV, maybe a nap... and, of course, absolutely no productivity whatsoever." Her grin widened as she added, "You know, the kind of day where you forget what time it is and just let yourself be. But... I think I'd be willing to make an exception if you want to add something to the agenda." She met his eyes, her teasing tone softening a little. "Maybe... a kiss or two could be a good place to start."

Sage chuckled softly in response to her comments, just glad to see her so relaxed. Happy. It wasnt soemthing they'd really gotten to see in each other too often before - but now they could. They could just lay around and do nothing, be able to relax and tease each other without having to worry about....anything. It was certainly nice to just nestle in, her touch light on his skin and her body warm and comfortable against his. Of course, when she mentioned adding things on, and then mentioned a kiss or two, his eyebrows raised slightly and he gave her a grin. "I see I wasn't the only one who woke up hungry," he teased her, but leaned forward to press a lignering kiss to her lips anyway, flopping his head back down after, though leaving it close to her.

Jora's eyes sparkled with amusement at Sage's playful comment, her lips curving into a mischievous smile. "Something like that," she purred, her fingers trailing teasing patterns over his chest as she leaned in to capture his mouth once more. The kiss was slow and sensual, their tongues dancing together in a languid tango.Breaking away after a moment, Jora propped herself up on an elbow to gaze down at Sage with heated appreciation. "You know, I think you're even more delicious when you're all relaxed and sleepy-eyed," she murmured huskily, her hand drifting lower.
