Sage came inside a bit later, a million thoughts bouncing around in his brain. He set the phone and ear buds down on the table gently before realizing she was awake already. He walked over to her and lay down next to her on his back. "You look frozen." |

"I am freezing!" She grumbled back "It's cold in here... Can't you feel that?" She asked looking at him quickly snuggling up to him for warmth. In reality the room was actually pretty nice and warm "Probably because you left that window open last night..." She muttered through her chattering teeth as she curled up tighter in the blanket cocoon she was slowly making for herself. |

He chuckled and nodded. "I can feel the cold but my body temperature shifts to adapt to it. My energy spreads out more to keep me warmer." He grinned and wrapped his arms around her and willed the energy closer to the surface so his skin heated up a bit. "I'm like a living heater," he joked. Then he made a face. "Well, up to a point. In the winter I have more issues because then it's too cold. Demons aren't really made for cold weather," he chuckled. |

"Yeah? Well mine doesn't..." She muttered though she relaxed a bit when he warmed up significantly, she practically crawled into him... She wanted his warmth so badly. "I don't care at the moment... You're warm now..." She chuckled lightly. After a while Maxine was finally warm enough to come out from underneath the blankets though she still kept her cardigan on even after a hot shower. "Hey... Are you still gonna teach me?" She asked curiously "Maybe it'll help me stay warm?" She suggested. |

He chuckled and nodded. "Get ready if you need to and then we can go screw around in the forest. There's a nice clearing not far from the hotel we can do it at." He was excited to teach her how to defend herself, and he hoped it would relieve at least some of his worries...he had so many and Roxie was right when she said he was going crazy...he certainly felt like it. It was just a good thing he was good at hiding it. |

"Okay." Max nodded heading off and changing into some of her grungier clothes eager to learn from Sage. When she was ready she headed out with him, when they reached the clearing she smiled eagerly "What's first?" She asked curiously. |

He thought for a second. "Well, demons have a fighting style that's pretty much just go for the attack and try to overpower your opponent, so I'm thinking defense moves that can get you out from that situation." He tugged on his collar, thinking before he shrugged. "We can start with blocking a punch and then actually punching people. Demons. Or, uh, whatever." He shook his head. "Anyway, I want you to throw a punch at me so I can show you how to block it, and then we'll switch roles so you can practice the block." |

Maxine nodded "Sounds good." She said giving a nod she was a little nervous... She didn't wanna hurt him but it was better to learn this and wind up hurting him then getting killed by a demon because she couldn't fight so... She threw a punch his way it was a decent punch despite her lack of muscle... She was an artist not a fighter but she had to be a lot of things now and she understood that this was for survival. |

He grinned and blocked it easily, satisfied at her punch...once she was given proper form she could deal a pretty bruise to any demon that tried anything. He slipped around so he was standing next to her and positioned himself. "Now try and copy my stance and arms and that's your block." Once she did that, he went back in front of her. "ok, I'm gonna go slow at first and we can try to speed things up once you get it at this pace, alright?" |

Max smiled proudly seeing the pride in his eyes a look she'd never received before... When he stood next to her she nodded and positioned herself similarly to how he had and waited nodding "Yup..." She said waiting for his punch, when he did she did her best to block it... The first few slow times were fine but when he kicked it up a notch she got punched a few times before she finally managed to block his fist "How was that?" She asked. |
