Sage couldnt help but find himself wondering about the prince as he worked. He'd never actually seen the guy. which wasn't surprising, but even so he'd been brought up by the others as a weapon. None of them particularly liked any of the royal family...or anyone who thought they were worth more than them simply because of where they'd been born into the social classes of the society. Well, that was a lie...they despised them. hated them, with a bruning passion. And he had been brought up with that same hate. He wasn't sure he would want to be picked....he'd been taking his time out in the fields, killing off the best guards one by one. It was a slow process.... each guard had to be killed secretly, with enough time in between that no one suspected anything. He'd always made it look like an animal attack....there were plenty of those out where they were kept in their little shacks, which really weren't any protection at all. Either way, he eventually decided he would use this opportunity...the prince coming down here....to feel him out. How big he was, what weapons he had, how he moved. His ultimate goal was to kill him, of course, and then the rest of the royal family, one by one, and his plan was moving. Slowly, yes, but it was moving all the same, and he didn't need that ruined by the prince dragging him off to dress him. The work of the fields was exhausing, and killed off many servants as it got hotter out....but it also kept him fit, as he'd steal food and such from the guards when they weren't looking. Not enough to make him look any less skinny and worn down than the rest of the workers, but enough to keep him healthy enough to stay stong.
-
He was surprised when the trumpets went off, and he glanced up at the sun quickly, wondering how it could already be noon. Well, the sun was high in the sky, so he'd been thinking and absentmindedly been doing his job in the meantime. Of course, he didn't mind that...it was a good way to pass the time and ignore how thirsty, hungry, and tired he was int he moment. He glanced over where the other servants were pointing and murmuring, though quietly and discretely enough that the guards wouldn't hear or notice. The king and queen were in their fancy little carriage, moving down the lines and doing their best to avoid puddles or mud. He snorted and went back to his work, only to have a guard come up and grab him a few minutes later, winding a rope made of harsh material around his wrists and then neck, dragging him off to where the carriage had stopped at the end of the field. He was too stunned to do much as people swarmed him, talkign and touching and...honestly, it was so much of a blur he wasnt really sure what they were doing. Soon enough though, the guard tied to rope to the handle of the carriage, leaving him to hurry after it as the horses started trotting off back to the castle. Well....that wasn't how things were supposed to work out. He threw a desperate glance back at the fields, wanting to get back out there, live life like he normally did...but soon enough the castle gates closed behind him and he stopped alongside the carriage, letting whoever grabbed the rope drag him off and down some hallways, the person all the while muttering why they'd picked a dirty field rat for the prince. He glowered under his hair, cheeks flushing with both embarrasment and anger at the man's comments, but kept his eyes down, knowing better than to disobey already. He'd just have to make the most of his situation, he suppposed.

Prince Vincent Omveran

–Ω–
Vincent sighed, glancing around the living room in boredom. He knew his parents would just pick a random male to serve. But he was fine with Jackson. Jackson was loyal and he had known him for a while. Vincent shivered at the thought of a new servant being so close to him. It was screaming for something to go wrong. When he saw his mother and fathers' carriage beginning back to the palace he scowled. They made the servant run behind it? What the Hell was this... Vincent sighed quietly. It wasn't fine. But he would have to wait until he became king or... something, to fix it. But he could at least try to treat the new servant kindly. Vincent stood, brushing himself off as he began his walk to the courtyard. His strides long and brisk as he walked through long hallways of the palace. Reaching the courtyard doors, he took a breath, nodding at the guards who opened them. He walked out into the sun, running a hand through his black and red hair. Vincent made his way down the steps, making sure not to look down. He knew not to look down all to well. Vincent had an air of grace around him, but not a snobby grace like all his relatives. More of a... wary grace. If that was possible. He looked down at the servant, trying to hide his shock at just how short this man was. And how, dirty? That would most certainly not do. Vincent let his hazel eyed gaze roam over the boy. He glanced to the guards holding the servant.
"Release him. Now."
He said, voice firm. The guard nodded quickly, fumbling to release the new servant from his bonds. His father rolled his eyes and he could feel his mother giving him a sideways look. One that he knew meant nothing good.
"Our son shall be briefing you on everything. And the other servants will show you to the servants quarters."
The queen said, her voice bittersweet. Vincent tensed almost unnoticeably. Almost.
"Yes mother."
He said, bowing to her and glancing at the servant.
"Please follow me."
He said, keeping his voice steady. He didn't want to seem like a threat on his first day of meeting his new servant. It was... weird. He didn't even get to pick the servant. Which annoyed him. But if he was honest, he was never allowed outside the palace walls. It irked him. But he's gotten used to it by now. Vincent turned on his heel, walking back up toward the palace. Stepping inside he gestured to the magnificent palace, beginning the tour.

