(Hm, got any interesting plot ideas?) . Iris nodded, mind drifting elsewhere. She wanted to ask more questions but couldn't think of any, so she stayed silent and let her thoughts wander.

(not really t-t) Caden noted the silence, settling himself in it. He noted the sound of their feet shuffling on the stone, the sound of leaves rustling against eachother, a dog barking a neighborhood away.

(Same >-<) . The silence wasn't awkward, at least not for Iris. It let her think about things she was scared to think about alone. A drop of water hit her arm and she looked up at the sky. Partly cloudy at the moment, but no storm clouds. Hopefully just a passing rain. It began to sprinkle, but Iris didn't really want to go inside. The rain reminded her of that day in the courtyard, and she relived the scene again in her mind as they walked.

Caden felt a drop land on his nose and run down the side of his face, his hand reaching up and wiping it away. It was warm, as he looked up at the sky. Light clouds, a few dark splotches here and there though. It very slowly started getting heavier, dampening his hair as they walked. He didn't want to ask to go inside for the rain was....soothing. And also because I mean, he didn't know if Iris wanted to stay out or not.

As the rain continued, Iris glanced over at Caden to see if he wanted to go in or not. He seemed fine to keep going, at least for now. She wiped a drop or two from her eyes and stuffed her hands in her pockets to keep them dry and warm. The rain and clouds were taking away what little warmth there was, and she was thankful that Caden had offered her his sweater. Not like she was weak or anything. She was just cold.

Caden wiped his face again, eventually giving up at keeping it dry. The soft sound of droplets hitting the ground soothed him, the sound calming. He started getting cold, sort've regretting giving her his jacket.

Iris noticed his discomfort and thought for a second before turning and walking towards the library. She made sure Caden was following, then pushed through the double doors and held it open for him. Then she led the way to a more secluded area, with soft couches and bookshelves all around. Iris sat down on a maroon lovseat and said, a little nervously, "This is my favorite spot to go when I need some peace and quiet."

Caden followed her, glad they were finally going inside. He followed, thanking her for the door before sitting beside her on the chair next to hers. "It's nice and peaceful--" He paused, his accent slipping before he swallowed it back down. "Might just have to come here more often."

Iris smiled curiously at him at his break in speaking. "If you don't mind my asking... Why do you hide your accent? I mean, I know people stare, but I think there's another reason." She'd been thinking about that question for a while now and was surprised she'd actually said it. But she did want to know.

"Kinda hate it, to be honest. Can't pronounce anything right with it. Like, say....'world' for example, sounds right whenever I don't have it." He spoke in fluent English, letting his accent unguarded. "Then when I go to say it, I say vorld instead." Caden explained, switching back to no accent.
