Iridessa merely offered the King a warm smile, her eyes softening at his apology. "That is quite alright. I only wish to speak initial agreements myself, considering it is my hand and body up for debate," she told him, the sunlight drifting through the windows catching upon her features. So long everyone could understand that she was a person and not a pawn, Iridessa would be as happy as could be. Besides, how could she not be when the man sitting across from her was god-like? She almost wanted to be a pawn for him, but she knew better than to trust too quickly. She'd been scorned a time or two before, and she didn't wish for it to happen again when it was marriage at stake. "Is there anything else that you wish to clarify?" Her own father asked, speaking up where silence had fell. His gaze flicked from the other king to Kael inquisitively, patient as could be. Iridessa was focused then on Kael, a delicate tilt to her head as she studied him in comfortable silence. She was eager to get to know him rather than to be sitting there discussing further politics and such. One would argue that they'd have all the time in the world to get to know each other, but she could say the same about politics.

Kael spoke up. "One request. Princess Iridessa gets to choose specifics for the wedding and if she wants to change an initial plan of mine, she carries that power." He said, his voice smooth but soft and respectful

Iridessa looked at Kael, her stomach fluttering with butterflies as he chose to give her the power for their wedding, even to change whatever plans had been made. This wasn't the big, scary prince she had heard rumors about. He seemed.. attentive and caring. She rather liked it. It gave her hope for what their future might entail. "If that is what you so wish, then very well," her father spoke, nodding in agreement. She smiled faintly, her gaze raking over Kael with gentle intent. "I quite appreciate that," she told him before falling quiet once more.

"It's an honor to wed such a wonderful, beautiful, and kind woman" Kael said, smiling at both Iridessa and the King. "So will you be coming home with me tonight?" He asked Iridessa, wanting some time to get to know her alone. Edited at November 24, 2025 10:45 AM by Blue Diamond

Iridessa kept a level smile as he spoke such kind words, a flicker of warmth swimming within her. "Thank you. I do appreciate your kindness," she told him, dipping her head gently in respect to him. She had truthfully been dreading the day that they would come, the day that she and Kael would marry, but he was turning out to be nothing like that had heard or imagined. Perhaps, if he was being truthful, things would not be so bad. At his next question, Iridessa hesitated before casting a glance at her father, who nodded in way that said it was her decision to make. "If that is what you wish, then yes, I'd be more than happy to go with you tonight," she answered as she turned her gaze back upon Kael. It wouldn't hurt at all to get a better view of who he was while he was in the comfort of his own home.

"Well unless we have more matters to discuss, we should likely head home." Kael said, his more respecting and royal tone slipping in as though he wasn't necassarily asking rather than telling. "Ready, princess?" He asked softly, offering her his arm. He walked to the courtyard where his mare was being brought around alongside a small carriage with a grey gelding pulling it. Kael opened the carriage's door in invitation for Iridessa, giving her his hand if she wanted to use it. He mounted his mare once the princess was settled, and rode beside the carriage. His sharp, black crown was still atop his head and on his mare, he truly looked like a Night Court prince. "Might I say you look absolutely stunning today, princess? And what do you want me to address you as? Princess, your name, your majesty, the list goes on." Kael said softly

She did not miss the way that his tone was more telling than asking, but she didn't quite mind either. She was sure that he was tired from his day and would much rather be in his own home. "Of course, let's take our leave," she smiled as she took his arm, bidding her parents farewell before turning her back completely. She took his hand as she stepped into the carriage and she settled in comfortably, sitting with her hands folded in her lap as she watched Kael riding at the side of the carriage. He was the most perfect, princely image. "Thank you.. Iridessa will do just fine. How may I address you?" She asked in return, her expression softening as she studied him. She knew she'd have plenty of time to do so, but he ignited a certain level of intrigue within her that kept her coming back for more.

"Just Kael is alright with me." He said with a slight nod. He watched her with a small smile until they arrived, the carriage and horses being taken to the stable. "I've arranged for your own bedroom until the wedding, though, if you decide afterwards that you'd rather stay in your own bedroom after then that's alright as well." He explained, offering his arm as he led her into the black and grey castle. The constellations above them shone brightly and the moon illuminated the ground. "My father controls how often we have night, though he typically leaves it to be natural. If you'd like it to ever be day for longer than usual, please voice that to me. I want your life with me here to be the best I can offer" He said, leading her to her room as he waved off a maid who followed him for instruction. Opening a carved door with the moon phases carved into it, he welcomed her into her bedroom. "This is yours" He explained softly, walking in with her. "Only you, I, and those you invite are allowed in. I can post a guard outside your door if it makes you feel safer as well--or even a maid if that's better. I do typically have a few guards roaming the halls at night, keeping everyone safe. I'm just across the hall if you ever need anything, just knock." He said, letting her go. "Everything you need to wear is in the armoire" He added, ducking out

"Kael it is then," she smiled, testing his name out on her tongue. Once they arrived, she descended from the carriage and took his arm once more, her touch light and gentle in the crook of his arm. "That's very generous of you. I cannot thank you enough for being so mindful of my comfort," she admitted, taking in the features of the dark castle. It was beautiful in its own way, foreign and arguably colder, but Iridessa found herself just as at peace there so far. "Of course. I'm perfectly happy for things to remain the same," she assured him, but was no less grateful for the offer. He seemed to be endlessly thoughtful towards her, and she would be lying to say that he wasn't softening her heart bit by bit. "How gorgeous," she murmured as she studied the door briefly, the moon phases delicately crafted. "I should be just fine without a guard, though I will let you know if I should ever feel the need for someone to watch over me," she told him, finally releasing his arm to take in the grand room that would be called her own. She thanked Kael once more before letting him leave, her gaze gravitating towards the armoire in curiosity of what would be there for her. She slightly brightened and warmed the room with her magic, making it a little more familiar as she explored, excited to spend more time with her husband to be.

Karl changed into a more comfortable version of what he'd worn for the meeting before walking over to Iridessa's room and knocking. "Dinner is in an hour" he said softly, leaving to his study to watch the lunar phase that was happening. He liked to study them and found himself calmer when doing so. When the house passed, he went to Iridessa's room once more and knocked. "Would you like for me to escort you to the dining hall?" He offered softly, speaking through the door as to not barge in and make her uncomfortable in his presence while in her own room