Sage was still slightly breathless by the time the doors had shut behind him, but once the king and queen emerged from the carriage and such, he forced himself into a normal breathing pattern, despite how it made his lungs burn. He let out a slight huff of air when he heard the new set of boot clomping along the stone pathways they were on. Judging by the sound of it, it was the prince. A quick glance upwards confirmed his suspicions, and also told him that if he was going to kill the other boy, it had better be quickly, because he wasn't sure how long he would last in a fight against him. He was tall...and not just tall, but built like...well, like a knight. The picture perfect prince. It took a large amount of effort not to answer at that.
He was rather surprised when the first thing the prince said was to release him, and he tensed when the guards reached for him, but forced himself not to flinch away as they slid the ropes off of him. He eyed the prince warily from under his rats nest pile of hair, which hadn't been combed or washed in....a long time. He wasn't even sure how long it was, it was so tangled. His wrists were chaffed under the mud on his skin though, so he slowly moved to run them with a sort of wince, though quickly his what he was doing when the queen spoke up. He bowed silently to her in response to her comments, knowing if he spoke she'd probably have a hissy fit about it. But he dipped his head to the prince when he said to follow, scuttling after him as he strode off. He had to move quickly to stay somewhat caught up, walking to the side and just behind the guy, since his legs were so much longer than sages were. But, sage has plenty of pent up energy due to nerves, and a strong body, so he moved along the road quickly despite that. He sort of peeked around at the castle as they entered it, trying his best not to look too impressed. But...it was better than he'd even imagined, so it was hard not to look surprised. He did keep in mind not to look up too much, or to look at the prince in the face....such a thing was punishable in itself. But hed need to know his way around the place, so he kept everything he saw and heard tucked away nearly in his mind. He did feel a little bit bad about getting the floor dirty though ...he had no shoes, and while it was hard to tell due to the amount of mud on him, he was definitely leaving a trail of the stuff behind him. He knew they were rich enough to replace it all, and he didn't feel bad for whoever owned it. The king and queen probably. He just felt bad for whatever poor souls they made clean it all up.

Prince Vincent Omveran

–Ω–
Vincent heard the quiet taps of the servant following behind him, breathing a quiet sigh of relief. As he showed the much smaller man around, he noticed just how dirty he was... his wrists and feet were caked in mud, and looked very raw from rope burn, hid skin looked blistered and bug bitten as well. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, but he quickly wiped the concern from his face, gesturing for the servant to continue following. Once they got to the third floor, Vincent gestured to his room.
"That is my room, where you will most likely be answering to the most. It is also required to knock before entering."
He stated. But he didn't go to his room to show the servant it like he had the others room. It was his room, and that's how it would stay for now. Vincent began walking with the servant to this servants quarters. He was surprised when his mother and father had announced separate wings for each servant. And was even further surprised that they got mostly all amenities. Not like the royal class. But they had a room, a bed, a bathroom, a shower, and a toilet. The necessities. Vincent paused, sighing longly when he saw Stephanie. She was wearing a medium length, flowy, white dress, with a slit up her side, and a curved, bedazzled top. She had her hair pulled back in a fancy French braid updo, and her makeup was perfect, like usual. She glanced at him, looking between Vincent and the servant. Dismissing thr guard she was had been flirting with. She walked over to Vincent and smirked, fixing his collar.
"Why hello there, brother. Is this your new servant?"
She asked, her voice a chill, sweet sound. Vincent sighed again. He realized he sighed a lot.
"Yes, he is. I am showing him to his quarters."
He responded, watching Stephanie. Vincent noticed, Stephanie was taller then the boy as well. She was standing at about 5'9-5'11. So, it didn't seem a surprise. Stephanie nodded, gesturing for them to go on. Vincent rolled his eyes, gesturing for the servant to follow him once more as he began down the hall again. His servants quarters weren't far from his room. Practically only 5 rooms down. Just incase he needed to attend anything quickly. Vincent stopped in front of the door, looking down at the servant.
"You will be expected to be awake around 6 in the morning, or earlier depending on when the cooks make breakfast. The royals here are the queen, the king, the princess, and I. You will do what we request or ask of you. And, like I said earlier, always knock. This. Behind me, is your room. Please go inside and shower then change into the clothing and let the princess or I know if your clothing are to the wrong fit. Then, please come to the dining hall where the queen will brief you further."
He finished, watching the servant with his hazel brown eyes.
"Do you have a name?"
He asked. "The servant" wasn't going to work. He needed a name to the face.

