Sage heard the door to the doctor's office open but paid no mind until he heard Whoever it was sit down by the bed. He opened his eyes and was pleasantly surprised to see Anya there, and murmured a groggy hello, turning slightly to face the girl. He did wonder why she was down here, though he supposed there were a lot of different factors that had caused the girl to come down here at this hour. Then again, if he could walk around by himself then he'd be doing that too. She had a book, so she was clearly not going to sleep unless she accidentally fell asleep. It wasn't really his concern, though he knew the girl had been worried so after a brief yawn and slight since after moving around, he added on to his greeting."how are you holding up?"

Anya read for a while... well, not really, more like turning page after page, trying to pass the time while she was in there. If she could, the girl would have probably slipped off to sleep, but she was a little scared about the dreams. They weren't particularly bad, she just didn't want them, like, at all. She looked up as she heard Sages voice, a gentle smile forming on her lips again. "Don't worry about me," she murmured with a small smile, obviously a little amused by it. The boy had just been shot and he was asking if she was alright. "I'm fine, just a little shaken up. Looks like you've got a friend," she hummed lightly.

Sage nodded and then glanced down at the little girl beside him, a soft smile forming on his lips. "She's a nice kid."He sighed and shook his head. "I'm worried about her though...she needs her parents. She misses them," he admitted softly. "Kids need their parents, especially when they're hurting." He wished he'd had good parents, and while he knew that was never going to happen, Anya had kind of stepped into that role, and it had helped him. "She likes me, but I'm not her father. I can only help so much." He shrugged slightly then winced when his entire body seemed to protest the movement. "Especially when I can barely move," he half chuckled, adding on to what he'd said before. Then he gave the girl a grin. "The doctor and this little one sleep like rocks, so you're not gonna bother anyone by coming down here to sleep."It was a bit of a tease to the girl, though he wouldn't mind if she stayed down here at night. Especially if being around other people calmed her or made her feel better.

Anya nodded and gave a gentle smile. "Yeah, she's sweet." Anya hummed in agreement. "People are looking for her parents... I haven't a clue where they've gotten to, but they're not dead. I don't think so, at least. Their bodies are no where, so they probably flead somewhere safe after they realised the girl wasn't in his room. They probably hoped the girl was somewhere safe, but unfortunately that wasn't the case." Anya gave a slight shrug before standing up and waddling over, placing the book on the side table before going in to press a light kiss to the boys nose. "I might end up staying here anyway. My room has been ransacked so everything is on the floor," she murmured quietly before giving a slightly amused chuckle, "but at least they had the decency to leave the mattress." She shrugged before kneeling down next to the bed. "How are you feeling? Any worse?"

Sage nodded and sighed. "If they don't show up soon we're going to have to assume they're dead," he admitted softly. "I hope that's not the case, but these are people from the slums," he pointed out gently. He chuckled at Anya's comment about her room and got a goofy grin on his face when she pressed the kiss to his nose. "Well, you're more than welcome." He shrugged and scrunched his face up slightly. "Everything hurts like hell, but that's what happens when I get myself shot multiple times," he half chuckled. "I'll be alright as long as I don't go crazy laying around here day and night." It was mostly a joke, but if he had one more dream about Liz he was worried he might actually go insane. But he wasn't going to admit that to Anya, she had more than enough to worry about already.

Anya gave a soft sigh and a nod of agreement before looking at the little girl, am ever so slight frown taking over her face. "I know, but we can hope. She'll be heartbroken if anything happens to them," she murmured softly before shaking her head. Anya knew it was more likely that they weren't coming back, but they could try and have a little faith that everything would be fine. The girl gave a slight chuckle before gently ruffling the boys hair up. "Yeah, I've heard it hurts when a bullet hits you. Apparently it hurt you so bad you started laughing," she murmured quietly, reminding herself of how frankly scared of him she was when it was happening. "Well, if you start going crazy I'll come and snap you out of it," she murmured with a playful grin.

Sage nodded and looked down at the young girl until Anya ruffled his hair. He looked back at the girl, wrinkling his nose slightly, a light blush making its way across his cheeks. "What did I even laugh about? I didn't say anything stupid, did I?" Then he grinned. "How do you propose you would snap me back to reality, hmm?" It was definitely a tease, as he was hinting at some of their more...intimate times together in an effort to tease the girl. Just because he was in a shit ton of pain didn't mean he couldn't joke around with Anya...apparently, even when he was close enough to death that Liz had come down to bring him with her he was laughing. Which, admittedly, was slightly concerning, but it was all over now.

Anya gave a small smile, though her brows were slightly furrowed. "I don't know why you were laughing... but it was very strange. Scary, really." Her smile became a little more genuine as she thought of a way to tease the boy. "You said some really stupid shit. Awful, really. Image the look on my mothers face when you proposed to me?" She was very obviously making a joke, and the huge grin on her face just proved that. After about a minute the girl shook her head have gave a slight chuckle. "No, you were fine. You didn't say very much, just... giggling." The girl shrugged. A very light blush covering her cheeks at his own light teasing, though she leant over and pressed another light kiss to his lips. "I could do so much that would bring you back," she hummed quietly before giving a slight chuckle. "I'm sure I'll find a way," she chuckled lightly before cocking her head. "Do you remember not anything from when you were giggling? Or were you just really oit of it?"

Sage snorted at the girl's teasing and shook his head, amused. "Imagine if that actually happened," he chuckled. "I don't think even the doctor could save me then," he joked. The queen quite obviously would have murdered him....he doubted she would stop to think that maybe he wasn't in his right mind at that time. "I knew enough to try and keep my mouth shut." He shrugged. "I remember seeing Liz playing with some other girls...other than that I was pretty much out of it." He was silent for a moment before adding "Oh, no, I remember killing someone. Two people actually, but that was because your mom had my dagger and then you didn't want me to take it back," he noted in an amused voice. He grinned up at the girl, a daring look twinkling in his eyes. "Really? Many ways, huh," he all but purred at the girl. He wasn't sure why he was so flirty but hey, it was the perfect opportunity.

Anya chuckled slightly and shook her head before giving a smile. "I think I might have killed you if you did," she murmured with a giggle. The girl furrowed her brows slightly before offering another smile, though there was a little least behind it this time. "You know, I think you killed quite a few people. I'm actually surprised you remember the two," she hummed before standing up and grabbing her book again and going to sit on the bed opposite. "I didn't want you to go mad and finish yourself off," the girl complained with an almost childish tone in her voice. She knew he didn't want to worry her like that, but she knew if he didn't have a 'job' to finish he would have taken Lizzies hand and left with her. The girl rolled her eyes at his flirty little comment. "You're meant to be in pain," she hummed with an amused giggle.
