She forced her eyes open and stared at him in the ever changing environment. Her pain seemed to override her fear of him, because she gave a soft moan and leaned forward. "Everything is so bright... and its all doing cartwheels..." She was still trembling, much less now that she didnt have to hold herself up, but still quaking. "Not... my definition of good. I think im gonna... take a nap..." Almost on cue, her body went limp. Her body gradually stopped trembling and her fingers twitched quite often, as if she were dreaming or something.

He tipped his head, concern passing over his face, he didn't suppose she wanted him to touch her so he was only hovering. He opened his mouth to talk but shut it when her words started to slurr. He growled. "Shit," he leaned over and kept her from falling til he picked her up. He brought her back inside and laid her on the bed, icepack and blanket back where they were, he watched her for a moment, then walked back outside. He snapped his fingers, Dutch's ears sprang up. He pointed to the house. The dog went inside and crawled up beside her. Half on her. Luke was back to standing outside, watching. He was a bit glad it was still like noon. He didn't particularly want to sleep with a wounded trigger happy girl around that doesn't trust him. Edited at June 15, 2023 11:38 PM by Prismatic Cove

What an INTERESTING TYPO)) It had been hours since her little outburst when she groaned and came to life. She blinked a few times and saw Dutch. She grinned at him groggily, speaking normally this time. "Hi there handsome boy... Aren't you doing a good job, huh buddy? Yeah, are you protecting me?" She planted a kiss on his muzzle and scratched him behind the ears. "You are just the goodest boy, thats right." She sounded sane this time around, quite entranced with her fluffy companion. "Where'd you put... uhm... oh, shit, what was his name? Uhm- Luka? Luke- Lukas? That sounds right." She shook her head and sighed. "Yeah, great first impression, I know." She leaned her head back, not ever presuming that he could easily overhear her conversation with his dog. "Whats your name, bud?" She ran a hand down the dogs spine and tilted her head at him. SHUSH I JUST NOTICED IT IM GONNA DIE)) Lukas was leaned against the wall just outside of the door, his attention perked by the sound of her voice. He was basically eavesdropping but she was talking to a dog, so. Dutch's tail was wagging quite aggressively. He nosed her chin softly, his front paws on her chest. He shook his head, a small smirk at her badness with names. Malicious amusement. He stood up straighter and gave it a pause before he listened for a moment she might not hate him if he walked in. Theeere it was, asking his dog.. his dog's name. Was it the head injury or was she insane before? ..I talk to him too. ..whatever. He slipped in through the doorway and into the house, his head tipped down a bit, the bow in hand but his arms were at his sides. "His name is Dutch." He laid the bow on the ground nearby and grabbed a bottle of water for her, he handed it to her and sat down with his legs crossed- but he raised one up so he could lean an arm on it. "Feeling more concious this time?"

She startled, blinking at him. "Ah. Dutch. He isn't very original, is he, Dutch?" She said sarcastically, chuckling at the dog's enthusiasm. (The ladies dig dudes with dogs) "Thank you. And yes, I am. Much more conscious, actually. And because I can tell what you're thinking right now, no, I am not batshit crazy because im talking to your dog. Hes just very... approachable." She huffed defensively. Not like ive had much else to talk to since The Mist. She turned her attention back to Dutch and gave him another kiss on the muzzle, smiling at the dog. It brightened up her whole face and made her look... better.

He rolled his eyes. "He came with the name, its bad juju to change a dog's name. That and I couldn't find any other name that fit as well as Dutch did." He hummed a soft tune while he sat, listening to her speak. She was much less hostile with the dog nearby and really it was a lot nicer when she wasn't threatening him. He looked up at her after she commented on approachableness. He wanted to speak but he was caught off guard a bit by the smile, hesitantly he handed her the bottle of water. "So. Who are you? And yes I know you're not Misted, Dutch wouldn't like you so much if you were." He said in a softer voice, his inside voice.

She took the water bottle gently and looked up at him, a little smile still lilting her lips. "My name is Astoria. I would prefer if you call me Mercy, though. And you're Lukas, right? And don't blame me if I got it wrong, I tried." She huffed, scooching back so she could sit up. She ran her fingers through Dutch's fur a few times while she took a drink of water. She put the cap back on and popped it on the bedside table, chancing a glance back at the man. She could tell he was really trying his best to make her comfortable, and she appreciated that. She was honestly surprised at herself that her first instinct wasn't to run up and hug him- but maybe she really was different since The Mist. Edited at June 16, 2023 10:05 AM by Widow Valley Farms

He looked at the doorway as she spoke, then back at her. "Yeah, its Lukas, or Luke. Nice to meet you Mercy." He leaned back and pulled off the quiver and laid it by his leg and looked back at the girl. Astoria is quite the name, he smiled a little but tried to keep an even expression. "You were half conscious when I said it last time so, makes sense if you forgot." He chuckled a little. "What took you way out here?" He tipped his head, his posture a bit more relaxed.

"Less Misted in the woods, aren't there? I was farther south, but it kept getting too close for comfort. I figured I'd see if it was safer here and- I guess it is. Uhm, Thank you, by the way. For saving me and... putting up with my shit. Im glad you found me." She mumbled the last part a bit, but it was enough to be heard. She blinked and stared down at Dutch. She rubbed his ears a bit and then looked around. Anywhere but that man's face. She was fine saying thank you, it was thinking about what she would have to do to make them even that got to her. To her, this was a debt. And a pretty damn big one, at that.

He gallic shrugged and looked back at the doorway. "I always just prefered nature to the city, then came the perks." He smiled softly and turned back to her. "You're welcome, Mercy." He said, stifling the grin of amusement at her embarrassment. He stood up. "I take it you were just exploring, didn't see any of your stuff in the cabin. Well- under the cabin." He said in a more question-like tone, making conversation while also gauging if she was trustworthy. For now she was just ..not a threat.