Sage had followed the prince around for a while, taking note of...well, everything. He couldn't waste any time trying to figure out where he was or where a room or object was, he'd just be expected to know it all, he knew that already. He was going to be hitting the floor running. No ..sprinting was the better word for it. And obviously not sprinting fast enough, as the castle was, admittedly, huge...and much more complex than he'd initially given it credit for. To be fair, he'd only seen the walls of the place from our in the fields ...so he wasn't sure why he was so surprised.
He raised an eyebrow silently when the princess swooped over, but nodded politely when she came to her brother. It was custom, and he'd do it, even if she ignored him. Which she did, not surprisingly. He did take special note of which room was the princes, as he'd obviously be there often. He followed the prince down to his own room...which also came as a surprise. He wasn't sure what he'd expected, but it certainly wasn't a room of his own. And so close to the prince. Though, they had plenty of money and rooms. It was just much more than he was used to, he supposed. He nodded in response to the princes comments, humming out a tired "yes, sir," before cocking his head slightly when the other boy asked him what his name was. He hadn't expected that either. Not that it mattered...he'd still kill the whole family. He could act meek for now...not that it was all an act, he supposed. But he'd hide his time, make sure it worked. Because of it didn't, it was flogging and a noose after torture, if he was lucky. "Sage," he finally responded carefully, finding it odd to be speaking to his....master? He wasn't sure what to call him.
Once he'd been shooed off though, he slid into his room and closed the door, sliding down it with a tired sigh. He sat there for a while before forcing himself to his feet, knowing he had to get up and be down at the dining hall soon. No doubt the queen would be impatient. He let his gaze move around the room, and his eyes widened with shock. He hadn't expected it to be so ...nice. hell, he had a bed and lights and running water with a bathroom attached to the main room. He wasn't one to shower daily, but he found himself eager to clean up after years worth of field work with very few showers. None of which had shampoo or anything. It took him a while to clean up, but he felt like a whole new person as he got dressed into a very soft tunic and trousers, which fit him well. They were a tad long, but nothing that wound hinder him. If anything, they were more comfortable than skin tight...he wouldn't have been comfortable in that. He let out a sort of breath, tying his hair somewhat up though leaving the shorter strands half covering his face. He just felt...dafter that way. Then he moved to wander down to find the dining hall, knocking and sliding in warily when the queen called for him to enter.

Prince Vincent Omveran

–Ω–
Vincent nodded at the name.
"Thank you, Sage. You are dismissed."
He said, stepping out of the way. He watched Sage enter his room, disappearing inside before he finally turned around. Vincent began toward the dining hall, body language stiffening as he got closer, his brisk steps carrying him across the floor. Vincent stopped at the entrance of the dining room, glancing at the two guards on either side before pushing the dining hall doors open.
.
As the doors parted, Vincent saw his mother, father, and his sister all seated in the dining hall. Stephanie looked anxious. Vincent approached them, taking his seat at the seat opposing his mother. Which was frankly, terrifying.
"Hello, Vincent."
His mother told him, her voice firm and cold while speaking to him. Vincent nodded at her, sitting up a bit straighter.
"Hello, mother. Father."
He greeted with nods to both of them. His father simply nodded back, while his mother opened her mouth to reply. Except someone knocked on the dining hall doors, interrupting her. Vincent glanced to the doors, curious as to who interrupted the queen.
"Enter."
The queen called out, and the doors pushed open, revealing Sage, who looked much cleaner. Vincent stared at the man. He looked much nicer now that he had clothes that fit and had showered. The king waved a hand for him to come forward, and Vincent rolled his shoulders back, clenching his teeth. Sage walked forward, approaching the king and queen. He stopped when near the queen, bowing to her. He was on a good track so far.
"Hello, servant. I see you have made it here with not to much trouble I hope."
She said, sounding nothing shy of condescending.
"As my sons servant, you will be responsible for getting him for breakfast and supper, if he is not already here. Breakfast begins around 7:30, and supper around 5:40. If you have any questions, speak them now."
She said, her tone a bittersweet bite. Vincent wanted to hide at the sound. He knew he shouldn't have told them to release Sage that soon. But it was so disgusting the way they had tied him to the side of the carriage...

