I like that idea! We can definitely do that, and add the romance in later. I'll just have them meet up in the woods when sage goes to fill water up for the tavern he works at.

Sage bustled around the dirty tavern from one table to another, taking orders and bringing food and drinks to the people in it. He hadn't slept or eaten anything the past two days, and was trying to keep his pace up and get orders right...he knew that if he messed something up things would get really bad really quickly. Well, even more really bad than it already was. As the day went on, he continued to run between the kitchens and tables, carrying trays piled high with drinks and food. There was a huge fesival going on in the town square that night, and the later it got, the busier the tavern got. And the busier the tavern got, the more upright the boss got. Which meant Sage had better stay away from the man. He went out of his way to avoid him, but it took longer than walking straight to the kitchens. His boss yelled something and shook his fist. Sage couldn't hear him because he was across the room from him and the tavern was full of loud, drunk men and women. Sage couldn't wonder what his boss had said for long though, he had more orders to fill, and besides he was probably just cursing and threatening him, which was common. He ran into the kitchen and grabbed the next three or four orders and rushed out again, weaving between tables and delivering orders. He was the only one working tonight, due to the festival, everyone else would be there. He ran back to the kitchen and grabbed another few orders, no time to even shake his sweaty hair out of his face before running back out again. There's was work to be done, and he didn't have the time for a break, not if he wanted the menial pay the tavern owner was required to give him for working. And he needed that money. (It's really long...bit longer than normal, so don't worry about the length of responses lol) Edited at May 14, 2023 03:52 PM by NightClan

(lol okay)
Val stood off in the corner, Watching, and waiting... She had mostly been waiting to talk to a certain someone for a while now, But since a few loyal members of him have gone missing, all appointments/meetings were backed up. "Valerie? Come in." She turned her head towards the doors, and sure enough he was standing there, waiting. She entered his room and sat down. "I have a new mission for you." The man said, Valerie instantly looked away, rolling her eyes. "I want you to murder this man, Sage, He works in a tavern not far from here." The man pulled out a picture, Ooh he's cute...what a shame. She nodded to him, grabbed the picture, and left. Val preferred human blood anyways, She hadn't had it in a while now due to the passing of the workers. But, As a vampire, She could go... weeks? without drinking blood. Her current favorite thing to do was to try human food, some was disgusting, some was weirdly good. Val made her way out into the streets of the town, looking for the tavern.

Sage continued to run back and forth between tables, carrying trays and plates and cups full of drinks and food. The other waiters ranked higher than him, so they could afford to go at a slower pace....but not him. He had to work, and work hard. No one else would higher someone of his rank, and this guy only hired him because he could get away with barely paying him anything. But he had to make some kind of money ...he and his sister didn't really have any other option. They had a small, run down shack...but their father was always there, and always drunk, and well...sage didn't like him much. He treated his sister, Lizzie, alright, but not him. He wasn't sure why, but all he knew was he had to make as much as he could do they didn't all starve. They were close as it was, and that was with him stealing what he could from the market on his days off.

Val had been wandering the streets for a while, Keeping an eye out for the tavern, yet she still hadn't spotted it...And that's when her phone rang, Pulling it out of her pocket she saw who it was, Oh god. It was her annoying little brother, they both had a major age gap because her parents decided they wanted another child... a little late, and he was defiantly spoiled.. yup, spoiled. She picked it up, "What have you done now?" She huffed, annoyance flaring up in her tone. "Dad wants me to tell you that you shouldn't make such a mess when you're on the job," Atlas said, snickering shortly after as he made an impression of their father's voice. "That's all? Really? He couldn't even tell me himself? Is he really contacting the boss about my past missions again?" Valerie had clearly stated she didn't want him doing that, but, some people just can't take a hint. "Well he uh, busy, I also agree with him! You leave dead bodies in your trail, people are going to get suspicious you know?" Atlas grumbled, Valerie so wanted to smack him right in his stuck-up face, "Alright, bye then, No promises." She hung up on him, annoying little brat. She stopped mid-walking, Looking over, She spotted the Tavern.

Sage worked that way until most of the breakfast customers had left the place. Then it was working on cleaning ...sweeping up floors, wiping and clearing off all the tables and chairs, and then washing the dishes before lunch got the place busy again. He managed to do everything but the dishes, since there was no water, so he sighed and grabbed the buckets sitting by the door and slid out of the tavern and into the woods behind it, down to the stream so he could fill the buckets up with water. He knelt down by the stream once he got there, and leaned over the buckets for a moment, trying to catch his breath. He dragged his sleeve across his face, wiping the sweat out of his eyes, before filling up the buckets and taking a deep breath before standing up again, pausing for a moment in order to steady himself before turning to carry the heavy buckets back to the tavern.

She scanned the tavern for a while, Thats when she saw Sage, Grabbing buckets, And leaving right when she had arrived. From the look of it, he had been working for a while, Which mean't he wouldnt have had enough energy to escape her when she killed him, And he was heading right into the forest, all alone, Hmm, This is weirdly going smoothly. Valerie decided not to question it further, She walked to the side of the tavern and waited, Sadly she was to late, She'd have to kill him somewhere else, Maybe I can befriend him, and then kill him. The will take a while...I hope it's worth it. Val started to walk towards him, a small distance away, and she decided to speak up. "Need help with those?" She questioned, looking towards the buckets that were filled with water

Sage felt the hairs on the back of his neck prickle on his way back, though he wasn't sure why. He was uneasy a lot, so he only paid half a mind to the feeling. His eyes snapped towards the girl, who had seemed to appear out of nowhere. He assessed the situation in a moment before shrugging slightly and handing the girl a bucket. "I won't argue with that," he told her, walking past her and back towards the tavern. He didn't trust her...he had learned that lesson the hard way...but he wouldn't say no either. He could use the help, he really was exhausted. And it was barely past breakfast.
