Hunter smiled, "I don't know how to ride yet, but I will start learning tomorrow. I will also be taught the way of swords, however I am familiar with the bow and arrow, how are you with the bow and arrow?" He said, then he noticed that Adrien was stiff, as if awaiting punishment. Hunter frowned, "Don't be so stiff, Nobody has to know about this" he said, "plus, your the most exciting thing that has happened to me yet" he said

Adrien Atlas Sentara -X- Adrien just nodded slightly, though he couldn't get his body to relax. "I do know how to use a bow and arrow..." He said, with a slight nod. he didn't tell the boy he was trying to learn how to do so on horseback. he didn't want to seem like he was gloating. Because that may not end well either... he willed his hands to stop fidgeting with te reins, but of course, why would they?

Hunter put his hands on his hips and smiled, "Then we can go hunting together!" He said, "Finally! Some excitement!" He said, Hunter turned his back to the boy and started to walk off, then he paused, "you going to get your bow?" He said laughing, "if you don't have one, then you can come and raid the Weapons storage with me" he said, a small smile on his lips

Adrien Atlas Sentara -X- Adrien nodded slightly, but he looked nervously at the boy when he mentioned something similar to stealing. That had earned him many of the scars on his back before... "I'll get my own.." He murmured, turning Prince toward the woods and having him start walking. They walked into the forest, where Adrien had hidden his bow for the time being, and grabbed it. It wasn't intricate or pretty by any means, but it got the job done. He had bought it from.. a shady guy, if he was honest. But he didn't have to pay much for it, and the guy had never asked for it back and he wasn't hurt for it. So he supposed it was fine. After retrieving the bow, he walked Prince back out to the field, Prince's steps were slow and leisurely. Adrien didn't mind, he wasn't in... too much of a hurry. he didn't want to make the higher ranked kid wait though...

Hunter disappeared quickly to go up to his Chambers where his sturdy bow waited. His father had gifted him the bow, it was made of tiny strips of Yew and walnut wood. It had shallow engraved figures in it, the language of the people who made this bow, they were renowned for their skill for shooting. Hunter grabbed his quiver that carried 30 arrows that had piercing heads and strong shafts. He jogged out to the field where he met the other boy and waited, the grass around him shifting like a sea of golden stalks.

Adrien Atlas Sentara -X- Adrien waved at him again. His own bow was made of sturdy oak wood, he had been told so, and he could tell as well. He had about 14 arrows, each incredibly sharp at the tips. His arrows had four sides on them, he knew they would hurt more, considering if you tried to pull one out, you would rip the skin, and begin bleeding even worse... Adrien was still mounted on Prince's back, deciding not to get down. The leather quiver was thrown over his shoulder, resting on his back. He looked down at Hunter and looked over his boy, accidentally letting his curiosity of it slip onto his face.

Hunter smiled at him, he saw the others boys gaze on his bow. "My father bought it for me, it's from special bow makers" he said, "if you want, you can test it out" he offered, his smile reaching his eyes for the first time in a long time. "I will go get a horse so you don't have to keep looking down at me like that, but when we going hunting it might be wiser to leave them in a selected place, that way we can sneak up on our prey" he said turning toward the stables, he walked about 200ms before coming to the stables, a stable hand jumped up and began preparing a horse for him immediately. Hunter waited 10 minutes before the stable hand turned over a shining bay gelding, Hunter may not be able to stay seated during trots and canters, but he knew how to walk around on a horse. Hunter guided his horse over near Adrien and his black horse. "Let's go" he said

Adrien Atlas Sentara -X- Adrien took a small breath and nodded, he clucked to Prince quietly and he snorted, but began walking toward the forest. Adrien smiled, though it was a small smile, as they walked through tall trees, a slight mist hanging in the air, ferns and bushes planted on the ground, moss growing over fallen or standing trees and the shade of the tree tops sent a pleasant chill through his body, letting it brush over his scars. He looked around, his eye's noting every small indivet, indent, digout, or ditch. He wasn't about to trip while hunting.

When they reached the forest line, Hunter slid down from the saddle and tethered his horse to a nearby tree, "If would be wise to go on without horses" he said, waiting for the boy to part from the beautiful black. Hunter unslung his bow, carrying the lightweight weapon in his left hand.

Adrien Atlas Sentara -X- Adrien looked back and shook his head very slightly. "No... no wildlife comes up this far..." He said quietly. He knew that wildlife didn't get this close to the town. They stayed back further, near the river. Which was a good time's ride away. He hoped he wouldn't be punished for speaking his opinion... Edited at May 30, 2024 04:52 PM by Oakwood Barn