Sage had slid into the dining room hesitantly, knowing full well the royal family would all be in there, and the others wouldn't be as kind as the prince so far. Not that the prince was particularly kind....but he'd at least made sure to know his name, and he given him time to clean up after working in the fields.
-
He padded forward when the king gestured for him to come towards them, and he did so quietly but quickly, strengthened strides carrying him to the table in an efficient manner. He walked much faster and smoother than you'd expect given his shorter size. He bowed to the royals, giving the queen a simple nod as she spoke, then a quick shake of his head in response to her condescending question. His fists clenched slightly behind his back, but his face didn't change. He'd mastered his poker face, showing no emotion, not giving away any of his thoughts or feelings. No...that was likely to get him killed. Especially if they found out he was planning to kill them. He found himself wondering which he'd kill first.....the princess would be the easiest target, but if he went for the king, that would be the worst opponent taken care of right away.
-
He jerked back to reality when the queen finished speaking, and shook his head when she mentioned having questions. He really didn't...not important ones any way. And if he talked to her now the question likely to come out was something along the lines of "do you do anything besides bitch at people," and that really wasn't the impression he wanted to make. He needed them to believe he was meek. Willing to do whatever they told him to do, no questions asked. He hated it, all of it, but he'd gotten used to it. So, he could abide by their rules. For now.

Prince Vincent Omveran

Warnings: Abuse
–Ω–
It had been a few days since Vincent had gotten his new servant, Sage. And neither had really spoken... It was sort of an acquaintance-only thing. Vincent didn't horribly mind. He understood that Sage probably disliked him. And he was alright with that.
Vincent sat at his window, peering out onto the grounds. Today was another scorching day, the sun beating down on all of the servants in the fields. Vincent stood, turning away from the window. He didn't want to look any longer. Striding off, he began making his way to the first living room, where he expected to find Stephanie and her maid, Kina. He was not prepared, to walk in on his mother borderline harassing one of the servant-slash-cooks. Vincent quickly made his way over lightly touching his mother's shoulder.
"Mother, why are you yelling?"
He asked, eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at the girl his mother was yelling at. She had pretty blonde hair, tied back in a plated French braid, and light, shining brown eyes. She also looked very young and on the verge of tears.
"She messed up my food, again."
His mother snapped, straightening her back to stand taller, sizing up the girl. Vincent stepped between them.
"Mother, do not talk to her like that. She is newer. I will ask one of the more experienced servers to teach her."
He said sternly. His mother did not like that. She stared at him for a moment, and Vincent resisted the urge to shrink back and die.
"... You stay here, Vincent. You are dismissed, girl."
She snapped. Vincent's heart sank, whatever color was left on his face drained quickly.
"Yes, mother."
He said with a nod, voice strained. The servant girl he was defending hurried out of the room quickly. Vincent stood, stomach flipping as his mother walked forward.
"What made you think interrupting me while I was talking to her, was okay."
She asked him rhetorically. Vincent knew that. He stayed silent.
"Pull up your shirt."
His mother said harshly. Vincent stared at her for a moment, fear flashing through his eyes.
"Wait, mother, I'm sor--"
He tried but was quickly cut off.
"Vincent. Do not make me ask you again. Take your shirt off."
His mother interrupted, grabbing a cane off of the small table next to her. Vincent froze, eyes darting down to the cane. But he quickly complied, not wanting it to be made worse. Vincent tugged at his shirt buttons, shrugging the shirt off his shoulders and holding it tightly in his hands.
"Vincent. You know how this works. Don't make this harder for me."
His mother sighed pitifully. Vincent turned around, his scarred back facing his mother. He squeezed his eyes shut and tightened his hold on his shirt. He whimpered quietly when the cane hit his back, sending a sharp jolt of stinging pain through him. Tears threatened to drip from his eyes as he buried his face in his shirt, muffling his cries of pain.
.
Vincent moved slowly, pulling his shirt back on as his mother left. He was breathing in short, stilted breaths, his back stinging in sharp pain. He couldn't breathe. Vincent's fingers stumbled over his shirt buttons as he did them wrong. Then undid them, then did them wrong again. Eventually, he gave up, not being able to focus on the stupid buttons anymore. Vincent tried to take a step forward, but he felt rooted to the spot, pain throbbing against his back and spine. He was rooted to the spot by the pain. His cheeks were tear-stained and his lip was trembling. Despite his pain, Vincent rubbed his eyes furiously, trying to wipe the tears away. He didn't cry. He wasn't going to cry. And he wasn't moving either apparently...
