That's a good strategy! I used gen ed to test out law since I was interested but very quickly decided that was a no. Gen eds are also good for bridging gaps too, I didn't remember much chemistry from school so I did a chem gen ed this summer that I've just finished just to feel a bit more confident

For sure. I'm in a weird spot since I'm already enrolled at a university for fall.. but I was hoping to at least try something out in the summer beforehand, and use gen ed courses as an opportunity to pick out things to try.

I totally understand that, I still feel that pressure now especially since I'm not working while studying right now. You can also look into certificates or online courses that are shorter/lower pressure if there was something you were really curious about.

Moon, interesting! I really struggle with allowing myself to take that sort of time to explore- I have so many financial goals it's hard to set them aside so I can first get things moving and then focus on it later.

All that to say take your time and if you are passionate about something see if there's a field that includes that lol!

Nope I worked full time in various roles for years before studying. I technically didn't earn university entrance from my schooling system so I would have had to bridge or wait until I was a 'mature' student. I have worked in a lot of casual and seasonal roles to see different fields. I do have late diagnosed ADHD though so I did lack direction for a long time lol. But I always loved horse color genetics ironically, had horses from a young age and that lead me into genetics as a whole. Psych was.. a lived experience thing but I quickly decided being a therapist isn't what I wanted so I discovered behavioral psychology and research avenues rather than clinical. I'd love to do genetic counselling but I would have to do my masters overseas which unfortunately is not an option so I will eventually have to choose to do psych or bio for my masters if I chose to do it

Moon, what sort of life experience helped you in that, and for you did that mean taking a break from uni or staying and investing time in internships and such?

It took me a long time! I've changed my degree three times before settling, but I always recommend life experience first before studying so you aren't stuck doing something you hate. Also, once you do start studying you learn so many things that are out there, so many fields I never knew were an option! So, often the more you study the easier it is to narrow down what you want to do
Moonlight Equestrian

Yeah it was all agreed that when I returned to uni since I'm a 'mature' student that my hours would reduce (contract and all) but it became too hard for them so they tried the whole 'we will make you quit instead of firing you' act and I had to deal with lawyers, it was such a huge and avoidable drama in the end but I still value the experience I had

Saphire gave a slow nod. "Ok so... since it's not poison... can I try it again?" She asked, holding out her hand. She grinned at Rascal. "You might not like it Rascal" she said "it's 'carbonated'" she mimicked Cade then tried to contain her laugh

Cade couldn't help himself, he laughed when Saphire tried to do an impression of him. He handed her the can of soda and focused on Rascal. "I'm not sure carbonated drinks are good for wolves." He looked directly at Saphire when he said 'carbonated.'

She took it then paused. "I don't think so either" she took another sip and waited a second, the liquid swishing in her mouth as she swallowed. "Its still weird. And I perfer drinks that don't plead for its life in my mouth" she giggled.

Saphire grinned "I don't think so either" she handed it back to him then settled across from him, her knees millimeters away from his.

Saphire blushed a little at the accidentally touch, but her pale skin made the blush look like fire across her cheeks. She looked away then down at her hands.

Cade had grabbed the bag of cheese puffs, still half full. He passed it to her, silently.

She eagerly took the bag and stuffed her face before giving it back to him. "These are so good!" She said then looked out at the rain. "It doesn't look like it's going to let us any time soon. She saw a flash then jumped up at the deep rumble of thunder that came after. "Whats that?" She asked.

"That was lightning and thunder, It's normal, if a little scary, nothing to worry about." Cade assured her, when he was a child he hated lightning and thunder.
