"Good" She said simply, gesturing to a bed. "That's yours." She said, turning to leave. "Get settled and ask one of the boys to show you how to feed the mares."

Ben nodded. Then, realizing something, he turned back to the woman and said, "Wait! Does this mean I got the job?"

Emma laughed. "Yeah, you get the job." She said with a smile, walking back to the office

Ben smiled back, and once she had left he did a fist pump in happiness. After he had finished congratulating himself, he went back to his car and got his bags. Ben carried them into the building and set them on his bed, unpacking the most necessary items. Once he was done with that, he headed out to look for Jeremy or Brock. He found one of them, Brock, he assumed, because Jeremy was out riding, in the feed room sorting through grain. Ben awkwardly stood in the room for a few seconds before speaking up. "Hey. Uh, I'm the new worker... I was told you'd show me how to feed the mares."

Brock halfway glared at Ben before nodding once, sharply. He handed a bucket to Ben along with a scoop. "Each mare with no foal gets a half scoop of these two. Mares with a foal get this as well." He said, gesturing to the different feeds. "Pour it all in the bucket, mix it, and dum it into their grain bins inside their stalls. Don't mess it up." He instructed, getting the food for the studs and geldings

Ben nodded along with what Brock said, inspecting the feed as carefully as he dared. After that, he asked Brock timidly, "Do you know where the colt that I'm going to be breaking in is?" He didn't want to get on Brock's bad side, but he wanted to see what this horse was like. From the way the woman had spoken of him, he had quite the personality. Ben liked horses like that, but he wanted to see the colt for himself before making any assumptions.

Ben sighed. He admired that Brock was so focused on work that he could be so unfriendly to the new guy. 'I'll just have to find him myself then.' Ben thought, walking in the direction that he had seen Jeremy going earlier. Maybe he would tell him where the colt was.

Emma walked through the barn and called to Ben. "Hey! Lemme show ya where the color is!" She called down the aisle, gesturing to follow her

Ben was relieved to see the woman from before calling him over. He jogged over to her and fell into step beside her. He was so glad that he didn't have to find the colt himself that he felt comfortable talking to her. At least for now. "I might just have bad memory, but I don't think I caught your name," he said to her casually, making his way around a wheelbarrow filled with hay bales.
