Sage shifted around a little bit, though it seemed like a lot of effort and shrugged slightly. "It was just a bad dream," he murmured softly, barely saying anything at all. He trusted the girl, but it was hard to talk about all these things ...he didn't understand it himself, and they terrified him. He didn't know what to say or how to say it, and while he wanted to tell Anya everything, he just wasn't sure how. At least she wasn't scolding him for running outside in the cold and pushing himself way too far. He would have probably just shut down, worse than what had just happened. "It didn't really make much sense," he admitted, a kind of laugh escaping his lips.

The girl gave a slight nod and loosened her hold on the boy ever so slightly. "Just a bad dream?" She repeated before shaking her head. Just a bad dream. Surely a bad dream didn't make you do what he'd just done. "You shouldn't have ran off," the girl murmured, her voice not exactly as comforting. She wasn't angry, not at all, but she was so worried about him. She always was, but this had to be a whole new high for Anya's concern. It might have been alright if the boy wasn't injured, but that simply wasn't the case. He could have fallen and made it worse, or opened his stitches or pushed himself over the edge or... she didn't want to think about it. It was scary for her, but it had to be even more so for Sage. "I mean, look at the state you're in now."

Sage half cringed when the girl told him he shouldn't have run off. He knew that....he wasn't stupid. He knew the girl wasn't mad or anything, she was just worried, but his head didn't cooperate with him very well. "They're not usually this bad," he sighed. "Something triggered flashbacks," he admitted. "I'm not sure what, but...Liz was in it, maybe that was it..." He trailed off slightly as a shudder ran down his body when he thought back to the dream and the memories. Why did they have to hurt so much? Affect him so much? Why couldn't he just forget them all? He swallowed a bit harder than normal and pressed himself closer to Anya in hopes that he could calm his mind down a bit.

Anya wrinkled her nose a little at his comment. She knew this was bad... she'd been there for one or two of his slightly worse dreams, which was bad the way they were, but this was just... horrible. She did give a slight nod when he mentioned it was about Liz, though. She had kind of expected that. "Yeah... you mentioned that you saw her when you blacked out earlier. That probably triggered something." The girl murmured, her hand stopping it's trailing on his back as she let out a type of sleepy sigh. "I know you miss her." She thought anything about Lizzie could only be a good thing... of course, those last few moments with the girl would be... stressful for the boy to relive, but surely everything else would have almost been comforting, or at least the good bits. The girl cocked her head as the boy cuddled in before gently resting her chin on his head. "What happened? In your dream?"

Sage sighed and shrugged, then shook his head when she asked what he'd seen. "It was confusing," he admitted. "I only understood bits and pieces...Liz was there, she was yelling, but she wasn't...her. she was something else. Dad showed up somewhere I think, or someone did something I'd seen him do or say or whatever." He scrunched his face up slightly and curled up a bit tighter even though his side burned. "I didn't think before I ran. You'd think I've learned I can't run away from memories," he sighed. He wished he could....he could chose what memories he could remember and which ones to leave behind. His past was a part of him, and he was fine with that, but some things he just wanted to get rid of. "It probably didn't help dad killed mom sometime within the next few days back then," he murmured softly, shuddering again as the sight ran through his head. "I always dream about that about now," he admitted.

Anya nodded, the feeling of sorrow running through her. Not for herself, not at all, but rather for Sage. She did sometimes forget that he'd been through quite so much. Obviously, all the big things she could recall, like his mother and Lizzie, but the she had to remember the everything else added up... she had to admit that when she stopped, the girl started to become a little bit un sympathetic. But while Anya forgot, Sage would always remember what'd happened him. It'd follow him around for the rest of his life, and it probably affected him more than he'd ever let on. The only way Anya knew it caused him issues was because of moments like this, when if all came flooding in. "Why was she yelling," she murmured softly, gently wrapping an arm around his waist so he couldn't curl up any more... she was scared he'd pull his stitches out if he did. "Some times, Sage, I forget how much you've been though." She whispered before slowly falling back on the grass and staring up at the stars. "I wonder why you've been dreaming about that... when your mother..." the girl trailed off slightly, "maybe because of Liz?"

Sage was more than fine when Anya lay down...that meant he could let himself fall over too, since her arm was around his waist and she half pulled him with her. He was pretty much already laying down, but still. He was aware of why she'd put her arm around his waist ...on all honesty, she was probably right to worry he'd hurt himself. He could tell the stitches were red and a bit raw already, though he wasn't bleeding so he supposed he'd manage. "I don't know," he sighed. "I don't know why amy of this happens. I guess just because it was so...vivid....and the dates make me remember....I don't know. Liz wasn't there when it happened, thankfully." He stayed curled up against Anya, closing his eyes and then forcing them open again. "Can we go back," he whispered. "I don't want to fall asleep out here and I'm going to if I stay." he wasn't sure he was ready to move again, but he needed to get somewhere warm and dry...he was probably going to get sick already.

The girl laid back for a little while, just trying to take in and make sense of all that Sage was saying. One day, she would, and she'd be able to comfort him a little bit better and make things less... scary for him. But now wasn't the time to make any of that happen. She just needed to get the boy safe and warm. Really safe, even if he didn't feel it. When he asked, she gave a slight nod and carefully sat back up, helping Sage as she went. "Of course we can," she was glad he'd asked... it meant he had at least a little bit of self preservation left. And, Anya was tired and wanted to get back to sleep somewhere that wasn't... freezing. She gently tugged the blanket back over his shoulders before standing up, gently helping the boy up after her, letting him lean on her as much as he needed as they wandered back in.

Sage tried to hold himself, walk himself, as best he could. Towards the beginning he was pretty much able to walk on his own, but near the end he was leaning on Anya...the girl was pretty much holding him up. By the time he got back to the doctor's office, he was wheezing again, a hitch in his breath. He collapsed back into his bed with a grunt and curled up despite the pain in his side. Anya could do what she wanted, but he was exhausted. And, admittedly, he didn't feel great. He'd probably have gotten himself sick, which wasn't surprising considering his immune system was pretty much crap.

Anya was there to help Sage whenever he needed it. She let him lean on her if he needed to, and helped him to lay down again... she made sure he was comfortable before deciding to stay, just for a little while to make sure he was alright before going to open the curtains surrounding the boys bed. Charlotte was still sleeping soundly... comfortably, and she looked happy. Anya was glad the girl wasn't worrying too much about her parents... and if she was worrying, then it wasn't enough for the girl to lose sleep over. Anya wandered back to Sages bed perched on the side... she'd leave him be if he wanted her to, but at the moment leaving was pretty much just going back to the opposite bed... and Anya would go back to bed, she just wanted to make sure Sage was sleeping soundly, make sure he wouldn't be woken up by any more nightmares again first.
