Sable jumped to her hooves as fast as she could and wheeled around to face the stallion. "What happened?" She snapped. She quickly glanced around the small space. She could run, but she was too tired and she hand no clue where she was. Her ears pinned as she stepped back. She didnt feel like asking where her herd went, but she desperately wanted to know

The gelding stared at her, she had soft amber eyes like his but his were darker. Her demeanor seemed tense, she looked like a cougar ready to pounce on her pray. ' ' ' I don't know your herd must have left you behind, do you need help? ' ' ' He spoke softly to not be heard by others who may have been listening

Sable looked at him in suspicion at his question. "No. I'll be fine thank you" she said, walking away from the stallion. She wanted to get away faster but she didnept know where she was going. Her legs were throbbing but she picked up a trot anyway and moved through the brush. She had to get somewhere And fast. her eyes searched for a break in the trees but all she saw was more woods. She stopped and looked back toward where she came. "This is embarrassing " she murmured as she spun around and headed back toward the sunlight spot. She paused before stepping into the sun again. "I don't know where im going..." she shook her mane. "I don't need directions though" Sable looked up at a sky as two birds flew over the trees.

The stallion seemed confused, ' ' ' What is she doing? ' ' ' he silently thought as she jump took off randomly. He was just trying to help? Was he being intimidating, he really tried not to be? Was it his size? What if she thought he was ugly? What if she thought he was going to hurt her? What if... his mind pondered. ' ' ' Go figure it out Porter his mind yelled. He galloped off after the mare dirt getting kicked back and thrown from out beneath him ' ' ' Wait, Stop! ' ' ' he bellowed as it echoed through the trees he wondered why she ran again. His mind was restless he NEEDED to know.

Sable nervously looked at the stallion, all her pride and normal self disappearing. Why was he following her? She pinned her ears and turned toward him. "Why are you following me?" She questioned, her tail flicking. She snorted as she caught her breath. She hated to look so weak, but her legs were giving out on her. After a tense second of trying to make a decision, she dropped to the forest floor and let out a deep breath.

Porter came to a screeching halt as she whipped around and sassily asked him a question. He stepped back, ' ' ' You just suddenly ran off I wanted to make sure your okay ' ' ' his hues looked helpless as he nudged his nose down to her level. The ground smelled sticky like pine sap and like grass. Porter loved grass.

Sable pinned her ears again. "Im fine" she snorted "just confused" her normal guard dropped a little at her answer. Why had she stopped to look at this stallion while they were out in the field? And why was he trying to help her now? Where has her herd gone? Were they okay?

Porter stared at her ' ' ' You don't look fine ' ' ' he calmly spoke as she laid quietly in the grass. Porter liked the look of her she had neutral colors not a extravagant coat but it very much reminded him of his own. ' ' ' Let me help you... I won't hurt you I'm not like that. And please I don't want you ' ' ' he smiled lowering his nose down as a helping gesture to try to intise her to let him help her.

Sable hesitated, but ultimately pushed her pride down a few notches. If he actually wanted to help her then and would let him, but she wasn't going to be a willing subject. "...ok then. How do I get back to my herd?" She looked up at his soft eyes. He really looks completely harmless. Sable on the other hand... she could only imagine that she looked like she was going to bite his head off. She let her ears relax and prick forward. "Do you have any idea where they went? And is there any water nearby?" She desperately needed a sip of water and a nice cool swim

' ' ' I'm not from here, I don't know this area ' ' ' Porter spoke, he softened his gaze and spun around ' ' ' Its like a maze, I have no idea where they are ' ' ' he huffed spinning back around to face her. ' ' ' You really wanna go back to a herd? You know what stallion doesn't care one bit about you right? ' ' ' He felt guilty for letting his thoughts come into play but she seemed independent enough why did she need a herd and a stallion that that to control her every movement.
