Malorie got closer to the water, Maybe if I make it seem like there's movement over here this 'creature' will come back, Or maybe its just a shark and I'm being stupid... She sighed, But reluctantly dipped her hand in the water and splashed some of the water. The water sent shivers throughout, Of course, It was freezing cold. She wondered how fish survived in such cold water, That was a stupid question though. She tried her best to avoid the water droplets that were flying everywhere, but her hair was halfway wet by the time she slowed down her hand and gently swirled the water.

He perked up and looked towards the surface as he sensed the vibrations through the water. His gold eyes stared up at the surface and waited for more movement. It seemed almost like the movement of a fish struggling but at the same time didn't. Soon curiosity got a hold of Caspian and he slowly swam towards the surface. He kept a bit away from the island and the fin on the back of his tail skimmed through the water and allowed him to maneuver through the water easily. The water did not seem cold to him, since he was used to this temperature, but he knew a few of the warm water merfolk would complain about it when they migrated through. Cas shook his head to clear his thoughts, his gray blue hair shifting as he did so, and he focused at the surface as he approached it.

It worked! She watched as the shadow that she had seen earlier reappeared, It swam weirdly, And now that she could see it... It wasn't in the shape of a shark at all, Well at least have was, have wasn't, It was like the old stories her brother would tell her of mythical creatures out in the oceans, She never believed him, But now... this- was strange, was this a new species? She excitedly wrote down on paper There is a strange shadow lurking in the water, I found it earlier but it strayed off, It must of sense the vibration of my hand in the water, I think it's a new species, I thought it was a shark but now it looks to have the tail of a shark, but the half point of a human, What could this thing be? She started to flail her hand around more aggressively, hoping to lure it closer.

Caspian noticed how the vibrations became more erratic and his eyes narrowed. His pupils became more of a slotted shape than circles and his arms flattened closer to his side. This was his hunting mode. When like this Caspian would be a little more aggressive especially if he knew that the prey was injured, like the vibrations were feeling like right now. 'Maybe it's a mahi-mahi,' he thinks imagining the large, green fish, 'maybe it got tangled in a scrap of fishing net.' He hated that these scrap nets were floating around the ocean but occasionally it would help him with getting food. The fin on his tail was now cutting through the surface of the water and he turned towards the beach, where he had pinpointed the vibrations to be coming from. Cas swam effortlessly and quickly towards the shore as he got closer to the vibrations. Edited at April 29, 2023 06:03 PM by Paranormal Pastures

Malorie continued making the vibrations, The water rippled effortlessly as she watched. Instead of excitement, she was now getting nervous as the shadow neared closer to the shore. She pulled the sapphire-lined dagger closer to her. What if it is some mythical creature? She shivered, Oh no, What if the story my brother told me was real? I mean I don't think he lied very often... And he was serious when he told me this, But how would he know? He worked in gangs! But maybe they knew information the public didn't know. Is that why they- She paused. No- Malorie stop- Your doing it again.. Her blue-grey eyes shifted around the place, But once again, Landed on the shadow, As it came closer- and closer, She pulled the dagger towards the water, Please dont let it be dangerous..

Caspian felt the sandy bottom grow closer to him as he got closer to the shore. He noticed a shadow from where the vibrations were coming from and saw that it was human looking. He slowed and almost stopped, his pupils returning to circles as he saw that it wasn't prey. He circled the human slowly, inspecting them with curiosity. Why was a human out here alone in the first place? Were the scared of him? Questions circled his brain just like he was doing to the human. The sun shone off of an object in the human's hand and he was more cautious now to not get too close, doing more wide circles.

Malorie shifted nervously, The shadow was very close now, But it stopped- And so her hand, She lifted her hand out of the water, It was freezing cold. Malorie was very close to the water now, inches away, She looked down into it, trying to see this creature. After a bit of thinking she thought that the creature could see her as a threat, so slowly but surely, she lifted the dagger into the air, the sun even more reflecting it as the sapphire's shone brightly, She then moved it over to the shore and dropped it down into the sand, hopefully seeing as no threat to this... fish? human? Thing? Maybe it was just a large fish, Malorie was tempted to dive into the water. Edited at April 29, 2023 06:53 PM by Savannah Stables

Caspian flinched as the human lifted the object into the air and retreated back a bit. He had heard of merfolk being pierced by sharp weapons that humans wielded but had never been attacked by one yet. Hopefully today he would either. He let out a sigh of relief as he watched the human drop it onto the sandy shore and moved a little closer to them. He eyed their strange, tail free limbs and wondered how on earth they could move around with them. Cas's eyes trailed up and looked at the human and fussed that they were a female by the similarities she had to mermaids he had met. His tail swayed from side to side to keep him in one place and he his arms reached down and laid on the sandy ground beneath him. He just laid there, watching the human and he sensed that the human was watching him too.

Jesus... That is NOT a fish, What the hell- She leaned even closer and... coldness met her, "Oh god- My hair's wet!" She pulled back away from the water. Any attention she had laid on this weird creature was now on her hair- Malorie had always hated getting her hair wet- besides washing it, She quickly pulled out an emergency towel- that wasn't necessarily for if her hair got wet, it was for a wound if she was to get injured. She sighed, Great- I probably scared off the creature... She said, her voice clearly full of anger as she tried to dry out her hair that had dipped into the water when she tried to lean closer, It had always been almost impossible to see inside the murky blue water from the surface, Stupid. She muttered to herself. Edited at April 29, 2023 07:55 PM by Savannah Stables

He swam a bit away at the human's sudden movement again. He didn't swim back to hiding though since he was still curious. 'They don't seem dangerous,' he thinks as he slowly peaks the top of his head, hair and eyes, out of the water. Caspian watches the human as they pull a flat object from behind them and starts to rub it against their hair. 'What are they doing,' he thinks, 'humans have such weird habits..' He swims forward some more again, keeping the same amount of his head out of the water to watch the human clearly. He could easily see them below the water but the occasional ripple of the water would make their image look weird so this made him see them better.
