"Would you rather have a different surviving partner then if I'm no fun?" she raised her eyebrows but had a smile on her face to show that she wasn't upset. "Heightened hearing, babe. I can hear your footsteps and smell your scent" she admitted to him. It would be very hard for Sage to sneak up on her. Maybe if she was human it would work but she was half wolf and her heightened senses worked well. Next time she would have to pretend to be scared next time. While Cassidy laid down, she scooted closer to Sage until her side was pressed against his. He was her comfort place now and she always wanted to be near him.

Sage hugged out a playfully annoyed breath and then chuckled slightly. "I know, I know. One of these days I'll get you," he laughed, wrapping his arms around her and rested his head against her shoulder. He could scare her ..he just needed to be downwind and quiet enough as if he were hunting. Maybe if he dropped from a tree branch or something it would be more effective. He grinned at the thought. She smiled "Yeah, one day you will get me. Just not today" she laughed softly and her smile never seemed to fade. Cassidy loved being wrapped in Sage's arms, he made her feel safe despite being stronger than him. He made the apocalypse less depressing and she never thought she would find love in it either. Love was something that she thought would never exist when it all went down but she did and she couldn't be happier with the man she was with now. Of course before all of it happened she wanted to have a boyfriend, a future with them with a place of their own, marriage, and kids. Well, at least her and Sage had a place of their own but marriage and kids was right out of the window if they decided to stay together for a long time.

Sage grinned over at her. 'youd better watch your back, wolf girl," he chuckled, teasing her. He'd get her. It might take him a whole, but he'd get it done. It was a goal now...it was going to happen. He'd make sure of it. He was glad he'd found Cass, and that they'd been able to make a life together. And make it a good one...when he was alone it was never really fun to be alive. But now they could afford to joke around and have some fun too. Maybe if the apocalypse ended at some point, he could propose...they could get married and have kids of their own. It was a nice dream, though it wasn't entirely possible. Cass getting pregnant now was possible, but a really bad idea.

Of course she knew doing the normal things wasn't possible such as marriage and kids and she hoped the apocalypse would end one day do her and Sage could experience what it would be like. For now, she was just glad she wasn't alone. Cassidy stood up and she stretched her arms up and over her head with a soft groan "I picked some good berries earlier. I was thinking they would go good with whatever we choose for dinner today." She looked down at Sage "Maybe I can find some garden seeds and we can make a small garden here to have other vegetables."

Sage smiled at that thought and nodded. "That would be good. We'll find plenty of seeds during fall and winter, so we'll have plenty to start one next year." It was a really good idea...there was earth near the cave that got sunlight and they could easily water it, but nothing could really get to it, so no animals or really other people could steal any of it. Though, they hadn't seen any signs of other people near their cave yet, but better safe than sorry in that aspect he supposed.

"I'm sure I could find some garden seeds already packaged at a store or something. Those could be helpful and we could grow tomatoes, shallots, and more to make our meals taste a lot better" if they could make the apocalypse a little easier to live through with just a garden growing then why not! Cassidy and Sage were really trying by making the cave a little more homey, having some extra clothes, making better meals, and growing a garden soon when they find seeds.

Sage thought for a bit and nodded. "We can go rummage around in town for some stuff again. Maybe try some other stores we haven't hit yet." It was a good idea to go look in some places farther from home with both of them there...two meant less risk, and they were getting to stores and homes others weren't willing to travel to. There could be something there they could really use.

"We have to make sure we at least pack extra food and water if we plan on venturing out farther than usual" she said softly and she reached up to tuck some of her strawberry blonde hair behind her ear. Cassidy turned her head to look at Sage "We should maybe try to find a map or something that way we can find the cities easier and it could help us if we ever get lost" she admitted.

Sage nodded thoughtfully. "We could find a map and maybe go out for a few days, around the town." He shrugged. "it would be good to do before winter huts and all the snow decides to make traveling hard." He really didn't like winter...though he had a warm fuzzy girlfriend and a cozy cave, so it might not be to bad. He did like the cave and Cass and he was almost looking forward to more cuddle time. He could use the cold as an excuse to hug her at random times. Edited at September 15, 2022 08:16 AM by NightClan
